For five weeks, the reality Icons have controlled Big Brother Season 28 without ever touching the block. That streak is over. Yash put both Dee and Angela on the block alongside Haley, rejected Dee’s $5,000 BB Bribe, and Devens is now wondering if this is the moment to play his Diamond Power of Veto.

Here’s everything to know about Wednesday’s episode, including the air time, how to watch and what to expect from the most consequential veto competition of the season.

What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Yash won became the Week 6 head of household in a Y2K-themed knockout competition, outlasting Barrett in the final round. It’s the first time this season we’ve gone back-to-back weeks with non-Toolshed member in power (coming after LaLa’s Wall comp win).

The knockout comp itself exposed some sloppy play from the Icons. Devens and Dee made a strategic mistake by choosing each other to compete. It was designed to make them look less connected but backfired when Melody subsequently eliminated Devens. Dee and Devens have been leaving fingerprints on their gameplay more frequently, and it may finally be catching up to them.

Melody was voted into the BB Time Capsule by America (despite Haley being convinced she would get the vote, saying so multiple times). However, Melody didn’t land a power but rather a punishment: Lord of the Latrine. This requires her to loudly announce every bathroom visit for 24 hours. Another missed opportunity for the non-Icons to gain a power in this game.

Yash nominated Haley, Angela and Dee. Dee attempted to use her BB Bribe — first offering Yash $5,000 to save both her and Angela, then just herself. Yash rejected it, choosing to focus on the big prize: $750,000. And the attempt gave Yash confirmation that Dee and Angela are working closely together. So double whammy for Dee.

More trouble for Dee: Kamu is actively working to shift the target from pawn-Dee to actual-target-Dee after Haley helped by turning Kamu against the former Survivor winner.

All of this has Devens wondering out loud if it might be time to activate the Diamond Power of Veto.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight

The Power of Veto competition

This is the most important veto comp of the season. Two Icons are on the block for the first time. Devens is holding a Diamond Power of Veto that can override the nominations entirely. Kamu is working to make Dee the real target. And Yash already rejected Dee’s bribe, meaning the Icons’ safety nets are thinning.

If Dee or Angela wins the veto and takes herself off, the other Icon remains in danger and Yash names a replacement. If neither wins, the Diamond Power of Veto becomes the last line of defense — at least for Dee. But using it would loudly expose Devens’ closesness with Dee to the entire house.

Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto dilemma

Devens told Dee it might be time to use the Diamond Power of Veto. But this is a massive decision. The DPOV can override any of the HOH’s nominations — it’s the most powerful advantage in the house. Using it saves Dee but reveals to everyone just how tight they really are.

If he doesn’t use it and Dee goes home, he loses the person who’s been running the game alongside him. It’s risk either way — but Devens said “it just might be time,” which suggests he’s leaning toward deploying it. The question is whether events this week force his hand or whether Dee can save herself without it.

Kamu’s campaign to target Dee

Kamu isn’t content with Dee sitting on the block as a pawn. He wants her gone. He feels burned by Dee — she’s been dragging his name through the mud, he says — and he pitched Yash on making her the actual target. Haley helped by weaponizing comments about Kamu and his Bible to turn him further against Dee.

This is a significant development. Kamu was in the Wolfpack with Dee and they seemed to be on solid footing just last week. Now he’s actively campaigning for her eviction. If the veto doesn’t save Dee and Kamu successfully shifts the house’s target from Haley to the Icon, we could be looking at the biggest eviction of the season. But Kamu has to contend with the fact that Devens has a hidden power — one that could blow up his entire plan.

Dee’s exposed position

Dee has been at the top of our power rankings for weeks. She engineered the Lyric blindside, kept Haley alive as a weapon, played the Red Corner into imploding, and maintained a secret power nobody knew about. Now all of that is unraveling in a single week.

The BB Bribe is a secret no more — Yash rejected it and now knows about it and is telling people about it. Kamu is actively working against her. She’s on the block for the first time. And the messy gameplay could be finally coming back to bite her. Dee told Yash that if she survives, she still wants to work with him. But she also made it clear in the diary room: if she survives and he betrayed her, she’s coming for him. That’s the Dee the house has feared all season — but threatening the HOH who just nominated you is a different energy than threatening from a position of power.

Angela’s block experience

Angela has been on the block before — she spent time there during Big Brother Season 26. She tried to campaign her way off before nominations, promising Yash she’d never put him up or say his name. He didn’t buy it. He told her he doesn’t like chaos, and she’s always in the middle of it.

Angela’s position is precarious but potentially survivable. If Kamu’s campaign works and the target shifts to Dee, Angela could end up being the Icon who escapes this week. But she’s also the Icon without a hidden power protecting her — no bribe, no Diamond Power of Veto. If the veto goes unused and the house decides it wants an Icon out, Angela could be the path of least resistance.

Haley’s bizarre safety net

For the first time all season, Haley might be the safest person on the block. She’s nominated alongside two Icons — players the house has been talking about targeting for weeks. Kamu is actively working to send Dee home. And Haley has been pivoting, rebuilding with Angela and Kamu, and positioning herself as a weapon others can use rather than a target to eliminate.

She’s still ranked dead last in our latest power rankings. She’s still delusional, as evidenced by the fact she thought there was a world where America would vote her into the BB Time Capsule (there isn’t). But the block has two bigger fish on it this week, and Haley surviving a second consecutive eviction cycle would be a remarkable turnaround for someone the entire house had turned against.
