What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?
Devens won the BB Blockbuster in a competition called “Your Game In Ruins,” taking himself off the block and leaving Taylor and LaLa as the final nominees. LaLa was evicted 4-2, with Barrett, Dee, Devens and Yash voting her out. Angela and Melody voted to evict Taylor — meaning Dee and Angela, two members of the same Icon alliance, were not on the same page.
The bigger story was what almost happened. Devens volunteered as Drew’s replacement nominee, convinced the votes were locked to keep him. They weren’t. Barrett was ready to vote Devens out. Melody, Yash and Taylor had agreed to tell the house Barrett would never flip — a lie designed to keep Devens comfortable on the block. Angela sensed something was off but couldn’t pinpoint it. And Dee started getting paranoid about Devens spending too much time with Drew and Barrett, briefly entertaining the idea of betraying the ally who saved her game with the Diamond Power of Veto just two weeks earlier.
Devens survived because he won the Blockbuster, not because the house wanted him to stay. His read on the vote was wrong. His alliance was fracturing around him. And the person he trusts most in the game — Dee — was already looking for reasons to cut him loose.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight
The HOH competition
Drew is ineligible as outgoing HOH, which means the Crossovers head into Sunday’s competition down a body. Seven houseguests compete: Dee, Devens, Angela, Barrett, Yash, Melody and Taylor. On paper, the anti-Icon side has the numbers advantage — Barrett, Yash, Melody and Taylor represent four of the seven competitors, and the Crossovers can only field Dee, Devens and Angela.
Our power rankings have Yash as the biggest comp threat remaining. He nearly threw the last HOH competition to Melody and still finished tied for the lead. He won the veto comp last week to take himself off the block. His problem is the BB Bribe deal — if Yash wins HOH, he can’t nominate any of the three Icons, which means he’d be forced to put up allies like Taylor, Melody or Barrett. That makes an HOH win counterproductive for him. Yash needs someone else to win and do the dirty work.
Barrett is the wild card. He told Melody he’s done playing the game like he did in the first half and that the Icons should be nervous if he wins HOH. But the Crossovers still think he’s with them. If Barrett wins, he’d have the element of surprise — the Icons wouldn’t see it coming.
The Dee-Devens fracture
For most of the season, Dee and Devens have operated as a unit — the two Survivor veterans running the Icons and the Crossovers from the top. That partnership may be cracking.
Dee was paranoid about Devens before the Blockbuster even happened. She didn’t like how much time he was spending with Drew and Barrett. She started wondering if Devens was building a separate path to the end that didn’t include her. And she was right — Devens told the diary room that while Dee is his No. 1, he doesn’t actually want to sit next to her in the Final Two. He’d rather reach the end with Barrett and Drew.
The power rankings note that Dee now appears to be at odds with Devens heading into the week, and that this spells danger. If Dee’s paranoia translates into action — targeting Devens or distancing from him publicly — it would blow up the foundation the Icons have been built on since Week 1. For a player ranked No. 3 who already lost Barrett and killed the Mosh Pit during her HOH, losing Devens would leave Dee with Angela as her only reliable ally. That’s not enough.
Yash at No. 1
For the first time in weeks, a non-Icon sits atop the power rankings. Yash jumped to No. 1 after a week that showcased how far he’s come since the beginning of the season — winning the veto, using his social game, and sowing seeds of discord in Drew’s mind about Dee, all without being in power.
The power rankings describe him as potentially the player to beat and the biggest comp threat left in the house. He can impose his will without holding the HOH title, and his growing skills have caught Dee’s attention — she now is considering an idea to secretly work with him. That combination of competitive dominance, social positioning and cross-alliance interest from an Icon is exactly how you build a winning game.
The BB Bribe deal remains Yash’s one limitation. He can’t nominate the Icons during his next HOH, which means winning power would actually hurt his game. But he’s found a workaround — influence the people who can nominate them. Barrett is already doing the work. Melody is already pulling Drew’s strings. All Yash needs is for one of them to win HOH and follow through.
Barrett hiding in plain sight
Barrett jumped five spots to No. 2 in the power rankings, and the most impressive part of his game right now is that the Icons still don’t know he’s turned. He spent the week hanging around the Crossovers to maintain his cover, enduring group hugs with Angela and storage room conversations with Dee and Devens while privately telling Melody he can’t wait to blindside them.
Barrett has been activated for two weeks now, but the Blockbuster has bailed members of the Crossovers out both times. Drew saved himself in Week 7, and Devens saved himself in Week 8. Barrett hasn’t been able to cast a vote against a member of the Crossovers yet. Sunday’s HOH is his first real opportunity to act — not just vote, but control. If he wins, the nominations would be a genuine shock to the Crossovers, and the Icons would have to scramble for the first time all season without the power structure they’ve relied on since the beginning.
The power rankings credit Barrett for recognizing it’s better to go out earlier playing your own game than to play someone else’s and not win. That philosophy is about to be tested.
