After a cliffhanger to end Sunday’s episode, we found out tonight which houseguest was eliminated as a result of the medieval twist. Then, a new HOH was crowned, nominees went on the block and Zingbot made an appearance.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 8 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 8 of the summer-long competition in unusual fashion. Rather than immediately moving to an HOH competition, the houseguests were sent back to medieval times for another twist.

Sunday’s episode ended on a cliffhanger, but in the end, Haley could not earn a victory despite having three chances and was eliminated. Drew went on to win HOH, Yash won the veto comp and Devens was named as a replacement nominee.

Parting is such sweet sorrow (or not)

Picking up where we left off on Sunday, Barrett ultimately went against the Icons’ wishes and sent Yash back to the year 1000 to battle Haley along with LaLa. He says in the diary room that he is going to make decisions that are best for his game, and he doesn’t understand why the Icons are so focused on protecting Haley. And for his part, Yash is ready to rain on the Icons’ parade.

Haley is surprised to see Yash make his appearance in the year 1000, but she’s ready to lock in. Also making his appearance is Keanu Soto from Big Brother Season 27, aka the king. He is upset about the houseguests crushing his hog, but he is just, so he will allow one of the houseguests to choose who pays the price for their indiscretion. But first, they have to flatter Keanu by making him a new crown fit for a king.

Haley gets off to a fast start, but Yash and LaLa aren’t far behind and all three are struggling to make the second set of pieces fit properly. Haley is also the first to finish the set of pieces and move on to bag three, followed by LaLa and Yash. Meanwhile, back in the house, Dee and Angela are worried about Haley since they feel like she would definitely have been a number for them moving forward. But like Barrett says, after Dee was selfish last week in nominating Mallory over Haley, maybe it was his turn to be selfish.

Yash has an epiphany and becomes the first to finish his crown fit for King Keanu and win the competition. And he follows through on his plan, eliminating Haley and ending her Big Brother game. Haley is disappointed and left with what-ifs as Yash and LaLa return to the house and reveal to the rest of the crew that Haley is finished. The Icons are NOT thrilled, but Taylor thinks this is the best-case scenario for the other side of the house.

With the conclusion of the twist, we’ve now entered the jury phase of the season. The next houseguest eliminated on Thursday will become the first member of the jury for Big Brother Season 28.

Time for a reality check for the reality Icons?

With Haley gone, Taylor sees the next HOH comp as vitally important with the makeup of the house 5-on-4, but for the first time this season the numbers are not in the Icons’ favor since Barrett has switched sides. And Yash is ready for someone (not him, however, because he can’t nominate the Icons) to win HOH and give the reality vets a reality check.

Dee and Devens also think they need to win HOH, with Devens worrying that Dee could become a bigger target after winning the first competition in the twist. He also knows they need to continue making Barrett feel appreciated. Meanwhile, Drew is trying to repair his relationship with Melody, who is still upset with him over the Mallory vote and him lying to her all season. She isn’t a member of the Crossovers, but his ideal final six includes all five Crossovers members and Melody. He even goes so far as to tell her that he would never put her up. Despite liking Drew personally, Melody’s walls are up. For now, she plans to act as though everything is good between them.

Meanwhile, Barrett tells Melody that he is not planning to play the jury phase of the game the same way he played the first half of the season. He says if he wins HOH, the Icons should be nervous and he tells Melody he will prioritize her game over everyone else’s, just like he was going to do for Mallory. That all sounds good to her, but as with Drew, she doesn’t fully trust Barrett either, as he also lied to her all season. But at this stage, she really doesn’t have much choice but to continue to rock with Drew and Barrett. But the difference now is that she’s doing so with her eyes wide open.

Look who’s back, back again. Zingbot’s back, tell a friend

Just when you think they’ve done everything that can possibly be done to these houseguests, who should appear but the legendary Zingbot!

And as usual, none of the “losers” are safe, with Zingbot targeting everyone from Barrett and his “pepperoni” to “wrinkly, leathery old heavy bag” Devens. Of course, Zingbot slung some arrows at Melody, Dee and Taylor. But some of the best zings were saved for Zingbot’s old “friend” Angela and the house’s baby boy, Drew.

With the roasting complete, Zingbot has one more surprise waiting for the houseguests: the next Head of Household competition.

Drew has an ama-zing performance to win power

Of course, Zingbot couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use the dinner table time machine to make his mark on history. After a quick trip through time, Zingbot returns and sends the houseguests to the Hall of Zing for the Head of Household competition. That is bad news for Taylor, who hates field trips, but potentially worse news for the Crossovers. With outgoing HOH Dee ineligible and Barrett secretly prepared to nominate every Icon, the alliance is functionally outnumbered 5-3.

In order to win the HOH comp, the houseguests watched two parts of a video, 2026: A Zing Odyssey, and answered a series of questions to earn points. Dee can’t play, and Yash wants someone else to win HOH and target the Icons because his BB Bribe deal with Dee prevents him from nominating them himself. But his plan is to last as long as possible to help his allies.

After seeing Zingbot zing through the ages in Part 1, everyone but Angela is tied for the lead with three points. In Part 2, Yash is in the lead heading into the final question despite wanting to throw the comp. He says being a comp beast is a blessing and a curse. He wants to try to throw the final question to force a tie with Melody, but Drew also finishes tied with Yash and Melody. It’s a big moment, as Melody desperately wants to put all the Icons on the block and Drew wants to prove himself to the Icons … and Melody.

