Who Was Evicted on Big Brother Tonight? Season 28 Week 10 Results

The double eviction vote arrived on Thursday in the aftermath of a week that saw Yash finish paying off the BB Bribe with the Icons and then enter into an unexpected deal with Drew to give him the Power of Veto.

That left Drew’s two closest allies, Barrett and Melody, on the block with Yash’s No. 1 ally, Taylor. Melody took herself off the block via the BB Blockbuster, leading Barrett to go home in Thursday’s first eviction.

An entire week’s worth of gameplay followed in the span of another hour, with Melody becoming HOH and nominating Dee and Devens for eviction. Devens won the Power of Veto and used it on himself, so Melody nominated Yash to join Dee on the eviction block, with Yash ultimately going to jury.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 10 Results

Week 10 began on Sunday with Yash outlasting the field to become the new Head of Household.

This was very interesting thanks to the BB Bribe that is still constraining Yash. As a result of accepting the $5K bribe from Dee earlier in the season, Yash could not nominate Dee or Devens. That left only Drew, Melody, Barrett and Taylor as options for nomination and guaranteed that Dee and Devens will survive at least the first eviction in Thursday’s double eviction episode.

It also limited what Yash can do in the case of a replacement nominee. If one of the nominees won the Pressure Cooker veto — or another player won and used it — Yash’s only eligible replacement nominee would be his No. 1 ally, Taylor. Of course, this is what happened as Drew won the Veto comp. It isn’t that straightforward, however, as Drew made a secret deal with Yash, promising not to target him and to vote to protect Taylor on Thursday.

Ahead of the first eviction vote on Thursday, Melody won the BB Blockbuster, leaving Barrett and Taylor on the block. Barrett was the first evictee of the night and became the third jury member of Big Brother Season 28.

Another HOH comp followed, with Melody taking home the win. Melody then nominated Dee and Devens, while Devens won the subsequent Veto comp. Dee and Yash were the final nominees, with Yash becoming the second evictee of the night and the fourth jury member of Big Brother Season 28.

The Culture Comes Together as a Double Eviction Looms

As Julie Chen Moonves notes, with two weeks left in Big Brother Season 28, players will say and do anything to stay in the game. That explains mortal enemies Yash and Drew making a deal to give Drew safety, which makes Drew’s allies, Melody and Barrett, even bigger targets.

Barrett recognizes that with Drew off the block, that likely makes him the main target. Drew’s deal with Yash means theoretically he will have to vote to evict one of his friends, but as Drew points out his vote likely won’t matter as the Icons are unlikely to vote out Taylor and in the event of a tie Yash will definitely not vote to evict Taylor.

Meanwhile, Yash, Dee, Devens and Taylor formally name their alliance The Culture, in a nod to the group’s diversity. Despite the good vibes, Dee readily admits that she has a history of turning on her alliances as soon as they’re formed (just ask Mallory). So it’s no surprise when Dee says that if it comes down to it, she’ll cut Yash if it gets her closer to that $750K prize.

Drew pitches Barrett on the idea that after this vote it’ll be a game of duos — the Icons, Yash and Taylor and then Drew and Melody/Barrett. Drew hopes the Icons will recognize what a threat Yash is and target him next, but recognizes that even though he is closer to Melody, Barrett is a better comp threat and gives him a better chance to win.

However, it’s worth considering that Barrett is in a tough mental space. Seemingly nothing has gone right since he nominated the Icons. He lost his clothes and even feels like he’s lost his soul. Amidst this spiral, Devens comes into the Have-Not room and actually tries to lift Barrett’s spirits. They may never be allies in the game again, but Devens can’t turn off the dad in him and he treats Barrett with kindness. It’s a nice moment … until Barrett undercuts it a bit by suggesting in the diary room that he may have been squeezing out some crocodile tears to pull on Devens’ dad strings.

Devens also approaches Dee to discuss strategy in the event of a double eviction (which there is). Dee would love to show some loyalty to Yash since he saved her last week, but she’s not opposed to eliminating a threat like Yash — especially since she’s no longer protected by the BB Bribe. No matter what, Devens thinks the Icons have to get out either Drew or Yash if Barrett goes home first.

Drew is also thinking about a potential double eviction. He starts subtly nudging Devens in the direction of Yash, and hopes that the two could be on the same page. Devens, for his part, is encouraged that Drew came to him with this strategy talk and hopes that the 22-year-old is picking up on the vibes that he’s dropping, even if it isn’t clearly evident. Of course, Drew doesn’t and exits the conversation frustrated by Devens keeping an air of mystery between them. In the end, mixed signals between these should-be allies could drive Drew right into Yash’s arms.

Get out the vote

After a look at Angela and LaLa catching up in the jury house, we see Barrett finally get a bit of good news in the form of his missing laundry. The big man has his clothes back and feels like himself once again. Perhaps that emboldened Barrett to attempt to mend fences with Devens in the gym. Barrett has a simple pitch — if they keep him in the game, he will do WHATEVER the Icons want. Devens understands why a newbie like Barrett would put up an Icon, and thinks Barrett deserves to stay more than Melody. So can they let bygones be bygones? Maybe!

