Big Brother Power Rankings: Dee Reigns After Week 4 Blindside as Red Corner Looks Ready To Implode

After an epic blindside on Thursday’s live eviction episode (read my recap here), the power structure in the Big Brother Season 28 house could be in for a shakeup.

The biggest change as a result of the blindside could be the implosion of the Red Corner. The trio were shocked at the end of Thursday’s episode as the eviction vote didn’t go the way that Haley planned. As a result, the small-ish crack that had developed during the course of the week between Haley and Kamu has developed into a full blown fissure, with Chuk and Haley openly questioning whether Kamu is lying to their face. The Red Corner civil war has begun.

As a result, I have moved the entire Red Corner to the bottom of my power rankings. But if they’re falling, who is rising? Check out my full Big Brother Season 28 Power Rankings after Week 4 below.

Notable Risers

Dee and Devens have separated themselves from the rest of the field. They’re dominating the game, with each exhibiting strong influence over various players in the house. Combine that with their respective powers from the BB Time Capsule, and I think these two will likely swap the top spot for the foreseeable future. Dee gets the No. 1 spot this week for engineering the plan to save Drew and the blindside, with Devens remaining a solid No. 2 with plenty of influence in the house.

All that said, here are some other houseguests moving up the ranks.

Mallory (+2)

Kind of a mixed bag week for Mallory, but on the whole things are trending up a bit for Mallory.

She remains the strongest physical threat on the non-majority side of the house, which makes her valuable to them in a way other players are not. She also worked out a deal with Haley for safety, and has had a couple of game conversations with Devens, who appears open to working with her again. He even joined Mallory in one of her walks around the storage room.

Mallory is technically losing a number in Lyric, but the reality is Lyric already threw her under the bus this week and made it clearly that she would do whatever it took to stay in the game. So, I don’t know that Lyric was going to be as loyal to Mallory as Mallory was going to be to Lyric. And with the potential implosion of the Red Corner, the power structure of the house could be in line for a shakeup.

Finally, I think there is a decent chance Mallory gets voted into the BB Time Capsule. I think people will likely relate to her emotional diary room confessionals where she was gagged by Haley claiming she’s had a rough month in the Big Brother house. Combine that with the Icons all having had their turn in the Time Capsule, and I think the most likely candidates are Mallory, Melody or Drew. But if she does get the chance, Mallory HAS to win a power. I don’t want to see her walk out with a punishment, that would be a real punch to the gut and could lead to a major crashout on her part.

Taylor (+4)

What started out as a tough week for Taylor actually turned into something of a win. She went from being on the block as Haley’s target to actually working with the Icons to blindside the HOH by the end of the week.

This week burnishes Taylor’s resume, as winning the Power of Veto is a nice notch in her belt. It also appears she was able to successfully put on a bit of a mask when it came to working with players she doesn’t necessarily like (i.e. Haley). She also showed good instincts, coaching up LaLa on how to chat with Haley, even if Taylor herself ended up on the block.

Importantly, Taylor began developing a relationship with other parts of the house. She chatted with Devens about the plan to evict Lyric and seems to have some connection with Dee and Barrett, working with them to figure out how to spin the blindside on Thursday. If Taylor can continue to build a relationship with Dee and Devens that’s good for her game as they’re significantly stronger players than LaLa. I like where her game is headed right now. And for what it’s worth, so does Julie Chen Moonves.

Notable Fallers

Haley (-6)

Haley complained all week about how hard things had been for her in the first three weeks of the season. She and her allies never so much as sniffed the block, but she had it really tough, guys. Well, you want to talk about a tough week? Her HOH week turned out to be the toughest week possible.

Everything that could go wrong basically did go wrong for Haley. Not only did her time in the HOH room lay bare just how insufferable she is, likely destroying any slim chance she had to be voted into the BB Time Capsule, but it probably actively hurt her game with just about everyone in the house. Haley ruled with an iron fist, but as Princess Leia once said, the more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers. Well, substitute houseguests for star systems. But you get what I mean.

Then to make matters worse, Dee put on front street just how easy it is to manipulate Haley, and really the entire Red Corner. Dee, Devens and to a lesser degree Angela are running circles around the Red Corner strategically. Which was only compounded on eviction night, as Dee led the charge to not only save Drew, but to also save Melody (Haley’s sworn enemy). Even if Haley is trying to convince herself that Lyric is the stronger player, it’s undoubtedly a bad look that not only is Haley’s biggest nemesis still in the game but the outgoing HOH was COMPLETELY blindsided by how it happened. At least she gave us great meme fodder, though.

And the icing on the cake? The blindside not only made Haley look like a fool, but it has started the Red Corner civil war, with Haley and Chuk now openly distrusting Kamu. Oh, and Haley is further adding fuel to the fire of people disliking her by going around and arrogantly interrogating people for not doing what she told them to do. Just a terrible week for Haley. Her only saving grace is that she may be so toxic that houseguests might want to take her to the end just so they can sit next to her in front of a jury for an easy win.

Kamu (-7)

Really, the whole Red Corner had an awful week. Kamu previously had been the best of that bunch, but this game started taking hits this week as well.

Notably, throughout the week Kamu and Haley butted heads a bit over Lyric, who seemingly at one point had both Kamu and Chuk under her spell. This really irritated Haley, including to the point where Angela took note that perhaps Haley was a little jealous of Lyric’s hold on Kamu. Eventually, Kamu more or less fell in line with Haley’s plan for the week, but even right up to Thursday morning things were so off between the two that Kamu asked Haley if she was mad at him.

Then the blindside happened, which could be disastrous to Kamu’s game. For some reason, Chuk and Yash are convinced that Kamu is lying to them and now his standing is suddenly on shaky ground.

The fissure in the Red Corner got so bad so quick that Kamu even told Melody and Mallory that had he won the Wall comp for HOH (spoiler: he didn’t), Chuk would have been one of his nominations! Dee and Devens wanted to break the Red Corner sooner rather than later, and Thursday’s blindside might have done just that.
