What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Wednesday’s episode was a war. Drew blew up Taylor and LaLa’s games at the nomination ceremony, telling Dee in front of the house that both women had talked about targeting the Icons. Taylor and LaLa denied it. Yash and Barrett backed up parts of Drew’s story. LaLa continued calling Drew a “sneaky little liar” and the fight spilled into the backyard — but the damage was done. Drew’s “drewth” shifted Dee’s focus off him and may have taken the target off his back.

LaLa won the Power of Veto in an ’80s workout-themed competition, beating Taylor and Barrett in a tongue-twisting final round. Drew was eliminated first. LaLa used the veto on herself, and Dee named Mallory as the replacement nominee.

The Mallory nomination was Devens’ idea. He doesn’t trust her, sees her as a threat to the Icons, and wants to break up the For The American People alliance since it holds the majority within the Mosh Pit. Dee told Drew and Barrett about the plan, and despite Drew’s displeasure, Barrett rolled over — like he always does with Dee.

Dee told Mallory directly that she was going up. Mallory was dumbfounded, then furious. She said in the diary room that she hates Dee, that the Survivor players are the worst allies ever, and that if she survives, Dee is her No. 1 target. Melody called Dee a coward. The Mosh Pit is officially dead.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight

The BB Blockbuster

Drew, Taylor and Mallory each get one final shot to save themselves before the live vote. This is as high-stakes as the Blockbuster gets — all three are genuinely in danger depending on who wins, and none of them can count on the other to stay over them.

Drew survived the veto ceremony by blowing up Taylor and LaLa, which shifted the target off his back. But he was eliminated first in the veto comp, so his competitive track record isn’t inspiring confidence. Taylor isn’t aligned with and if she sitting with Drew on the block, the votes are likely locked against her. Mallory has been the strongest physical competitor among the non-Icon women all season, and she’s competing with pure fury after being betrayed by her own alliance. If anger translates to performance, Mallory is dangerous.

The 1,000th episode of Big Brother

Thursday marks the 1,000th episode in Big Brother history — a milestone that spans 28 seasons and over two decades of the show. Given the landmark nature of the episode, producers have promised a twist that has never been done before. But the game doesn’t stop for celebrations, and whoever goes home Thursday becomes the answer to a trivia question forever.

Mallory’s betrayal and the death of the Mosh Pit

Mallory threw the HOH comp. She said it herself — and now she regrets it. She finds herself on the block because the people she trusted to protect her decided she was expendable. Devens pitched it. Dee executed it. Barrett rolled over. Drew protested weakly but ultimately accepted it.

Mallory is screaming mad. She said in the diary room that she hates Dee and that the Survivor players are the worst allies ever. Melody is equally furious, calling Dee a coward for choosing the path of least blood on her hands. The For The American People alliance is fractured — Drew and Barrett kept feeding information to the Icons all season, and now Mallory and Melody are paying the price for their allies’ loyalty to the wrong side.

If Mallory survives Thursday, she becomes an immediate threat to the Icons. She said Dee is her No. 1 target. That’s not idle talk — Mallory has been recognized as a physical competitor all season. The Icons know this, which is exactly why Devens pushed for her nomination.

Drew’s “drewth” gambit

Drew’s nomination ceremony blowup was self-serving, but effective. He called out Taylor and LaLa for targeting the Icons — something everyone in the house had talked about at some point — and it worked. Dee’s focus shifted off of Drew now that he picked a side, finally, after weeks of playing the middle.

But the cost was enormous. Taylor and LaLa hate him. Melody is losing trust in him. Mallory is on the block partly because Drew and Barrett’s information pipeline to the Icons made the entire FAP alliance vulnerable. Devens overheard Drew and Barrett questioning their place with the Icons and now sees them as children who need to be managed rather than allies to be respected. Drew could survive the week, but if he does the relationships he torched to do it aren’t coming back.

Devens as the puppet master

Devens compared himself to a father watching his kids (Drew and Barrett) misbehave. He (sort of) overheard his boys complaining about the Icons, then waited for them to come crawl back and apologize. They did. He said he’s “not mad, just disappointed” and decided their friend (Mallory) has to pay the price.

It’s manipulative, and it’s working. Devens orchestrated the Mallory nomination. He convinced Angela. He convinced Dee. And Drew and Barrett fell in line despite it going directly against their stated alliance. Devens isn’t just running the game alongside Dee — he’s running the people who think they’re playing with him as equals.
