Big Brother Live Feed Spoilers: Thursday Recap from Season 28 Week 9

Devens survived the block and remains in the Big Brother house. But his celebration didn’t last long.

The post-eviction live feeds featured another argument between Devens and Dee before Barrett won Head of Household—and revealed that he wants to send an Icon to the jury.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 8 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 8 of the summer-long competition in unusual fashion. Rather than immediately moving to an HOH competition, the houseguests were sent back to medieval times for another twist.

Sunday’s episode ended on a cliffhanger, but in the end, Haley could not earn a victory despite having three chances and was eliminated. Drew went on to win HOH, Yash won the veto comp and Devens was named as a replacement nominee. Then on Thursday, Devens won the BB Blockbuster, leaving Taylor and LaLa on the block. In the end, LaTrice was evicted and became the first jury member of Big Brother Season 28.

Big Brother Thursday Live Feed Spoilers

Rocking the vote rocks an alliance

Before we move on from Week 8, we have to discuss the fallout from the live eviction vote. As a reminder, for a good portion of the week Dee and Angela were getting suspicious of what they perceived as Devens’ growing closeness to Drew and Barrett. At one point, they were even discussing just straight up voting to evict him if he didn’t win the Blockbuster.

Of course, Devens did win the Blockbuster (to Survivor 50 winner Aubry Bracco’s delight) and LaLa went home by a vote of 4-2. And for some reason, once again the houseguests were sleuthing to figure out who the two votes were to evict Taylor and keep LaLa (they were Angela and Melody, by the way). And in investigating, Devens may have created more friction with Dee.

Devens tried to apologize, but Dee was having none of it. She even thinks Drew is putting things in Devens’ head, reinforcing her suspicion that Devens is moving toward Drew and Barrett and away from her and Angela. At one point she even suggested that if she had won HOH she would nominate Drew and Devens. Even Angela thinks Dee might be going overboard, but the damage to the Icons might already be done. Once Dee seriously considered evicting Devens, she may have liked the idea too much to abandon it. After all, as she said during the episode, she might have been protecting Devens from herself all along.

The funniest part of all this vote drama (which also includes Melody lying to Drew about how she voted)? Taylor doesn’t even care about it.

New HOH comes up BIG

After all this unnecessary vote drama, there was still a HOH competition to be had. And we got a very interesting result. The tall man came up big and is your new HOH.

The Crossovers, of course, think this should be good news for them. But thanks to the BB Blockbuster scuttling Barrett’s efforts the last two weeks, the Crossovers still don’t realize how radicalized the Mallory eviction has made Barrett against them.

There is some good news for at least one member of the Crossovers — Barrett tells Drew he’s safe. Even better, he also says Melody is safe too. The bad news? An icon might have to go.

Drew- Do you want an icon to go? Barrett- I don't know. Drew- If you get houseguest's choice, I'll play that veto and do whatever you want. Barrett- I don't want to scare you. Drew- I don't care. You said I'm safe #BB28

Angela is nervous, and Barrett gave Devens a pretty non-committal answer that he thinks Devens will be safe (this is not true), but Dee senses danger ahead for the Icons.

Dee and Devens are worried about Melody. Devens thinks Barrett will nominate Melody, because she got a free pass last week. Dee says if Barrett doesn’t nominate Melody, then it is a huge problem. It turns out she’s right to be nervous, as Barrett tells Melody and Drew that his nomination options to start are the Icons plus Yash. This will certainly not go over well with the Icons, especially Dee. But, if Barrett turns on the Icons, Dee is ready to spill all the secrets at her disposal. And that could include the true nature of her BB Bribe deal with Yash.

The night ends with Barrett giggling gleefully about the opportunity to nominate all three icons. And he made it clear what his goal for the week is.

As noted above, Aubry Bracco might have been happy with Devens’ BB Blockbuster win on Thursday. But at least one other CBS reality star was less than thrilled with the outcome.
