Who Was Evicted on Big Brother Tonight? Season 28 Week 8 Results

Things in the Big Brother house can turn on a dime. Nowhere is that more evident than the place where Devens found himself going into tonight’s live vote.

Last week, I had him in the No. 1 spot in my Power Rankings after he successfully masterminded a plan to evict Mallory. He seemed to be playing a great game and looked to be in a strong spot. But after making the HUGE mistake of volunteering to become Drew’s replacement nominee, Devens suddenly found himself in a do-or-die situation: Win the BB Blockbuster or become the season’s first juror.

The Survivor Icon delivered when he needed to, winning the BB Blockbuster and leaving Taylor and LaLa on the block. By a vote of 4-2, LaLa was evicted and became the first member of the Big Brother Season 28 jury.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 8 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 8 of the summer-long competition in unusual fashion. Rather than immediately moving to an HOH competition, the houseguests were sent back to medieval times for another twist.

Sunday’s episode ended on a cliffhanger, but in the end, Haley could not earn a victory despite having three chances and was eliminated. Drew went on to win HOH, Yash won the veto comp and Devens was named as a replacement nominee. Then on Thursday, Devens won the BB Blockbuster, leaving Taylor and LaLa on the block. In the end, LaTrice was evicted and became the first jury member of Big Brother Season 28.

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 28 recap

Welcome to the (block) party, pal!

As Julie Chen Moonves reminds us, if Devens can survive two more days in the house he’ll have spent more days in the Big Brother house than he did playing in both of his seasons of Survivor combined. But will he make it? Volunteering to become the replacement nominee was a dangerous move, and Dee has no idea why he agreed to it. She would NEVER, EVER volunteer for the block.

Melody, Yash and Taylor agree that they want Devens to feel safe, so they plan on telling anyone who asks that Barrett would not vote to evict him. Which is not true, as Barrett has said he is willing to vote out Devens. However, Angela sees Melody, Yash and Taylor in the backyard together and fears they know something that she doesn’t and that something may be off.

Devens still isn’t worried, thinking that he is still good with Barrett and Drew. Dee may still be his No. 1, but Devens doesn’t actually want to sit next to her in the Final Two. Instead, he envisions reaching the end with Barrett and Drew. At the same time, Drew asks Barrett not to wear Mallory’s scrunchie as it is sussing Drew out. Devens sees this as the issue it is — you don’t want to give Barrett a reason to feel like they don’t trust him. He also tells Angela to stop being paranoid about people hanging out together because it makes him worried and could have an impact on Barrett. His attitude is that there’s nothing they can do about it at this point.

At the same time, Barrett is out back joking with Melody, Yash and Taylor about that very prospect. However, Barrett plans to spend as much time with the Crossovers as possible to make them think he’s still with them … even though he can’t wait to blindside Devens. Barrett recognizes the Crossovers are an easier path, but he isn’t content to ride someone else’s waves. He wants to create his own.

Is another vote flip in the works?

Angela still can’t let her paranoia go, and awkwardly tells Barrett that she does trust him, which he takes note of. Things only get more awkward when Dee and Devens appear in the storage room too. Angela wants a group hug, but could it be the last one for the Crossovers? Barrett seems to hope so.

However, Angela isn’t the only one feeling paranoid. Dee is actually starting to get paranoid too … about Devens. She is not happy that he has been spending so much time with Drew and Barrett and it is starting to get the gears moving in her head.

Devens rises from the ruins

That brings us to the pivotal BB Blockbuster, titled “Your Game In Ruins,” which Julie Chen Moonves previewed earlier on Thursday.

After a slow start for all three competitors, Devens and Taylor begin to get the hang of the game while LaLa continues to struggle. Ultimately, the Survivor Icon survives, becoming the first competitor to get four spheres in his tube, taking himself off the block. And with that, Devens will officially spend more time in the Big Brother house than he did across both of his Survivor seasons combined.

That means the house missed its shot to take out an Icon and that either LaLa or Taylor will become the first member of the Big Brother Season 28 jury.

With Devens off the block, that leaves a less clear-cut decision: Taylor or LaLa? Interestingly, Barrett immediately goes to work, holding quick conversations with Angela, Devens and Dee. LaLa emphasizes in her speech that she is a person who can win comps moving forward, while Taylor just advises the other houseguests to do what’s best for their individual games.

Despite a brief exchange in the hallway, Angela and Dee are not on the same page: Dee votes to evict LaLa, while Angela votes to evict Taylor. But after shoutouts to the Packers (Yash) and Becca Devens (Devens), LaLa was evicted by a vote of 4-2, becoming the first member of the Big Brother Season 28 jury.
