It’s not Chuk time anymore, as the houseguests of Big Brother Season 28 dodged World War Big Brother by sending home the supply chain analyst from Dallas.
With another week in the Big Brother house set to get underway, are we witnessing a shift in power that started thanks to the blindside by the Icons in Week 4? Despite Dee and Devens being the top players of the season, would some of their sloppy play about to come back and haunt them?

Big Brother Season 28 Week 6 Results
Sunday’s episode began Week 6 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. And coming out of the knockout comp, Yash outlasted the field to become the new Head of Household.
Since sitting on the block in Week 1, Yash has grown tremendously in the game. He came at No. 6 in my power rankings after Week 5, and seems primed to potentially wrest control out of the hands of the Icons. Will that happen? We’ll have to see how this week plays out!

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 20 recap
Haley looks to get back on track
In the aftermath of Chuk’s eviction, Haley plans to pivot her game without her best friend, and that includes targeting LaLa. While Haley is crying tears of sadness, Barrett is shedding tears of joy to see the game flip so quickly. Dee is also thrilled to see Haley still in the house as a common target, while LaLa is less than thrilled Haley is still around.
Haley thinks she was “bullied” last week, calling LaLa a terrible person (OK, Haley, sure). Meanwhile, Angela wants to clear the air and get back to where they were before the blindside of Lyric. Haley is willing to put her trust in Angela … but that doesn’t mean she’s about to tell her everything. She’s out to play her game now. Kamu is also willing to rebuild trust between them, and as a show of faith (literally), Haley tries to turn Kamu against Dee by talking about him and his Bible. Now, Kamu is activated against Dee and is feeling good about Haley and Yash. Haley doesn’t fully trust Kamu, but she needs people in the game.
One thing to track — Haley says multiple times that she’s going to get sent to the BB Time Capsule. After all, who deserves it more than her? Spoiler alert: Just about anyone, but she will find out soon enough.
Yash parties like it’s 1999
For the HOH comp, the houseguests are sent back to New Year’s Eve 1999. Who could forget Y2K? Other than all the houseguests who weren’t born yet (thanks, Melody, I feel old as dirt, now).
To determine the new HOH, it’s a classic knockout comp. Houseguests will compete to stop Y2K by playing “Bugs In the System.” To win, players will ring in with the zone in a computer system with the most bugs. Answer right first, you move on. Answer second or wrong and you’re out.
The game starts with Yash taking out Kamu, who is happy not to have to show his cards in this comp. Yash picks Angela and Melody to compete next, as he doesn’t want Angela as HOH and doesn’t fully trust Melody. Angela knows people are coming for the Icons, but she can’t top Melody and is eliminated. She wants anyone but Taylor and Yash (spoiler alert: she’s not going to get what she wants).
Next up is Taylor and Haley, with Taylor moving on. She picks the “father-son” duo of Drew and Devens. She wants Devens to knock out Drew, who she sees as unpredictable. But that makes Devens want to win even more, since like Angela he knows people are coming after the Icons. Drew rings in first, but got it wrong. Meaning Devens gets to pick the next competitors. However, he makes a strategic mistake, picking his main ally Dee to play. It’s part of a strategy to make people think they aren’t as close as it appears, which worked for a moment with Dee beating Taylor. It backfires, however, when Dee subsequently chooses Devens to face Melody, a matchup which he loses. The Icons, Dee and Devens specifically, have been a bit messy with their gameplay. It hasn’t hurt them to this point, but touch the stove enough times and you’re going to get burned.
Yash takes out Dee, and the final four is Barrett, Mallory, Melody and Yash. Barrett takes out Mallory, with Yash then taking out Melody. Yash wants to show he’s a competitor and can win these comps, which is a worst-case for Angela since she thinks he’s gunning for the Icons. Barrett buzzes in first, but he does so with the wrong answer, so Yash becomes the HOH and he knows he has a big decision to make. Luckily for him, he says he’s not afraid to make big moves. Dee thinks she and Devens should be safe as members of the Wolfpack with Yash, but she’s worried about Angela. Unfortunately for her, she winds up only being half right.
Melody is less than thrilled that Yash won HOH, but Taylor and LaLa and Dee and Devens both feel good going into the week. Devens thinks he’s going to put up Haley, Angela and Melody and Dee can’t believe they’re about to make it to Week 6 without being on the block. But, she may have spoken a little bit too soon and the BB gods apparently heard that one. Meanwhile, Angela is right when she thinks sometimes that Haley is a bit delusional, as Haley thinks Yash is cool with her and could nominate LaLa of all people. LALA?!? Oh, and once again she says she is feeling confident in getting America’s vote for BB Time Capsule. Haley clearly spent too much time with Chuk, as his tendency for bad takes has rubbed off on her.
Yash notes that people are talking about the fact the Icons haven’t seen the block yet, and he’s upset about not being informed of the Lyric vote swap. So he’s nominating Angela, meanwhile he wants to make LaLa happy, so he will nominate Haley. His last pick will be either Melody or Dee as a pawn. Dee nominated Yash for eviction way back in Week 1, so he’s cool putting her up this week. Which works great for Kamu, who feels burned by Dee and like she’s dragging his name through the mud. But you know what would work even better for Kamu? Dee going from pawn to target. So he’s going to work to put that into motion. The lesson as always: Don’t tempt the BB gods.
Melody has a potty mouth as a result of the BB Time Capsule
Despite Haley being delusional convinced that America would vote her into the BB Time Capsule, America had other plans. Melody was voted into the Time Capsule instead, where after earning a punishment instead of a power, she learned that she’d become the Lord of the Latrine. What does that mean? It means that for the next 24 hours, she has to loudly announce every time someone heads to the bathroom to do their business.