Meanwhile, Melody goes to work on Dee, looking to show that she’s willing to work with the former Survivor winner. She reveals that she wanted to keep Dee last week, but didn’t think the votes were there. But unlike Barrett with Devens, this pitch did not land with Dee. In fact, Dee says in the diary room that Melody’s pitch actually annoys her and might make Dee want to get rid of Melody even more. So mission not accomplished, Melody.

Taylor appears to be pretty safe, but she wonders whether or not she should pitch the Icons on why she should stay. In a bid to not make things look suspicious, Taylor approaches Yash and they discuss how the four should get together and talk. The pair also agree that they would rather have Barrett stay, as he is a stronger competitor to go against the Icons. Yash knows the Icons are out for Barrett’s blood, so does he think keeping Barrett is worth potentially drawing the Icons’ ire? He’s not sure.

In more potential bad news for Melody, Drew is noncommittal about whether he would vote to save her. He admits that he doesn’t know how he could vote out Melody if he’s the deciding vote as she’s his closest friend in the house, but he needs her to win something. Because if Melody can’t win anything, how is she going to help Drew get to the end of the game?

Melody changes her tune and earns her first win

That brings us to the final BB Blockbuster of the season, which Julie previewed earlier on Thursday.

The houseguests have been speculating all season about a ropes comp and how it would be tough for someone of Barrett’s height, so it was probably a good sign for him that production went with a gimbal comp instead. In fact, he is the first competitor to get a ball in his tube.

But Melody took the lead shortly thereafter and never looked back. Sinking her last ball proved to be something of a struggle, but for the first time this season, Melody claimed a victory and not a moment too soon. Without this win she was likely going home, but instead she immediately came off the block and saved her game for at least the moment.

Bye, Bye Barrett

With Melody off the block, that leaves Barrett vs. Taylor in the night’s first eviction vote.

Barrett was facing an uphill battle, as the Icons targeted him from the start of the week after his betrayal and Barrett’s ally Drew really couldn’t vote to keep him due to his deal with Yash.

Barrett makes one last pitch, noting that everyone should want to sit next to him and that he can be a shield, but he tells everyone to trust their gut. In the end, it wasn’t enough as all but Melody voted to evict Barrett, who went running out of the house to meet Julie. Even if production accidentally grayed out Melody’s face on the memory wall, lol.

Barrett admits that he could have done more to lock in a Survivor going home last week during his HOH reign, but he doesn’t regret putting all the Icons up. He didn’t want to just ride the Icons’ coattails, but now it’s moot as he’s off to jury house.

Melody goes 2-for-2 with HOH win

With Melody winning the final BB Blockbuster of the season, it means that moving forward there will only be two nominees for eviction. And that started immediately with the second eviction of the night, beginning with the HOH competition. And it just so happened to be a booth comp.

Dubbed “Bleeping Through Time,” the houseguests were challenged to view videos with statements from past and present houseguests with a bleeped out word or phrase. They had to determine if the word/phrase Julie tells them is true or false, with the houseguest with the most points becoming head of household.

As outgoing HOH, Yash was ineligible to play, putting him in some danger. After four videos there was a five-way tie at 3, but Melody locked in to win her second competition of the night and the power to immediately put two houseguests on the block.

Devens puts the pieces together to earn safety

It was no shock when Melody nominated the Icons, Devens and Dee, for eviction. She’s been anti-Icon all season. But the two Survivor alums still had a chance to earn their safety in a Power of Veto competition in which all houseguests would have a chance to compete.

The competitors were sent back to China in 1368 for the “Great Ball of China,” in which they would have to assemble their puzzle on the wall and then attempt to make a skill shot with the stone ball. The Survivor in Devens came out, as he assembled the puzzle first and got the skill shot in one try, to earn the Golden Power of Veto and his safety.

So with Devens coming off the block, who would Melody put up in his place? Obviously, Melody had to be concerned about the possibility of Drew voting to protect the other Icon, Dee, especially since he has not been particularly close with Yash or Taylor.

After testing Julie’s patience — don’t mess with Julie, Devens, Dee and Drew — Melody has to name a replacement nominee and she puts up Yash, who had put her up in the first vote. That brought us to a moment of truth — would Drew hold to his deal with Yash and vote out Dee, who it should be noted put Drew up on the block earlier in the season and has been paranoid about his loyalty all along?

So long to the Skullet

No matter how the vote went, a major threat was going to jury. Yash made a direct appeal to Drew, promising that if he kept him they would run it to the end and Yash would make it worth it to him. Dee takes the opposite tack, suggesting that Yash is the stronger competitor without making a direct appeal to the only vote up for grabs, Drew.

With three people voting, it took two to evict. The vote started as expected, with Devens voting to evict Yash and Taylor voting to evict Dee. So, which way would Drew go?

He took a minute to think it through and seemed conflicted, but ultimately Drew couldn’t pass on the opportunity to take out his nemesis Yash. He tried to couch it on Yash’s way out that he didn’t feel like he could beat him, but in all honesty I think Drew made a mistake. You get a chance to take out Dee, you got to do it. Unbelievably, Dee survives for the second week in a row and Yash is heading off to jury.

I will give Yash this credit: He mostly took the high road, not particularly blaming Drew. He did get one last dig in, however, saying he didn’t respect Drew’s game. At least he’s going to jury with that $5K from the BB Bribe and with the reputation of an all-time comp beast.
