Rams vs. Bills NFL DFS Value Picks for Monday Night Football
TE Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams ($6,600 CPT, $4,400 FLEX)
Higbee is in great form right now. The last two weeks, the tight end has scored 20.2 FPTS vs. the Broncos and 11.7 FPTS vs. the Eagles. These results directly correlate with Terrance Ferguson being injured. The tight end only played 25% of the snaps in Week 3 and then he was inactive for Week 4 due to an ankle injury. Ferguson was placed on IR and will be sidelined again tonight, which should translate into another strong performance for Higbee.
Ferguson was limited in Week 3 and sidelined in Week 4. Higbee is running a route on 73% of his team’s dropbacks and he is handling a 16% target share, which ranks third for the Rams, behind only Kyren Williams and Davante Adams. Overall, Higbee is garnering a target on 21% of his routes with Ferguson off the field the last two seasons, compared to 13% with him on.
On top of the expanded role for Higbee, this is an appealing matchup. The Bills rank 10th in pace and are allowing the ninth-most yards per pass this season (7.0). Meanwhile, the Rams rank sixth in PROE. Los Angeles should rely on its passing attack and Higbee should once again be busy.
RB Ty Johnson, Buffalo Bills ($4,800 CPT, $3,200 FLEX)
The Bills’ side of this slate is difficult to navigate without any word on DJ Moore (questionable, shoulder). Keon Coleman will be the primary value play if Moore sits. Coleman has scored 12.3 and 26.6 FPTS in the two games Moore has exited early this season. Coleman is seeing a target on 24% of his routes with Moore off the field this season.
Regardless of Moore, though, Johnson has merit at his low salary and he is a solid, low-owned flier to take that could pay off. Johnson missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury, but he has been active for the last two and has scored 9.0 and 3.2 FPTS.
Johnson has only seen one carry, but he has been active as the Bills’ main passing down back, running a route on 41% of his team’s dropbacks and handling a 10.2% target share. He is averaging 2.2 YPRR, which ranks fourth among the backs who have run 20+ routes this season.
With the Bills being a 3.5-point road underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook for this likely shootout vs. the Rams, Buffalo should pass the ball at a high clip and Johnson has double-digit FPTS upside.
