Jon Rahm
Jon Rahm has been excellent at the Open Championship. In his last five starts at this major, Rahm has finished T-11, T-3, T-34, T-2 and T-7, in that order. That T-11 to start this impressive run came at Royal Portrush Golf Club in 2019, which is the host of the 153rd Open Championship this week. Royal Portrush is a coastal links course located in Northern Ireland and Rahm is no stranger to winning on Irish soil.
The 30-year-old won the 2017 Irish Open at Portstewart Golf Club by six strokes at a tournament-record -24. Then, two years later, Rahm won the Irish Open again by two shots at Lahinch Golf Club. During both these wins, the Spaniard finished with a 264 aggregate score, which is the lowest in the history of the Irish Open.
Rahm winning his first Open Championship in Ireland at Royal Portrush would be extremely fitting for the former world No. 1 and with his game ascending right now, Rahm is in perfect position to accomplish this feat. The former Arizona State Sun Devil is coming off a runner-up finish at the LIV Andalucia event last week – including a final round 6-under 65 – which is his fourth top-five finish in 10 starts on the circuit this season. In fact, Rahm hasn’t finished worse than T-11 in his 10 starts on the LIV Tour in 2025 and he ranks second on the circuit in points. Additionally, Rahm is leading LIV Golf in GIR% and he ranks second in birdies this season.
Rahm being the top ball-striker on LIV and leading the circuit in GIR% bodes extremely well for Royal Portrush. When Shane Lowry won the 2019 Open at Royal Portrush by six shots, he led his field in GIR% and SG APP. Rahm is a two-time major champion and he has been brilliant at majors over the last few years. In his last 10 starts at the major level, Rahm has finished inside the top-10 six times, including a T-8 at the PGA Championship in May and a T-7 at the U.S. Open last month.
Rahm ranks fourth among this field in strokes gained per round at majors over the last five years and with the Open Championship being the fourth and final major of the season, this is our last opportunity of the season to use Rahm in OAD pools, given he competes on the LIV Golf tour. Rahm carries the third-best odds to win the Open Championship at +1200 on DraftKings Sportsbook and deploying him in your OAD pool is a must this week if you still have him available.
