Who Won HOH on Big Brother Tonight? Season 28 Week 10 Results

An Icon finally went home on Thursday. It just wasn’t the Icon Barrett wanted to see leave during his HOH.

Angela may be gone, but Devens (thanks to the BB Blockbuster) and Dee (thanks to a blindside from Yash and Taylor) remain and that could spell trouble for Barrett and Drew moving forward. And with Yash winning HOH — and still unable to nominate either Dee or Devens thanks to the BB Bribe — things aren’t likely to get any better.

Here’s what happened on Sunday’s Big Brother episode.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 10 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 10 with Yash outlasting the field to become the new Head of Household.

This was very interesting thanks to the BB Bribe that is still constraining Yash. As a result of accepting the $5K bribe from Dee earlier in the season, Yash could not nominate Dee or Devens. That left only Drew, Melody, Barrett and Taylor as options for nomination and guaranteed that Dee and Devens will survive at least the first eviction in Thursday’s double eviction episode. It also limits what Yash can do if a replacement nominee is needed — if one of the nominees wins the Pressure Cooker veto — or another player wins and uses it — Yash’s only eligible replacement nominee is his No. 1 ally, Taylor.

Will Yash be able to thread the needle as an HOH with his hands tied when it comes to the Icons? Or will he finally have to pay the price for accepting the BB Bribe and actually voting to save Dee when he could have gotten her out last week? We’ll all find out together as the week progresses.

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 33 recap

Is Barrett’s HOH an all-time blunder?

After Yash and Taylor blindsided Barrett, Melody and Drew by keeping Dee over Angela last week, Dee is emotional. Angela is gone, but Dee still can’t believe she somehow survived. And it didn’t escape her attention that after she went after Barrett in the Veto meeting he hid in the HOH room, allowing her to swing the vote in her favor.

Barrett thought the newbies were with him, and the fact that they went against him felt like a slap in the face. Drew thinks the way everything played out could make Barrett’s HOH reign one of the worst in Big Brother history. And Melody is pissed too, feeling like she has been a way better ally to Barrett and Drew than they have been to her. Bottom line — the remnants of For the American People are in shambles.

Meanwhile, Taylor explains that she and Yash needed the best two Icons to stay to help them in the numbers game against the Drew-Melody-Barrett trio. Now, Yash and Taylor have earned the Survivor Icons’ loyalty. As Taylor puts it, the tables have turned: Dee is grateful, and Devens is ready to roll with his new allies.

Barrett and Melody lament that Yash and Taylor made a deal with the Icons and now the HOH comp feels like 4-on-2, as Barrett is unable to compete. Yash is thrilled to see Drew unhappy, so he and Taylor decided to blame their deal with the Icons on information they received that Drew was planning on targeting Yash.

At the same time, Devens and Dee make it clear that they feel like Drew made a big mistake in voting to evict Dee. She claims she’s not mad to his face, but in the diary room she confirms — she’s raging inside. Drew is confused as he’s been their puppy dog all game, but Devens and Dee confirm with each other that they’re all in on Yash and Taylor. And there isn’t a place for Drew in it.

The Wet ‘n Wild West showdown for HOH

For the HOH comp, the houseguests were sent back to 1881, where they are sent to Tombstone. To escape some bad bandits, they had to fill their horse’s water trough by collecting cactus water with their cowboy hats. Once their trough was filled and the apple reached the top, they had to run through the gates to stop the clock. Fastest time wins.

Barrett is feeling helpless, as he is fearing the wrath of two of the best competitors in the game. Of course, Dee confirms that she would love nothing more than to put Barrett, Drew and Melody on the block. Taylor also is targeting Drew, while Yash wants to get the BB Bribe over with and put up Drew as well. That doesn’t make the competition easy, however, as Yash admits the hardest part is figuring out the pattern to collect the cactus water as it sprouts.

Taylor crashes through the gate with a time of 11:58, while Yash smashed that by nearly 30 seconds at 11:33 to set the time to beat.

Dee is happy to see Yash in the lead, but she wants to win so she can preserve the BB Bribe and have the satisfaction of nominating Barrett. Devens is also determined to win to take out his former allies and Melody. The former Survivor stars and Melody were all slip-sliding around the course, with all three failing to best Yash’s time.

That leaves Drew, who is nearly everyone’s target and Yash’s archenemy in the house. Barrett and Melody are counting on Drew, but it becomes clearly quickly that his confusion about who to trust has extended to this HOH comp and how to catch the water. But, he takes consolation that at least he “looks cool as hell” (sure, Drew, sure). In the end Drew doesn’t come close to Yash’s time, and is left all wet.

Yash gets another competition win, and he may be onto something when he says that you can’t lose if you win.

The BB Bribe’s golden curse strikes one last time

Not only has Yash guaranteed his own safety by winning HOH, but he’ll also finally be free of the BB Bribe after this week. Dee would have loved to keep the Bribe intact, but she’s happy to be safe—and even happier to see Barrett on the block, just as she predicted. Meanwhile, Barrett does the math and realizes that, because of the BB Bribe, Yash has no choice but to nominate him, Drew and Melody.

Melody is worried about the full extent of Yash’s relationship with the Icons and whether or not he has been lying about the extent of the BB Bribe (for the record, he has been). Drew has accepted that he’s going on the block and will be the target, which Yash immediately confirms to Melody. He floats that Drew has been saying his name to the Icons, but given that he is in power, Melody can’t be outwardly antagonistic toward him. Yash then pitches Melody that he wants to focus on getting Drew out this week, then with the Bribe off his back he will go back to targeting the Icons. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but it’s probably about the best he can do in the current circumstances.

Yash continues the anti-Drew agenda to Barrett, claiming that his vote to save Dee was because of Drew. And for some reason, Barrett is buying it. Barrett asks about nominating Devens, but Yash continues to lie, saying he made a handshake deal with Devens not to nominate him. Barrett seems to buy this, although he notes Yash could break the deal. I will say that I continue to be shocked how much people have bought into Yash’s lies. Barrett and Melody have been aligned with Drew the whole game, but the slightest bit of misinformation seems to set them off against him. Drew largely did this to himself with how he moved earlier in the game, but I suppose I must give Yash credit for being a phenomenal liar.

One thing Yash can’t lie about is the fact that if there is a renomination Taylor will have to go up. Yash and Taylor feel like Dee and Devens wouldn’t vote to evict her given they just formed an alliance, but Yash wonders if it makes more sense to put Taylor up from the start so she has the chance to win the Power of Veto rather than going up after it. It looks like the BB Bribe is tying his hands one last time before he is finally freed of its golden curse.

Welcome to the block

When it comes time for nominations, Yash just keeps it simple and goes with the three remaining members of the For the American People alliance — Drew, Melody and Barrett. Yash says he is repaying the favor for Drew actively trying to get him out of the game, and he already explained his reasons to Barrett and Melody.

Yash explains in the diary room that Drew is his target and that Melody and Barrett are collateral damage. But after this week, everyone is fair game. Drew is not surprised and knows that no one is going to save him but him. Melody says she doesn’t feel comfortable sitting against anyone at this point, while Barrett isn’t surprised and thinks that if Drew somehow did pull himself off the block he would become the backup target.

If any of the nominees want to take themselves off the block this week it will be more grueling than usual, as the veto comp will be the legendary Pressure Cooker competition. Hopefully for their sakes, they don’t crack under the pressure.
