Big Brother Season 28’s fourth live eviction airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, and Drew is sitting on the block still believing he’s the pawn. He’s not. The entire Toolshed has pivoted to making him their target (unless it hasn’t), and he has no clue.

Here’s what to watch for during Thursday’s live eviction, how to tune in and what to expect from what could be one of the most dramatic blindsides of the season.

What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Taylor won the Power of Veto in a masquerade-themed poisoned wine competition, taking herself off the block. Haley replaced her with Lyric — breaking a safety deal she made during the HOH comp — leaving Drew, Melody and Lyric as the final nominees.

The bigger story was behind the scenes. Devens pitched the entire Toolshed on making Drew the target rather than keeping him as a pawn, and the alliance agreed unanimously. Angela got what she’s been pushing for weeks. Even Kamu, Drew’s Handymen partner, signed off. Drew went from pawn to dead man walking in a single conversation he wasn’t part of.

Drew still thinks he’s safe. He told the diary room that even if he survives, he’s ready to blow up the Toolshed. He doesn’t realize the Toolshed already blew him up first.

Haley also got into it with Kamu over the Lyric replacement nomination, creating visible cracks in the Red Corner. Kamu wanted to protect Lyric as a potential new ally; Haley saw her as untrustworthy and did what she wanted anyway.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight

The BB Blockbuster

Drew, Melody and Lyric each get one final shot to save themselves before the live vote. Drew failed to win the veto — he was eliminated early after a dismal performance in the poisoned wine challenge, going 0-for-2 with painfully obvious tells. If his Blockbuster performance matches his Veto performance, he’s in serious trouble.

Melody and Lyric both have motivation to win, but Drew is the one who needs it most — he just doesn’t fully understand why yet. If Drew wins the Blockbuster and takes himself off, the Toolshed loses their shot and has to choose between Melody (Haley’s personal target) and Lyric (the replacement nominee nobody particularly wants to send home). If Drew doesn’t win, the votes are already locked against him (unless they aren’t).

The blindside setup

This has all the makings of a classic Big Brother blindside. Drew thinks he’s the pawn. His alliance told him he’s the pawn. Haley told him to his face they’re still on the same side. And then behind closed doors, Devens orchestrated the entire Toolshed to flip the target onto Drew without him knowing.

The question is whether Drew picks up on any signals before the vote. Barrett knows the real target but feels he can’t alert Drew without putting his own game at risk. Melody is Drew’s closest ally and is sitting on the block next to him. If either of them senses something is off before the Blockbuster, Drew’s competitive fire might kick in. But based on everything we’ve seen, Drew is walking into Thursday night confident he’s safe.

Barrett’s impossible position

Barrett is the most conflicted person in the house tonight. Drew is his Jugglers Final 2 partner, his closest remaining ally, the person he’s been talking about flipping with all season. And Barrett knows Drew is the target — Dee told him directly.

Does Barrett warn Drew? Does he vote against his own alliance to try to save him? Or does he do what he’s done every other time this season and fold under pressure? Barrett said in the diary room he’s DONE with the Toolshed, but actions have never matched his words. Tonight is the ultimate test of whether Barrett has any actual fight in him or whether he’ll watch his closest ally get blindsided without lifting a finger.

Melody’s fate hangs in the balance

If Drew wins the Blockbuster, Melody becomes the likely target — she’s Haley’s archnemesis at this point. Haley called her a “mean girl,” cited her open hatred as the catalyst for the nomination and has no interest in keeping her around.

But if Drew stays on the block, things might change. The Toolshed has said all week it wants Drew out more than they want Melody out, and Lyric was a last-minute replacement nominee that nobody is particularly invested in evicting. Although, based on the live feeds, the vote could be evolving. Melody’s survival this week might come down entirely to whether Drew saves himself or not — her fate is in his hands more than her own.

Lyric’s rough stretch continues

Lyric has been on the block in three of four weeks this season. She was put up as a pawn in Week 2, saved herself with the veto in Week 3, and now finds herself as Haley’s replacement nominee after the HOH broke a safety deal made during the competition.

Lyric spent this week trying to pivot — first approaching Yash about a Final 2, then pitching Haley and Kamu on joining the majority. Unfortunately, it didn’t keep her off the block. Haley didn’t trust her after willingness to abandon her house besties Melody and Mallory. Lyric even twisted Mallory’s words to try to earn favor with Haley, which backfired. She’s running out of moves.

The good news for Lyric: she’s not the target. But “not the target” and “safe” are different things in Big Brother, and Lyric sitting on the block this often is becoming a pattern that eventually catches up to her.

Cracks in the Red Corner

Haley and Kamu’s argument over the Lyric nomination was the most visible fracture the Red Corner has shown all season. Kamu wanted Lyric protected as a potential new ally. Haley accused him of being “enamored” with her and made the decision unilaterally. Angela thought it looked like a lover’s quarrel.

This matters because the Red Corner (Kamu, Haley, Chuk) has been the Toolshed’s secondary power base all season — the numbers that gave the Crossovers their super-majority. If Kamu and Haley can’t get on the same page, that foundation weakens. And with Drew potentially leaving tonight, the Toolshed is potentially about to get smaller. Every crack matters more when the alliance shrinks.
