Who Was Evicted on Big Brother Tonight? Season 28 Week 11 Results

Devens had a busy night on Sunday. He won the Tiny HOH to become head of household and took home $10K thanks to Big Brother 27 alum Vinny Panaro. But in guaranteeing himself that $10K he inadvertently triggered the Pharaoh’s Curse, which led to tonight’s Egyptian eviction.

Luckily for Devens, as HOH he was safe. Unfortunately for Melody, she wasn’t quite so lucky. After going up on the block and failing to win the Power of Veto, the corporate game show host was evicted and sent to jury house.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 11 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 11 with Devens winning tiny HOH to become the new Head of Household.

In addition, Big Brother 27 runner-up Vinny Panaro returned to the house and brought with him great treasure … and the Pharaoh’s Curse. As a result, Melody fell victim to the Egyptian Eviction, leaving Devens, Drew, Dee and Taylor as the Final 4 of Big Brother Season 28.

They won’t have long to celebrate, however, as Thursday’s two-hour episode will see a new HOH crowned, the final veto won and another houseguest sent to jury.

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 38 recap

Block Party for 2

We pick up right where we left off on Sunday, with Devens making his nominations. Despite thinking Drew is best for his game, Devens decided to put him up on the block with Melody. Devens tried to joke his way through his thinking on putting Drew before explaining that having a duo like Drew and Melody together in the Final 4 was just too risky.

Despite doing his best to soften the blow, Drew is pissed. He acknowledges that Devens was right to worry that he would have used the veto on Melody, but still come on Daddy Devens! Meanwhile, Melody is just riding the roller coaster of it all — going from block to Blockbuster winner to HOH to block again.

Devens admits that even he can’t fully trust that his No. 1 Dee will protect Drew, but he’s making it crystal clear — Devens wants Drew to stay. Unfortunately for them, a season of doubting Drew has left him feeling like he can’t fully trust the Icons, so he will be gunning for that Power of Veto.

Taylor says she loves Drew as a person … but proceeds to run through all the reasons she HATES him in the game and why she needs him to go. NOW. Meanwhile, she’s not the only one thinking ahead. Devens is alone on the balcony and runs down possible Final 2 scenarios. He thinks he wins against everyone … except for his No. 1 ally Dee. Devens says he gave up a lot to come on Big Brother and he wants to win this game. He can’t make the same mistake he made the first time he played Survivor — leading with his heart instead of his brain. But, he knows that Dee and Drew are his best path to Final 3 and that Drew is best for his game.

Drew comes to Dee and gets assurances that she’ll protect him … or so he thinks. Dee reveals in the diary room that he should NOT trust her as she will be sending him to jury if she has a shot. She wants to become the first person to win both Survivor and Big Brother and Drew is standing in her way. So if Dee has a chance to eliminate an obstacle she will 100 percent take that shot.

Block like an Egyptian

The houseguests were sent back to Egypt and Pharaoh’s tomb for the Veto competition. The houseguests would have to return the Pharaoh’s remains to the sarcophagus, but have to avoid booby-trapped ropes, which if triggered will lead to a strike. The player who returns the remains with the fewest strikes in the fastest time wins the Power of Veto.

Devens is up first, and wants to guarantee Melody goes home while protecting his baby boy Drew. He says he has to tamp down his inner Devens and go slow. But right on cue, he hits the booby-trapped ropes. The tomb is becoming a Temple of Doom for Indiana Devens, who continually hits the ropes and has the strikes piling up before returning the Mummy to his sarcophagus.

Drew doesn’t believe the Icons when they say they won’t target him and Taylor knows she could be a potential replacement nominee, so both are gunning for that Veto. Drew says his goal is to be calm, cool and collected. Unfortunately for him, he soon finds himself in some awkward angles. Taylor isn’t faring much better, however, and takes her frustration out on her mummy. You could say she has Mummy issues (for the record, I wrote this before Devens said it in the episode). Both eventually get the mummy back in his tomb, but not without a fair number of strikes.

