Fantasy football draft season has arrived, so I ran a 12-team PPR mock draft to see what a roster could look like when selecting from the No. 1 pick position.

Holding the first overall pick gives fantasy football managers their choice of every player on the board, but it also comes with a significant wait between selections. Drafting from the turn makes planning ahead especially important, as positional runs can dramatically change the available talent before your next pair of picks. Here’s a round-by-round look at my 12-team PPR fantasy football mock draft, including full draft results and how the final roster came together.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft Results: 12-Team PPR

Round 1, Pick 1: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions

Other top players available: Ja’Marr Chase, Bijan Robinson, Puka Nacua

You can’t go wrong picking between Gibbs and Bijan Robinson first overall. The former is an efficiency machine set for an expanded role after already posting an overall RB1 finish in 2024. The latter is an immensely talented athlete primed for a monstrous workload. I give the edge to Gibbs due to his situation, as Detroit’s offense is much more established than the Falcons. The highest-paid running back in football should produce another incredible fantasy campaign.

I’m very excited to see what Walker III can do as the featured back in one of the NFL’s most exciting offenses. The Chiefs will need to rely on him heavily in both the rushing and passing game, setting the stage for RB1 production. Kansas City has been looking for a true dual-threat bell cow for years, and they may have found their man.

Round 3, Pick 25: Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders

Picking first overall, I like the concept of doubling down on specific positional advantages, taking the best player in the draft in Gibbs and following it up by selecting one of the two best tight ends. Bowers is primed to bounce back in a massive way after injuries derailed his sophomore NFL season. Las Vegas’ offensive situation has improved drastically, and Kirk Cousins (or Fernando Mendoza whenever he takes over) is going to look early and often to his safety blanket in Bowers. The 23-year-old is one of the best athletes in the game and should push Trey McBride for the overall TE1 finish.

Round 4, Pick 48: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Denver Broncos

After punting on receiver until the fourth round, it was time to find a balance of upside and security. The first of my two picks at the turn did the former. Denver’s WR room is crowded, but Waddle seems to have separated himself as Bo Nix’s top option. The speedster should connect with his new QB frequently regardless of game plan, and Sean Payton will love utilizing his versatility. Waddle has legit WR1 potential, which I gladly took at this point in the draft.

Here comes the security, assuming he can stay healthy. McLaurin isn’t going to see the necessary target share to put up top-5 WR numbers, but if he can stay on the field he’ll almost certainly outperform his ADP. Washington’s offense is primed to bounce back after a down year, and McLaurin is only one season removed from racking up 82 receptions for 1,096 and a whopping 13 touchdowns. After not taking a receiver in the first three rounds, I suddenly picked up two who have WR1 upside.

Round 6, Pick 72: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Other top players available: Rhamondre Stevenson, Harold Fannin Jr., Chuba Hubbard

Thomas Jr. is becoming a mainstay across my mock drafts. Throughout camp so far, BTJ has looked like a more polished version of the rookie sensation we saw in 2024, instead of the inconsistent, fantasy frustration who took the field last year. If he can return to form and serve as the true WR1 in this elite offense, he will vastly outperform the value of a sixth-round selection.

Round 7, Pick 73: Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots

Another player I’m targeting in every draft this season is Stevenson. TreVeyon Henderson truthers may have to wait another year for the game-breaking back to reach his full potential, as Rhamondre is still the lead RB in New England until proven otherwise. The veteran is a capable three-down back who excels in pass pro and as a receiver, while still possessing early-down bruiser qualities. When he’s not putting the ball on the ground (which was the case down the stretch in the 2025 campaign) he’s one of the better running backs in football. Henderson will cap his upside as they should split the work 60/40, but Stevenson is due for 10-15 touches a game with plenty of goal-line opportunities.

After snagging BTJ, this selection became even easier than it would’ve already been. From Weeks 9-18 last season, Trevor Lawrence was THE QB1. Yes, you read that correctly. The former first overall pick was the definition of elite, and there’s no reason to expect drastic regression this year. I love this value in the eighth round, as waiting on QB is almost necessary with the first overall pick.

Corum heads into the season no longer solely serving as a handcuff to Kyren Williams, but offering standalone redraft value. Williams will still be the No. 1 RB in L.A.’s offense, but the Corum should see around 35-40% of the touches with multiple series dedicated to him each week. In this offense, that’s enough to warrant FLEX value depending on the matchup. If Williams ever gets hurt, Corum is immediately catapulted into RB1 territory.

With Kayshon Boutte officially out of the equation, Doubs is Drake Maye’s solidified No. 2 receiver. The new Patriots has looked the part throughout preseason as well, dominating in all of New England’s joint practices. Don’t be fooled by Doubs size, he’s an elite jump-ball winner and separator who has a clear path to significantly outperforming his ADP.

Speaking of outperforming your ADP, if the Stribling hype train even comes to 75% of fruition, this will be a massive steal. With Mike Evans already pretty banged up heading into the year and Deebo Samuel aging, there’s a solid chance Stribling will be called upon as San Francisco’s No. 1 receiver on occasion in 2026. The rookie has flashed immense potential in preseason, making him the perfect late-round flyer in fantasy drafts.

With my last pick of the draft, I chased more upside in Tyjae Spears. A top-tier receiving back who will feature heavily in offense that should produce a multitude of young-QB friendly dump downs? Sign me up! If Tony Pollard ever goes down, Spears will immediately enter must-start territory, but he could have weekly RB3/FLEX upside regardless depending on the matchup.

This draft leaves a little to be desired at receiver, but the advantage found at running back and tight end should allow for me to chase weekly upside at WR. Securing enough depth after picking first overall is always a challenge in 12-team leagues, but I’d be very content with the flexibility found in this group heading into the 2026 fantasy season.
