Devens did Devens things once again last week. After blindsiding Rome during his HOH reign, Devens was back at it, blindsiding Kamu and Yash with his Diamond Power of Veto.
In the end, Devens was left basking in the afterglow, while Yash lamented his perfect HOH getting derailed and LaLa felt upset and betrayed by the house.
It was a successful move for Devens in terms of last week, but where does that leave him moving forward? Did it paint a bigger target on his back from anti-Icon competitors like Yash and Taylor? And would the power shift stay with the Icons and their new Mosh Pit alliance?

Big Brother Season 28 Week 7 Results
Sunday’s episode began Week 7 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. And coming out of a Viking-themed balance beam comp, Dee outlasted the field to become the new Head of Household.
A week after facing her first real danger of the season, Dee is back in power. She’s been at the top of my power rankings all season, and now seems primed to ensure the Icons continue to dominate the game, thanks in part to Devens’ use of the Diamond of Power of Veto last week. Can Dee further the Icons’ agenda and make it feel like fait accompli that they will make it all the way to the jury phase of Big Brother Season 28? We’ll have to see how this week plays out!

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 23 recap
Betrayal backlash
In the aftermath of Kamu’s eviction, Devens and Angela are over the moon. But other people in the house are a little less excited. Mallory is feeling a bit guilty for lying to Yash and Taylor, as she has a better relationship with them than the Icons.
Meanwhile, LaLa is extremely emotional to have been left out of the loop on how the house was voting. She says every time she has a group it gets dismantled and she’s disgusted, but all she can do is move forward. Meanwhile, Yash is pissed at Drew, thinking that he and Barrett are dedicated to the Icons and that the “spineless” Drew will do whatever “daddy” Devens says. Yash proceeds to blow up Drew’s game a bit, revealing that at one point he had a Final 2 with Kamu, which only deepens Melody’s growing distrust of Drew. Not good.
Yash is LIGHTING UP Drew, saying he’s no man for betraying him like he did and for taking orders from “daddy” Devens and that the great men of history (a truly wild comparison, btw) would not be impressed. Worse, now Yash thinks he’s going to be up on the block every week moving forward. Meanwhile, Taylor reveals to LaLa that they didn’t have the votes to save Kamu because Drew and Barrett were siding with the Icons. Taylor and LaLa are angry, and feel like it’s them and Yash against the world.
Dee finds the right balance to win HOH
The doorbell rings and it’s Big Brother seasons 18 and 19 competitor Paul Abrahamian, here to host the HOH competition. He’s taking the houseguests back to the Viking era, 851 to be exact.
In a competition dubbed Norse by Northwest, the Houseguests are forced to race around the training course, hitting all six buttons in the fastest time possible. The player with the fastest time will be crowned the new HOH. Devens, LaLa and Angela all talk about how important winning this HOH comp is, but in the end Dee earns HOH honors by following her strategy to a tee.
It should be noted that Melody, Mallory and Barrett all seem to be OK with not winning HOH this week, which is certainly a choice. It certainly prevents them from getting blood on their hands, but as I said in my Power Rankings on Friday, at some point you have to make a move. Now they’re at the mercy of their nominal ally, Dee.
We’ll see if this works out for them, but for her part Dee is thrilled to be HOH again and plans to come after the people saying her name and doing it with a big smile on her face. Drew is also happy, as he has been feeding info to Dee all season, but Taylor says this is a worst-case scenario for her. Dee is one of three people she definitely did not want to see win HOH, and now she thinks it will be an interesting week ahead.
Doubting Drew
After a week on the block, Dee is out for blood. She’s coming after everyone saying her name, and Drew is OK with that as he thinks she will target the people they just blindsided in the Kamu vote last week. Meanwhile, Yash thinks he is cooked as he just put Dee up. He is really regretting not taking her BB Bribe last week.
Of course, Devens is psyched to see his fellow Survivor alum back in power, as this could be a chance to solidify the Mosh Pit. Dee wants to backdoor Yash, but she wants to build back a relationship with Haley and doesn’t want to put her up. Dee wants to solidify trust with the Mosh Pit, while targeting LaLa, Taylor and Yash.
LaLa, meanwhile, is feeling like she wants to go home as it is beginning to feel like being in this house is a waste of time. Taylor thinks it is time to start playing nasty, and she says she is ready to get down in the gutter. Dee gets right to the point and tells LaLa that she is considering her as a potential nominee because LaLa was coming for Dee during her HOH. Of course, LaLa says everyone was coming after the Icons, so she throws Drew, Mallory and Melody under the bus right quick. She tries to play it off as only wanting Devens, but Drew has already told Dee all of this. However, it does put a seed of renewed doubt in Dee’s mind about Drew. Did he lead this effort more than he let on? It’s something she’s going to have to think about.
Welcome to the block
Dee still has the BB Bribe and has a new plan. She wants to go back to Yash and see if she can make a deal with him to protect the Icons.
First, she wants to know who was coming for Dee and Angela. Yash admittedly straight up lies, putting all the blame on Drew and Barrett. But, it is providing a bit of confirmation bias for Dee, so she’s kind of buying into his lies. And it further strengthens Dee’s conviction to offer Yash the BB Bribe once again. She’ll give him the $5K if he agrees to keep the Icons safe for the entire week the next time he’s HOH. Oh, and if he turns it down? She’s going to consider putting him on the block this week.
Quite an ingenious offer/threat from Dee. If Yash accepts it is binding, but he wants a non-binding verbal agreement that they won’t target him during their next HOH reigns. It’s the best he can do, and the Icons all verbally commit, so Dee and Yash have a deal. Dee is thrilled because Yash is a strong competitor and it feels like making this deal gives her maximum value. Yash is annoyed to have to make a deal with the Icons, but it’s self-preservation and he has to make the deal.
With Yash more or less off the table, now who does Dee want to put up? She feels like she has to put up someone from the Mosh Pit, and she wants to corner Drew a bit in a Mosh Pit meeting with the goal of finding a perfect excuse to put him up. Dee wants to get the story straight about what happened during Yash’s HOH, and wants to bring Yash into the room to air everything out. Drew isn’t feeling great being called out. Yash continues to throw Drew under the bus, but Drew doesn’t know what he can or can’t say and is feeling uncomfortable. In the end, Yash admits to camera that he is straight up lying about Drew, but he comes off looking more truthful and is giving Dee even more confirmation bias. And even Drew has to admit this meeting wasn’t good for him and made him look even more suspicious.
It’s a pretty grimy move on Yash’s part, but it’s sort of the name of the game. You don’t have to like it, but on some level you have to respect Yash going into the lion’s den and emerging victorious. Eventually playing in the middle was going to come back and bite Drew, and this may have been that moment.
Drew wins a power in the BB Time Capsule
America had the chance to send one more houseguest into the BB Time Capsule — who would they choose? Would they listen to Danielle Reyes and her plea from Thursday’s live eviction episode to send Taylor into the time capsule?
No. Instead, Drew was voted into the BB Time Capsule for a chance to win a power or a punishment. That means every member of the new Mosh Pit alliance with the exception of Barrett was voted into the BB Time Capsule and no one from the Yash-side of the house got a shot.
This came not a moment too soon in the aftermath of his disastrous performance in the Mosh Pit meeting. But would Drew win a power or a punishment? He got a POWER! That’s the good news. The bad news? It’s a pretty meaningless power.

