Who won the Power of Veto on Big Brother tonight? Season 28 Week 4 Results

The Power of Veto was once again up for grabs on Wednesday night, as Drew, Melody and Taylor fought for their lives in the game, even if some of them didn’t fully recognize it.

Who won the veto and will they use it to pull a nominee off the block? And if they do, who will Haley put up in their place?

Big Brother Season 28 Week 4 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 4 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. The Toolshed once again grabbed power for the week, with Haley earning the HOH key.

Haley has already been a different type of HOH than any of her predecessors this season. Will her “my way or the highway” ethos stir drama? And will she be successful in evicting her target this week? Only time will tell.

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 14 recap

Powering through Haley’s power trip

In the aftermath of the nomination ceremony, Haley reaffirms that Taylor is her target, but she chose to put Drew on the block because she doesn’t know if she can trust him and wants to check him a little bit. For his part, Drew says it makes him even more motivated to take himself off the block and make Haley get more blood on her hands. Taylor says she is used to being underestimated and is ready to go beast mode. And Melody is tired of Haley making herself the victim.

Mallory agrees that Haley hasn’t had anything close to a difficult three weeks. Meanwhile, Lyric loves Melody and Mallory, but sees the writing on the wall and is ready to pivot and be a free agent. She doesn’t think she can be attached to someone who has been on the block so often, so she goes to Kamu in a bid to get herself picked up by the majority.

Meanwhile, Taylor comes up to ask why she was nominated. Haley brings up Taylor laughing when Jason banged the tea pot in her ear and her association with Jason.

Of course, it’s a strange explanation — which Haley admits is because she pulled it out of her behind. She says she is not afraid to be the bad guy (in different terms than what she actually said). Once again, Haley has no chill and is needlessly antagonistic. And Taylor says all she did is wake up the dog in her, so she’s going to win the veto and there will be consequences.

Targeting a tool from the Toolshed

Kamu comes up to talk with Haley about Lyric and potentially pulling her in. He thinks she would be loyal to them because she’s so desperate, and argues that maybe Drew shouldn’t be just a pawn. He argues he can’t trust Drew anymore and maybe it’s time to replace him with Lyric. Haley is down to target Drew, but isn’t necessarily down to add Lyric. She thinks Kamu might be distracted by Lyric’s beauty.

Drew goes to Devens and explains that while he’s disappointed in being put on the block, it could also be a good thing as it gives him reason to return the favor. Devens is afraid that if Drew goes after Haley, he’s going to blow up the Red Corner which also blows up the Toolshed, which is keeping him safe in the game. He’s gone from a liability to an active threat. Bringing together Dee and Angela with Haley and Chuk in the HOH room, Devens begins a pitch to make Drew the target. Everyone seems open to the possibility, with Devens thinking no matter what the relationship is burned, so they might as well go for it. Then it becomes official — Drew has gone from a pawn to the target. And it’s what Angela has been waiting for. She says he’s been everywhere and his mouth has gotten him into this mess. If he doesn’t win the veto, he’ll need a miracle to stay.

Sinking ships and shifting alliances

Lyric continues her quest to distance herself from the “sinking ship” that is Melody and Mallory, so she approaches Yash about a Final 2. Yash is also too happy to diversify his options. With that out of the way, she makes her pitch to Haley. She says she is ready to work with the majority and doesn’t want to stay on a sinking ship. The pitch backfires, however, as Haley doesn’t trust someone who’s so willing to abandon her closest allies.

Meanwhile, Dee tells Barrett that the target is moving from Taylor to Drew. This news makes Barrett a little bit nervous for his own safety, seeing himself as a potential backup target. Dee tries to reassure him, but suggests he kiss up a little bit. At the same time, Drew confronts Haley about not giving him a heads up about being on the block. Haley is displaying some major red flags, not wanting to admit who the actual target is and not wanting to play the veto. Drew’s spidey senses should be tingling, and although he tells her he believes her when she says he is the pawn he doesn’t think it’s a completelty innocent game move either. In the end, he knows he or Melody have to win the Power of Veto because the worst-case scenario is them facing off in the BB Blockbuster.

Ultimately, Drew’s right to worry whether the Toolshed likes him as much as he hopes they do. Because they don’t.

