Who Won the Power of Veto on Big Brother Tonight? Season 28 Week 6 Results

Yash’s tenure as Head of Household has already sent ripples across the Big Brother house.

Haley’s name being put on the block for a second straight week doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Ditto for Angela, who hasn’t formed much of a connection with Yash. The HOH’s most shocking move was, at the urging of Kamu, putting Dee on the block. The former Survivor winner has had a fairly stress-free run during Big Brother Season 28. Can she – or a potential ally such as Devens – find a way to get off of the block? Who will come out on top during Wednesday’s pivotal Power of Veto competition?

Big Brother Season 28 Week 6 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 6 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. And coming out of the knockout comp, Yash outlasted the field to become the new Head of Household.

Since sitting on the block in Week 1, Yash has grown tremendously in the game. He came at No. 6 in our power rankings after Week 5, and seemed primed to potentially wrest control out of the hands of the Icons.

However, the Icons weren’t going to go down without a fight, and Devens struck back by invoking his Diamond Power of Veto to remove Dee from the block and put up Kamu in her place. How will Yash respond? And will his HOH go down in flames? We’ll find out on Thursday.

Dee Out For Revenge

Dee decided to flex her muscles last week, offering Yash $5,000 dollars as a BB Bribe. However, he decided to stick to his guns, turning down an offer to take her off of the block. Keep in mind, she put Yash on the block during her first week as HOH. It appeared that the two had buried the hatchet – but looks can be deceiving.

Little does Dee know that this is a move driven in large part by Kamu. He was tipped off by none other than Haley, who let it slip that the Survivor 45 winner had taken a shot behind his back. Keep in mind, these two formed a once lock-solid pact just one week prior. The MMA fighter has done a complete 180° in just a few days time. Dee is the target, and it’s looking more and more likely he can convince Yash to go along with that plan.

Dee knows that this will likely come down to this week’s POV competition. Devens, despite possessing the Diamond Power of Veto, is a wildcard. He could help out an ally, or hold onto his advantage for later in the game.

Icons in Danger?

With the entire house out to get Haley, Yash made a bit of a surprise move. He’s telling her that she isn’t the target, while admitting nothing is set in stone via confessional. Haley isn’t quite buying it, but she doesn’t have much of a choice. It’s looking more and more likely that one of the three icons, specifically Angela and Dee, are on thin ice.

For the first time all season, no members of the FAP (For the American People) alliance are in jeopardy. With that being said, Drew isn’t resting on his laurels. He’s worried that the strong group of four will look even more intimidating if some of the bigger, more established names in this game are gone.

Yash did tell Drew that Dee threw his name out, which doesn’t come as a massive surprise. Drew isn’t shocked either, acknowledging that he’s been playing the middle for weeks. However, that alone isn’t enough to push him towards getting Dee out of the house. Keeping a massive name around for another vote or two could serve to benefit FAP. In addition, this presents an opportunity for Drew to build some strong bonds with other members of the house.

Drew wastes no time, seeking to strengthen his ties to Dee. He tells her that Kamu is running this HOH, and that he wants to see Dee gone from the game. In Drew’s mind, Yash is simply going with the flow; whoever gets in his ear the most can pull the strings during this Head of Household.

If there’s anyone who can save the icons, it’s Devens. Credit to the former Survivor players – they’ve kept their friendship as low-key as possible. That’s not to say people in the house aren’t aware they work together, but perhaps not as number one allies. The proof is in Rick’s numerous alliances scattered across BB28. Devens’ newest partners go by The Primaries (Kamu, Yash and Taylor). Within that group is a sub-alliance of Rick, Kamu and Yash, a.k.a. the Bermuda Triange. Even in the midst of all this Dee drama, there’s never any discussion lent to putting Devens on the block. Unsurprisingly, Kamu and Yash seem committed to reaching the Final Two together.

OTEV is back

It’s a Big Brother classic: the OTEV Power of Veto competition. This year’s edition sees Yash, Angela, Dee and Haley battle it out alongside Melody and Barrett. The latter is excited to enter the fray – he’s willing to use the Veto on either Angela or Dee. As an added motivator, Kamu and Yash had mentioned Barrett as an option in the case of a re-nomination. Drew discloses that to his number one, attempting to light a fire in the mild-mannered houseguest. Barrett winning POV could throw a major wrench in Yash’s fallback plan.

OTEV this season is a belligerent B-movie Blob from the 1950s, putting together his newest flick. He needs the houseguests to find the headshot he’s looking for, essentially a scavenger hunt. The last one to bring back a headshot, or an incorrect one, gets eliminated. To make matters worse, a slime bath gets unleashed on all six to get things started.

Angela is the last one to arrive in the first round, a crushing blow for the Icon. It’s both Dee and Haley that fail to bring Chuk’s headshot in round two. For the latter, it’s a shockingly early exit at such an inopportune time. As for the latter, it sends her to the block for the second week in a row. Next, it’s Melody that comes up short in her quest to find LaLa and her headshot.

The final two for POV is set: Barrett vs. Yash. After one last slime bath, the two go head to head. It’s the second time this week they’ve gone up against one another in the final round, going back to Sunday’s HOH comp. Their task to close things out is a bit more difficult: finding both Ashley and Jason’s headshots. Ultimately, it’s the head of household that emerges victorious. Yash gets to the podium first, which should ensure his nominations stay the same.

Devens Shakes Things up

For anyone that’s familiar with his game on Survivor, Devens isn’t afraid to make a big move. Still, there’s more to it than pulling the trigger at any given opportunity. The reality TV veteran knows timing is everything, and Big Brother is a delicate balance between strategy and social bonds. Altering any nominees, especially against an HOH he’s close with, could cause trouble down the line. It doesn’t help that Dee has been surprisingly bad when it comes to competitions.

Still, sometimes you’re left with no better option. Given Kamu’s desire to send her home, Dee is in dire straits at the moment. Faced with the potential loss of his co-conspirator, Rick decides to go big. However, it’s not just a matter of taking Dee off the block. It’s also about using the Diamond POV in a way that makes the most sense going forward.

The biggest question facing Devens is whether he’ll nominate Kamu as a replacement. The two had a talk together, with the fighter essentially encouraging Rick to go against his number one. Not to mention, he confirms that decisions within the Bermuda Triangle are being had without one of its three members. That’s all Devens needs to make his final decision. His plan revolves around solidifying the Crossovers, who will then bring aboard Melody and Mallory. Thus, a new seven-person alliance is born: The Moshpit.

Yash doesn’t use the Golden Power of Veto, attempting to keep his nominations the same. Before things come to a close, Devens announces that “this veto meeting has just begun.” To the surprise of (almost) everyone, he unleashes the Diamond Power of Veto. Dee is taken off the block, replaced with none other than Kamu. He cited the fighter as the biggest threat in the game, and said Survivor fans were itching for a major move.

The biggest winner here is Dee; she gets someone to do her dirty work all while ensuring another week in the house. Now, we’ll see how Yash reacts after his nominations were reversed in dramatic fashion. Keep in mind, Kamu can play his way off the block during Thursday’s Big Brother Blockbuster competition.