Dee also wants to win to take her shot at Drew. Her strategy is to keep her mummy behind her and move fast to earn the best time, but she keeps hitting the ropes and knows she has to lock in. Melody struggles with the shape of the mummy, finding it frustrating. She is also racking up the strikes, even if she has no idea what is causing all of them. Both make it to the finish line, but neither can say they wrapped things up without incident.

In the end, Drew takes home the win and the Power of Veto with 15 strikes, defeating Dee (21 strikes) and Devens (22 strikes). Melody says she is happy for Drew as her friend, but knows this likely will send her game to the grave along with the Pharaoh. It’s not good news for Taylor either, as she knows she’s going to be the replacement nominee. Now both have to go to work to convince Dee that they are best for her game and should stay in the house.

The Curse of Drew

Devens informed Taylor that she was going up, but told her not to worry: Melody was his target, assuming the Pharaoh didn’t mess things up.

Drew knows that Melody is likely going to jury, but Melody is his No. 1 ally and he will NOT burn her. He says if Devens and Dee want her out, they’ll have to do it themselves. Devens is OK with Drew giving Melody a sympathy vote as he can still break the tie, assuming Dee votes with him. It’s the least he can do for Drew after everything he’s done to him this season.

All this weighs on Drew, however, as he feels all he has done this season is seal his friends’ fate. Every time fortune smiles on him, it frowns on his friends. It’s taking its toll on the 22-year-old. For her part, Melody knows sitting on the block next to Taylor doesn’t look good for her, but she’s not giving up and doesn’t want to leave.

Being on Big Brother is a dream come true, and she doesn’t want to wake up just yet. But beyond “calling” her mom on the fake phone as she’s done all season, can she do anything to keep herself in the game?

Melody’s game gets mumified

Melody makes her pitch to Dee, arguing that if Taylor makes it to Final 2 she will win given who is in jury. Melody says she wants a woman to win, and she promises she will take Dee to Final 2. Even if it comes down to Dee or Drew. This is music to Dee’s ears, as she’s really just looking for someone who will take her to Final 2 to go to Final 3 with herself and Devens.

Melody gets the sense that Dee wants Melody to stay, but won’t vote to keep her. Drew will give her a vote, but it all comes down to making her pitch to Devens, who would break a tie.

Unsurprisingly, Drew chooses to use the Power of Veto on himself and Devens formally puts up Taylor. But the Pharaoh strikes again, noting that the houseguests will face the Egyptian Eviction in the next hour. This prompts Melody to go big because otherwise she is going home, so she says she will be throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks.

Meanwhile, Taylor is living by the mantra, “Less is best” as she has been guaranteed safety. All she has to do is avoid talking herself into an eviction. Melody does make her pitch to Devens, again arguing that Taylor is just going to keep surviving and has the jury numbers in her favor. Melody even attempts to argue that deciding to keep Taylor will hurt his resume. She knows it’s a long shot, but it’s worth trying. Devens can see that Melody is emotional and knowing that her fate is in his hands is hard. He sees some merit in her argument, but is it enough to keep her over Taylor? We wouldn’t have to wait long to find out.

The Egyptian Eviction plays out as expected, with Drew voting to evict Taylor and Dee voting to evict Melody. That left it up to Devens to break the tie. Despite Melody’s earlier plea, he has to make the best decision that he can and that means voting to evict Melody.

Drew and Melody share one last hug, and she implores Drew to win it all. Drew finally got a chance to prove his loyalty in this game and wants to win it for Melody, who admits that she is already missing him. Does Melody’s eviction leave Devens as Drew’s closest ally? Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure — Dee is still gunning for him to ensure that Devens will take her to Final 3.

And that is coming sooner than expected, as a new HOH will be crowned, nominees will be revealed, the final veto will be won and another houseguest will be sent to jury in a two-hour episode on Thursday.
