PITCHER
Stud
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Dodgers at Milwaukee Brewers ($10,000) — In nine career MLB playoff games, Yamamoto is 8-1 with a 2.14 ERA, 13 walks and 58 strikeouts in 63 innings. In two regular season meetings with Milwaukee this season, Yamamoto pitched 13 innings, struck out 12, walked three and allowed only two earned runs on 11 hits. On the road this season, Yamamoto’s FIP of 2.93 was lower than the 3.65 number at home. Translation: Yamamoto is not good. He’s a god, especially in the playoffs.
INFIELD
Stud
Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians at Tampa Bay Rays ($4,900) — Ramirez closed out the White Sox series red-hot, going 5-for-12 with a double, triple, two home runs, seven RBI, a stolen base and two walks. The matchup isn’t great, as Drew Rasmussen has been good this season, especially against lefties, but he did allow 10 home runs to lefties and Ramirez can provide those fantasy goodies in a variety of ways. In addition, the Guardians offense was top 10 in ISO, wOBA and wRC+ over the last month.
Value
Chase DeLauter, Cleveland Guardians at Tampa Bay Rays ($3,900) — DeLauter racked up 16 home runs, 62 runs, 67 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 559 regular season plate appearances. The walk rate was 10.7%, strikeout rate was 14.7% and the ISO was .170. The average exit velocity was 91.4 mph. Against right-handed pitching, 13 home runs were hit while the ISO was .181 with a 128 wRC+. He’s been batting second or third in the lineup. Over the last four games, DeLauter has gone 5-for-16 with two walks and two RBI.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Kyle Tucker, Los Angeles Dodgers at Milwaukee Brewers ($4,600) — Tucker had a brutal regular season, but he’s heated up for the playoffs. Over the last six games, Tucker has gone 7-for-23 with a home run, two RBI, two walks and two stolen bases while striking out four times. Logan Henderson was very good this season, but he did allow 10 home runs to lefties in 64.1 innings while the FIP was 3.6.
Value
Steven Kwan, Cleveland Guardians at Tampa Bay Rays ($3,400) — Kwan had a .067 ISO and three home runs in 637 regular season plate appearances, but the walk rate was 13.3%, strikeout rate was a miniscule 9.7% and he scored 80 runs while stealing 10 bases. He bats leadoff and has produced fantasy goodies in 23 straight games. Six of those contests ended with double-digit FPTS with a high of 28 FPTS.