Lifting a glass to danger

Moving on to picking players for the Veto competition, Melody’s chip is pulled and she selects Mallory, who is excited to play. The second chip selected is Haley’s and she chooses Chuk in the hopes of limiting Drew’s chances to save himself. Chuk straight up says he is going to keep the noms the same if he wins, which only gives Drew more motivation to target the Red Corner if he’s somehow able to survive this week.

Lyric agrees with Taylor that Haley provided a silly reason to nominate her, but she also sees it as an opportunity for Taylor. For her part, Taylor is doing her best to show how truly angry she gets when she’s mad. You won’t like her when she’s mad, apparently.

When it comes time for the Veto competition, a special guest from Big Brother Season 27 made a house call —Morgod herself, Morgan Pope.

Morgan is back to host another murderous Veto competition, with the houseguests being sent to a masquerade ball in Venice on February 18, 1752. The competitors will be sent to the wine cellar for two glasses of wine, one of which is poison. They must target a player and try to convince them to drink from the poisoned glass of wine. Two glasses of poisoned wine will result in elimination.

One thing that is clear right off the bat in the first round — Drew is VERY clear with his tells and bad at this game. Drew awkwardly goes 0-for-2 and is eliminated. This comp also turns deadly for Mallory, who also goes 0-for-2 and is quickly eliminated.

The other houseguests fare a little better, with each taking at least one sip of poisoned wine. They’re all pretty awkward at this game, but in the end it comes down to Taylor (who was all too happy to poison and eliminate Haley) and Chuk (who wants to win to keep noms the same). Taylor has a plan to play Chuk with a small smirk and he admits he can’t read her. Sure enough, Chuk drinks from the poisoned wine and is down for the count … while Taylor is up and off the block thanks to the Power of Veto.

Taylor’s win has Haley pissed, Melody in her feelings and Drew annoyed that his chances of going home have increased. Barrett is in a tough spot as he’s close to Drew, but can’t risk alerting him that he’s the real target. And now Mallory is concerned that she could be in line to be a potential replacement nominee. Lyric is worried too, but brings up the agreement she made with Haley to keep her off the block during the HOH competition. Will she keep her word?

Cracks in the Corner

Of course, Haley decides not to keep her word. She immediately wants to put Lyric up, as it puts the least amount of blood on her hands. Kamu argues that Lyric wants to work with them, but Haley thinks Mallory won’t ever put her up. Sorry not sorry, but Haley’s looking out for her game, not the alliance’s game. All of this leads to a testy exchange with Kamu. Once again, Haley is about as subtle as a sledgehammer in social situations and at some point it’s going to come back to haunt her.

Kamu can’t see why Haley wants to put up Lyric, but Haley thinks Kamu is just enamored with Lyric, who she says is running from man to man in the house. It gets so awkward, that Angela almost sees this argument as a bit of a lover’s quarrel and wonders in the diary room if perhaps Haley has a crush on Kamu? Either way, Kamu has ruined Haley’s buzz and cracks are beginning to show in the Red Corner.

Haley does what Haley wants

Ultimately, Haley does what Haley wants and makes her deal with Mallory, guaranteeing her safety. Mallory promises to protect Haley … but she didn’t say anything about the other members of the Red Corner. Which becomes a problem when she reveals to Lyric that if she wins HOH she would put Kamu, Chuk and LaLa on the block.

Lyric loves Mallory, but wants to stay in the game, so she takes this information to Haley. But, she twists it a little bit to where she says Mallory has consistently said she would put up Kamu, Chuk and Haley. Lyric is hoping this will earn a measure of trust with Haley, but it actually does the opposite. Haley warns Lyric that Mallory is going to find out eventually and she needs to think about how this all will look. Lyric reiterates that she wants to work with the majority, but Haley isn’t budging.

In the end, Taylor takes herself off the block and Haley decides to keep her word with Mallory, putting Lyric on the block. She says it’s not personal, strictly gameplay, but Haley makes it clear she doesn’t trust her. Lyric is emotional, sad that she’s found herself in this position. Melody is upset that she’s on the block with her No. 1 ally Drew, but she doesn’t want to go home. And Drew still thinks he’s the pawn, but even if he survives he’s ready to blow up the Toolshed.