Certainly not as powerful as the coin of destiny the online fandom thought he might have won weeks ago. But hey, at least America likes him, even if his own alliance seems to be less sure about him. And he seems pretty stoked about it.
He tries to earn some trust with Dee, revealing his Never Not power. He thinks it proves he’s been working with them since the beginning. But Dee doesn’t care about America right now, she just wants to know why he’s acting sus. He admits he fumbled the meeting, but he says in the DR that no matter what he says she’s not going to believe him. He admits to her that he’s been playing both sides, but it’s been for the benefit of the Crossovers. He thinks she should be not trusting Yash, as he put her up last week. Plus, he says he has nowhere else to go, as he burned his bridge with Yash, Taylor and LaLa.
Barrett tries to do some damage control, saying Drew is more loyal to the alliance than Yash. But Dee is still thinking about putting up Drew, which isn’t sitting well with Barrett. Dee thinks Drew is loyal … to a point. She is torn, but wants to do what will protect the Icons and help them reach the end of the game.
Welcome to the block
In the end, did Dee allow confirmation bias to convince her that an enemy’s convenient story was more trustworthy than her messy ally? Yup, she sure did. Dee puts Drew on the block, alongside Taylor and LaLa, saying that she put people up for conspiring against her. Taylor and LaLa come out at Drew claiming that he’s lying again about them putting a target on Dee.
Taylor wants Drew to give chapter and verse on when, where and how she targeted Dee. And … we’re left with the cliffhanger of more nomination ceremony drama to close out tonight’s episode. We’ll have to tune in on Wednesday to see how it all plays out.
But one thing is for sure — Yash, Taylor and LaLa have turned their anger with Drew over the Kamu vote into fuel for the fire that could burn him up in this game.

As head of household, Dee nominated Drew, LaTrice and Taylor for eviction this week. If any of the three win the veto competition, or another player wins and chooses to use the power of veto on them, Dee will have to select another houseguest as a replacement nominee.
