Big Brother Season 28 Episode 14 airs Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. And after four straight weeks of controlling the game, the Toolshed alliance is finally turning on one of its own.

The Toolshed’s Haley won HOH and nominated Drew, Melody and Taylor — putting Drew in danger from the very alliance he’s been feeding information to all season.

Here’s everything to know about Wednesday’s episode, including the air time, how to watch and what to expect from a veto competition that could determine Drew’s fate.

What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Haley won the Week 4 HOH competition in a Jack the Ripper-themed memory challenge, keeping the Toolshed in power for an unprecedented fourth straight week. But unlike her predecessors, Haley isn’t here to play games or suffer fools — she’s playing for keeps. Some would argue she even has a pretty bad case of HOH-itis.

In lieu of reading her HOH letter, Haley read the house a riot act, telling people who have been “dragging her name through the mud” to leave her room, not eat her snacks and not use her shower. She then nominated Melody (who openly said she hates Haley), Taylor (path of least blood on her hands) and Drew — a member of her own alliance who she initially says is a pawn, but could easily flip to the actual target.

The Drew nomination was the culmination of weeks of internal Toolshed tension. Angela has been pushing to backdoor Drew for weeks. Devens, once Drew’s biggest advocate, now sees him as someone who “can’t be trusted” and said it might be time to “remove a tool from the Toolshed.” Drew, meanwhile, had no idea any of this was coming — he walked into his HOH meeting still thinking he was in a great spot with everyone.

Dee also won a power in the BB Time Capsule: the BB Bribe, which allows her to offer a houseguest $5,000 to perform a specific game action. Unlike Devens, she’s telling no one about it.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight

The veto competition

Drew’s only guaranteed path to safety is winning the Power of Veto himself. If he doesn’t, he’s at the mercy of an alliance that’s been talking about cutting him for weeks and an HOH who put him on the block with full knowledge that the Toolshed wouldn’t object.

The question is whether anyone else would use the veto on Drew if they win. Barrett — his Jugglers Final 2 partner — might be his best bet, but Barrett also expressed in the diary room that he’s DONE with the Toolshed after Haley’s treatment of him. Would he use the veto on Drew and further antagonize the HOH? Or would he protect himself by staying out of it?

If Melody or Taylor win and take themselves off, Haley has to name a replacement — and the pool of potential nominees gets interesting. Does she put up Mallory, an apparent comp beast, or Lyric, who may be working the house a little too hard?

Will Drew finally see the writing on the wall?

For weeks, Drew operated under the assumption that his position was secure. He was the information pipeline, the alliance connector, the player with a foot in every room. He had the Crossovers, the Handymen with Kamu, the Jugglers with Barrett, the Dapper Dans with Devens — alliances stacked on alliances.

None of it mattered. Angela’s paranoia about him spread to Dee, then to Devens, and now Haley has put him on the block with what appears to be full Toolshed support. Drew told the diary room that he now has a reason to take a shot at Haley if he survives. Whether that fighting spirit translates into actual gameplay this week — or whether he continues to blindly whistle past the graveyard — will define his trajectory from here.

Haley’s power trip

Haley hasn’t always had the best relationship with the other houseguests — especially the other women — this season, and her HOH reign is reflecting that energy. The riot act speech. Telling Barrett she’s worried about the “numbers of girls dwindling” while nominating two women. Calling Melody a “mean girl” while being the person who was making mean comments about Melody. The hypocrisy is thick, and multiple houseguests have noticed.

Haley made a deal with Yash and Lyric during the HOH comp, guaranteeing their safety. She’s operating from a position of personal grievance rather than strategic calculation. This approach might feel satisfying in the moment, but it’s doing nothing to build goodwill for when she’s inevitably out of power. Taylor called it a “power trip” and she’s probably right.

The icons’ hidden arsenal

Between Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto (which can override any HOH’s nominations for the next several weeks) and Dee’s BB Bribe (a one-time use power to pay someone $5K to perform a game action), the reality icons are stacking advantages that nobody in the house fully understands. Three straight weeks of America sending icons to the Time Capsule has given them a safety net that extends well beyond their alliance numbers.

Neither power needs to be used this week, but the fact that these powers exist means the icons can afford to lose an HOH competition or two without facing real danger. The resistance doesn’t know what they’re up against.

Barrett’s breaking point

Barrett said in the diary room that he’s DONE with the Toolshed. Haley accused him of trying to flip the vote last week. He’s been treated as the lowest rung of the alliance since Week 1. His flirtmance with Dee went nowhere. And now his closest ally Drew is on the block.

This could be the week Barrett finally acts on what he’s been feeling all season. If he wins the veto and uses it on Drew, it’s an open declaration against Haley and, by extension, the Toolshed hierarchy that’s been dismissing him. If he doesn’t win, does he at least vote to keep Drew? Or does he fold again and prove that all his diary room frustration is talk without action?

Melody and the Haley feud

Melody openly said she hates Haley in front of a group of houseguests. Haley found out (courtesy of LaTrice, who Taylor coached into sharing the information). Now Melody is on the block as Haley sees her as someone who “does nothing for her game” and gives “mean girl energy.”

The irony is that Haley’s own comments about Melody were arguably worse, but the person in power gets to write the narrative. Melody’s path to survival runs through the veto competition or enough votes to send someone else home. Luckily, if both she and Drew remain on the block after the veto ceremony, the vote seems to be in her favor — the Toolshed will prioritize taking out Drew (who some have convinced themselves is the bigger strategic threat to the alliance). But what does the future hold for Melody if Drew takes himself off the block?
