Best NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 9

Week 9 of the NFL season is full of great matchups. The player prop market offers several ways to get in on the action.

Without further ado, here are three of the best player props for NFL Week 9, including plays on Adonai Mitchell, CeeDee Lamb and Tyler Shough.

Best NFL Player Prop Bets and Picks for Week 9

Jets at Chiefs: Adonai Mitchell Over 51.5 Receiving Yards (-113)

AD Mitchell has really come into his own with the Jets this season. The former second-round pick never lived up to expectations with the Colts, and Indianapolis threw him into the Sauce Gardner trade as an afterthought. However, he has proven to be a real weapon for Geno Smith this season. Mitchell started strong, combining for 123 receiving yards over the first two games of the season. However, Mitchell unfortunately suffered an injury that kept him out for the next few weeks. He gave it a go in Week 7 against the Dolphins, but he was on a very limited snap count.

In Week 8 against the Raiders, however, Mitchell showed the heights of his potential. He led the Jets with seven catches for 142 yards and a touchdown. Mitchell should carry that momentum over to Week 9. Garrett Wilson is out for this game, which means Mitchell will be Geno Smith’s WR1 against the Chiefs. Kansas City is going to score in this game, so the Jets will need to push the ball downfield to keep up with Patrick Mahomes. Smith should go to Mitchell early and often in this contest. AD Mitchell has at least 60 receiving yards in all three games that he has played in full this season. He should hit that mark again in Week 9.

Saints vs. Browns: Tyler Shough 2+ Touchdown Passes (-109)

Tyler Shough is having a bit of a sophomore slump. In Shough’s defense, the whole Saints team is struggling this season. Travis Etienne was brought in to bring balance to the New Orleans offense, but he played just three games before getting injured. Alvin Kamara also got injured, leaving the Saints with a depleted running back room. That has put a lot of pressure on Shough, and he has been inconsistent. However, he has still shown flashes of real potential, like going 30-for-38 for 278 yards last time out against the Steelers.

Shough should keep it going this week at home against the Browns. Cleveland’s defense is not the same unit on the road as it is at home. Since 2021, it has allowed just 18.5 points per game at home, but 26.6 PPG on the road. The Browns will also be without Deshaun Watson for this game, which should have a real effect on their offense. That should give more possessions to Tyler Shough and the Saints and in better areas of the field.

Tyler Shough is averaging 1.9 touchdown passes per game this season and should throw for two scores against the Browns. The Saints are tied for third in the NFL in pass attempts per game this season. Cleveland is allowing over 60% of its opponents’ touchdowns through the air this season. With the messy backfield situation in New Orleans, Kellen Moore should trust in his young quarterback in the red zone in this game.

Cowboys at Colts: CeeDee Lamb Anytime TD (-120)

CeeDee Lamb is having an excellent season for the Cowboys. Dallas is not living up to expectations this season, but it is not because of Lamb. He ranks in the top three in the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Lamb should be in for a big game against the Colts this week. Despite the results not going its way, this Dallas offense still ranks third in the NFL in EPA/play. This week, it faces an Indianapolis defense that ranks 22nd in defensive EPA/play. The Dallas offense has a big edge in this matchup.

The Colts are selling off players and are in tank mode. In their first game since initiating tank mode, they lost 42-7 to the Jaguars. The Cowboys should be able to pour it on against the Colts as well. At least one touchdown should go to CeeDee Lamb as he looks to keep his excellent season going.