So it’s another missed opportunity for the non-Icons to get a power in this game. But hey, at least they know America likes them.
Welcome to the block
After bro-ing out with Kamu and Drew, Yash says straight up that he doesn’t want a dude to go home. It’s bad boys for life, y’all. In terms of nominees, Yash thinks there will be no blow back at all from putting up Haley and Angela. But he’s not sure about his third nominee. Kamu wants to pitch bringing in Haley to work with them, and he says if he were HOH he would be targeting Dee as she has much more influence than Angela. Drew is in a tough spot as he doesn’t want his two allies to go up, but he doesn’t want to risk getting put up himself as a pawn.
Kamu’s pitch seemingly works, and has Yash thinking there could be a crack in the Wolfpack. He feels good about Devens, so he pulls up his guy to gauge his reaction to both Angela and Dee going up. Needless to say, Devens is not thrilled about this idea — he’s nervous that if Dee is up there at the end she could be seen as the bigger threat. He decides that if he can only save one, he’s going to focus on her fellow Survivor player. He immediately goes to Dee to let her know the story and suggests that it might be time to try to activate Dee’s BB Bribe. So long as Dee isn’t on the block, that’s all that matters.
Angela is a veteran of the block from her time on Big Brother Season 26, so she goes up to go to work in a bid to stay off the block. Yash says he hasn’t made a decision yet, but he doesn’t like chaos. Angela says she will never put him up or even say his name, but Yash isn’t buying it. He thinks she’s always in the middle of the chaos They hug it out, but it’s clear his mind is made up.
Later, Dee gets right to the point and asks if Yash is considering putting her up. Yash says he wants to go after Haley and Angela because of all the drama of the last two weeks. He wants to put her up because she put him up Week 1 and people are saying they want to see an Icon up on the block.
Dee says even going up, she still wants to work with Yash. And she has an offer — would Yash save Dee and Angela for $5K? Nope, but he is thrilled to get confirmation that Dee and Angela are working closely together. What about just Dee? That has Yash thinking — stick to the plan or use that $5K to buy all the Chipotle he can eat. What’s a bro to do?
In the end, Yash goes with Haley, Angela and Dee as his nominees for the block. He decided not to accept the $5K bribe because it jeopardizes his chances at $750K. And hey, if the ball bounces his way, he has a chance to be the first one to send an Icon home. But, if you take a shot at the queen, you best not miss. Because if Dee survives, she’s coming for Yash. And as Devens reminds us, America gave him the Diamond Power of Veto. And it just might be time to use it.

Yash won HOH on Sunday, defeating Barrett in the final round of a knockout comp.

As head of household, Yash nominated Haley, Angela and Dee for eviction this week. If any of the three win the veto competition, or another player wins and chooses to use the power of veto on them, Yash will have to select another houseguest as a replacement nominee.
