Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next? Episode 8 Predictions

Published:

By: Andy Silva

The tribes have merged on Survivor 51! That was great news for Devin and Jelly, who were down to a two-person alliance, but ended up with the resident pro wrestler down for the count and staring up at the lights.

That’s right, Brady became the first member of jury after a 9-4 vote at Tribal Council.

This was a wild week with a lot of names and plans thrown out there. How will that affect the game moving forward? And will there be any residual reputational damage to any of Episode 7’s potential targets?

Check out who could be going home in Survivor 51 Episode 8, “Load the Ark, Two by Two.”

Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next?

Eric

Let’s start with Eric. Several times this season it’s felt like Eric was on the precipice of danger, surviving in the game by the skin of his teeth. For much of the season, it felt as though he didn’t have many true allies and that more than anything he was seen as a nuisance, but his danger level has dropped over the past several weeks.

However, the implosion of his bromance with Kilby could put the target right back on Eric’s back. Eric was deeply hurt by Kilby’s betrayal two weeks ago, and as a result now sees him as a massive threat in the game to be eliminated. However, his pitch this week to vote out Kilby hit a snag when he, as per usual, was perhaps a bit overeager. Brady saw through his ploy and all of a sudden the target went back on Eric rather than Kilby.

Four castaways put their votes on Eric, and those four could be out for revenge after Eric stayed and Brady went home. Also, I think Kilby has some influence in camp, so I can easily envision a scenario where Kilby burns Eric again and works to build up numbers against him. And let’s just be real here: Eric can be a lot. I’m sure having everyone at one camp could lead to Eric getting on everyone’s nerves once again. Eric seems like a decent enough guy, just not someone you necessarily want to hang with 24/7. So there’s always a possibility that people just get tired of dealing with him and his usefulness is outweighed by a desire to not have his personality at camp any longer.

Mike

Getting right to the point: If Mike had not won the Immunity Challenge this week there is a good chance he would have gone home.

Mike felt last week like he was on the outs with Toka and he wasn’t wrong — Brady was plotting against him, with Thien An and Carter on the pro wrestler’s side. He also rubbed Kristin the wrong way when he fell back on his training as a baseball executive and offered her a “trade.” Unfortunately for Mike, Kristin saw his trade as having little value given his position in the game and actually made her less inclined to align with him.

The good news for Mike is that thanks to the merge he’s back with Jelly, who is a Day 1 ally for him. The problem is, we know that she is ride-or-die with Devin, so if push comes to shove that’s where her loyalties lie. We’ve seen Devin talk about how his mindset will be focused on prioritizing his own game moving forward, so if a plan brews against Mike we know he’s not going to worry about Jelly’s feelings on the matter.

Too many people seem wary of Mike and his name has been in too many people’s mouths for it not to become an issue sooner rather than later. Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and the way things are heading it looks Mike won’t have to worry about making said fire because he’ll already be in jury by that point in the game.

Kristin

Kristin being in this spot is honestly a surprise to me, but follow my logic here.

As I noted last week, the tethered idol combined with Ori going home should have made Kristin target Sharonda in order to make it a full-fledged idol for herself. Instead, Kristin worked toward forming an even stronger bond with Sharonda, revealing the entire truth behind the idol and actually giving it to Sharonda in a show of loyalty.

I can see Kristin’s logic in that move, but for now it means that Kristin can still only play the idol on Sharonda. Which comes into play when Maggie starts targeting Kristin. Going after Kristin makes sense as everyone knows she went to Exile, so there could be an assumption that she left with an advantage of some sort (which, yes, she did, but it’s just not something she can play for herself right now). Maggie’s also not wrong to point out how skilled Kristin is. Let’s not forget that Kristin has pitched herself as an asset because of the depth and variety of skills she possesses. While that is true, it also could conceivably be flipped as an excuse to vote her out.

Maggie might not have been the best messenger, and she wasn’t able to sway Mike and Jelly this week, but that’s not to say that someone else couldn’t come to the same conclusion and pitch a plan to blindside Kristin more effectively.
