LaLa officially took herself off the block Monday, and the Power of Veto ceremony may have put even more interesting moves in motion for the nascent Mosh Pit alliance.
Mallory is now sitting next to Drew and Taylor, Drew and Barrett somehow seem to be drifting even closer to the Icons, and LaLa is suddenly making some of her best moves of the season.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 7 Results
Sunday’s episode began Week 7 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. And coming out of a Viking-themed balance beam comp, Dee outlasted the field to become the new Head of Household.
A week after facing her first real danger of the season, Dee is back in power. She’s been at the top of my power rankings all season, and now seems primed to ensure the Icons continue to dominate the game, thanks in part to Devens’ use of the Diamond of Power of Veto last week. Can Dee further the Icons’ agenda? We’ll have to see how this week plays out!

Big Brother Monday Live Feed Spoilers
On the Block Blues
So the big news of the day is LaLa using the Power of Veto and removing herself from the block, as expected. Thus, Dee has to make a replacement nominee and as expected she puts nominal Mosh Pit ally Mallory on the block. So now two members of the Mosh Pit – and the For the American People quartet — are on the block together in Drew and Mallory.

As expected, Mallory is not taking this news well. She blames (probably relatively accurately) Drew and Barrett for her predicament, while also hyping herself up, saying that she’s going to win HOH and there will be hell to pay. To that end, she gets a little practice on a pillow named Dee.

That frustration point blank led Mallory to ask Barrett, who is one of her top allies, why he’s up in the HOH room with the person currently ruining her life? He denies that he’s having fun with Dee, which is both somewhat true and somewhat not true. For what it’s worth, Devens is worried that Barrett is more upset about the Mallory nomination than Dee thinks, but she thinks he’s just super sad. Which seems to be more the case, as I think Barrett is incapable of being mad unless the Icons tell him to be.
Either way, the result seems to be the desired effect for the Icons — between Devens’ masterful manipulation earlier in the week and the impending doom facing Mallory, Drew and Barrett will be running short on options outside of being aligned with the vets. But after all that’s happened, there’s no way that Drew and Barrett don’t see that they are being used by the Icons, right? RIGHT?!? Well…

LaLa makes some moves
Being off the block is good news for LaLa not only in the sense that it guarantees that she’ll be in the house for another week, but in the sense that it gives her room to maneuver and strengthen connections in the house.
With that in mind, she goes to work. She has a conversation where she discusses working together with Barrett, and is able to talk enough game with Dee to learn an important piece of information — the true target for the week. Which LaLa is then able to pass along to her closest ally Taylor.

Even more surprisingly, LaLa and Devens — who, remember, is the person LaLa specifically wanted to target when she was HOH — agree to align! He goes even further, giving LaLa more confirmation that he considers Mallory to be the week’s target and is open to keeping Taylor.

I think this is LaLa’s best gameplay of the season, and proves that even without Taylor pulling her strings she has a chance in this game. I think all the newbies are getting better at the game as we move along, which reduces the Icons’ advantage as reality veterans. Which could certainly come into play if, and really when, they get ready to take their shot at the Icons. The old saying of “don’t play with your food” comes to mind.

Yash pointed out in Sunday’s episode that “baby boy” Drew is all about making “daddy” Devens happy. Keeping that in mind, it’s good to see some quality father-son time in the Big Brother house.

Despite not trusting him, Melody still seems to be connected with Drew in some way. That doesn’t mean her “mom” is a fan, however.