The tiebreaker asks the competitors to figure out how long in minutes it was between the first competition in the year 1000 and when Yash and LaLa returned after the last. Drew is the closest to the correct answer and becomes the Head of Household. It’s a dream come true for Drew … and a nightmare for Yash. And now Barrett has to pretend to be Crossovers strong again. In his words, “Yay.”

Welcome to the block

Drew plans to keep the Crossovers and Melody safe as HOH, so it makes his nominations easy — Yash, LaLa and Taylor. But the mission for Yash this week is to get out an Icon, and he couldn’t have done it if he were HOH thanks to the deal he made with Dee. So now he just has to get comfortable with the block.

Drew being HOH isn’t the worst thing in the world for Melody, but she’s still upset with him. She’ll continue flirting with him, but she would be really impressed if Drew put up an Icon. Of course, that’s not his plan, much to Barrett’s dismay. But as much as he wants to shake some sense into Drew, Barrett has to be careful what he says because he doesn’t want Drew to go running back to the Icons.

For some reason, Devens has a wild idea — he wants Drew to put him up as a pawn with the idea of potentially backdooring Yash. It feels like a big play, and Devens thinks he needs a big play to win the game. And Drew is definitely open to the idea, but he doesn’t know if he wants to put Devens in harm’s way. Devens calls it a calculated risk, while Dee calls it stupid. She’s afraid that he’s underestimating Drew and Barrett and the potential for one of them to flip.

In the end, Drew decides to play it safe and stick with the easy block of LaLa, Taylor and Yash. He decides it isn’t worth the risk of something going wrong and Devens ending up in danger. Taylor thinks Drew is obsessed with her, and LaLa is upset at the “weasel” Drew for putting her on the block. But Yash recognizes business is business and that’s why he’s on the block.

Unfortunately for him, Melody thinks Drew’s nominations are embarrassing and lack backbone. She likes him as a person and considers him a friend, but their game interests continue to diverge.

Yash goes up and chats with Drew and points out that there were bigger moves he could have made, reminding him that he didn’t put Drew up while Dee did. Yash isn’t worried about this conversation, however, because he says when he wins the veto Drew is going to have to make a renom and finally get blood on his hands. And Yash can’t wait to see it.

Yash strikes gold 

When it comes time to select the remaining veto players, Dee and Melody are chosen to compete. Dee wants to win to help keep Drew’s nominations the same and protect Devens from himself. Melody wants to win to force Drew to put up one of the people he’s working with. She even warns him that he won’t like it if she wins, because she is going to use the veto and take someone off.

Drew thinks this is a bummer, and compares their situation to that of Romeo and Juliet. The only way Drew sees to avoid a tragic ending is to win the veto himself and keep his nominations intact.

For the veto competition, the houseguests are sent back to the year 1849 and must transfer 25 gold nuggets from their mine cart to a prospecting pan across a balance beam. If they fall off, they must reset all their gold and start over. The first player to finish wins the Power of Veto.

As Dee points out, balance is the key to this competition. Yash goes slow and steady, carefully controlling the pressure on his pan. It appears to be the correct strategy because one wrong move forces a complete reset … a lesson LaLa learns the hard way repeatedly.

Yash is the first to put all 25 nuggets in his pan and all he has to do is hit the buzzer. As he points out, it’s him versus him at this point. And once again, Yash pulls off another win, taking the Power of Veto and making Drew’s week just a little bit harder.

Where do Drew’s loyalties lie?

Barrett loves that Devens is continuing to offer himself up as a potential replacement nominee. However, Drew is toying with the idea of nominating Melody, but he is wary of the Icons’ tendency to flip votes. And he doesn’t want to risk the possibility of Melody going to jury during his HOH reign. Because let’s be real — Melody won’t be singing a sweet tune if her closest friend Drew puts her up on the block, never mind if she actually gets sent to jury with him in power.

Just in the nick of time, Melody heads to the HOH room to ensure that Drew does not make her the replacement nominee. He admits that he is considering putting her up, but Melody has some fun working her “magic,” as she puts it. The approach appears successful, and the target begins to move off her back.

But you know who isn’t putting in any work? Dee, who, let’s not forget, put Drew on the block last week and just evicted his friend Mallory. Drew begins to wonder why not nominate Dee? Even the worst-case outcome would remove a dangerous player and send her to the jury. And she hasn’t really even made an effort to connect with Drew.

Meanwhile, Dee suggests to Devens that they should push a plan to nominate Melody as she is sensing danger. If she were in their shoes, she would flip on the Icons. All three Icons try to strong-arm Drew, with Angela saying they’re Drew’s “team.” Devens wants the credit for volunteering to go on the block … without actually going on the block. Dee tries to Jedi mind trick him into proving he is loyal to the Crossovers, but in actuality it reminds him how selfish Dee is being. But, even though he would prefer to put up Dee in a case of an eye for an eye, he sees Devens as the path of least resistance.

Be careful what you wish for, Devens

As expected, Yash uses the Power of Veto on himself. And Drew gets right to the point and names Devens as the replacement nominee. He volunteered, after all, and puts the least amount of blood on his hands. Plus, Drew is convinced they have the votes to keep Devens.

Yash is feeling good, pointing out that he couldn’t nominate an Icon but he can sure vote to send one to jury. Taylor is also thrilled, speaking into existence the idea that Devens is leaving the house this week. And Barrett wants to remind the audience that in Big Brother, pawns goes home.
