With fantasy football draft season already underway for some leagues, I ran a 12-team PPR mock draft to see what a roster could look like when selecting from the No. 9 pick position.
Picking near the end of a snake draft this year proved to be an interesting challenge. Here’s a round-by-round look at my 12-team PPR fantasy football mock draft, including full draft results and how the final roster came together.
Fantasy Football Mock Draft Results: 12-Team PPR
Round 1, Pick 9: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboy
Other top players available: Justin Jefferson, James Cook, De’Von Achane
The concept of reaching a little to take De’Von Achane ninth overall intrigued me, especially after HC Jeff Hafley declared his superstar back could see 40 touches (!!) some games. However, Achane’s injury history and likelihood of having nothing to play for when the fantasy postseason rolls around made me opt for a more secure player. I expect CeeDee Lamb to return to elite WR1 status in 2026 after a relative down 2025 campaign. Even with George Pickens in the equation, there will be more than enough targets to go around for Lamb to regularly shoot for 100 yards and a touchdown weekly. Dallas’ passing attack projects to be one of the best in the league, and you know what you’re getting with this Dak-CeeDee connection.

Round 2, Pick 16: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Part of why I opted to take Lamb with my first-rounder is because I was confident an elite running back would be waiting for me after the turn, and that’s exactly what happened. Las Vegas upgraded its offensive line significantly this offseason, putting Jeanty in a much more fantasy-friendly situation. Regardless of if it’s Kirk Cousins or Fernando Mendoza under center, I anticipate the Raiders relying heavily on Jeanty in the rushing and passing game. He’s likely looking at 20-30 touches weekly with massive upside.

Yes, Kyren Williams projects to remain in a committee with Blake Corum this year, but does it really matter if you’re playing in the best offense in football? Williams should still see a 60-65% snap share with a definitive edge over his backfield mate, putting him in position to receiving 16-22 high-level opportunity touches weekly. Kyren may not be an RB1 weekly, but he provides a strong RB2 floor with obvious upside.

Round 4, Pick 40: Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens
Other top players available: Ladd McConkey, Lamar Jackson, Javonte Williams
Flowers avoided a major injury scare just days after signing his new massive contract extension, letting fantasy managers (and Ravens fans) breathe a sigh of relief. Coming off a monstrous 2025 season in which he racked up 86 receptions for 1,211 yards and five touchdowns, Flowers is poised to push for low-end fantasy WR1 production again this year. The Ravens offense isn’t always the most receiver-friendly, but Zay has established himself enough to warrant a sizable target share. I love this value in the fourth round of drafts.

Round 5, Pick 57: David Montgomery, RB, Houston Texans

Watching the Lions last year, it seemed clear that David Montgomery still had plenty of juice left in the tank, and I’m glad the Texans concur and plan to make him their featured back this year. Monty is capable of handling a bell cow’s workload, and he should provide Houston with consistency to take 15-20 touches weekly and turn it into strong production. Receiving upside has always been a limitation in the veteran’s game, but it sounds like he’s improving in that regard throughout camp. Montgomery could push for high-end RB2 upside regularly.

Round 6, Pick 64: Jayden Daniels, QB, Washington Commanders

Spending a valuable mid-round pick on Daniels is a bit of a risk, but if the former ROTY fully returns to his pre-injury form, you’re getting a steal in the late fifth/early sixth. Daniels is a top-two rushing quarterback in the game, giving him a low-end QB1 weekly floor when he’s healthy. Washington’s offense projects to bounce back in a big way this year, and he should be the largest beneficiary of that.

Round 7, Pick 81: Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions

LaPorta is finally healthy and ready to return to the fold as an elite fantasy tight end. He appears poised to play a significant role in one of the best offensive units in football. If that potential becomes a reality, this is an absolute steal in the seventh round. At the very least, LaPorta’s usage should see a decent spike from 2025 and he’ll be a consistent weekly low-range TE1. This was my last chance to secure a tight end who could realistically finish top-five at his position, so I jumped at the opportunity.

Round 8, Pick 88: Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Other top players available: Kyle Monangai, RJ Harvey, Alec Pierce
If the Michael Wilson we saw in 2025 is the Michael Wilson we get in 2026, this is one of the best values in the draft, period. From Weeks 9-18 last year, Wilson was PPR WR3. Yes, you read that correctly. And yet for some reason, people continue to believe Marvin Harrison Jr. will figure it out and emerge as this stud WR1 he was drafted to be. That could end up being the case, but I’d rather wait a few rounds and take a guy who could be a mainstay in your starting lineup if he reaches his potential.

Bucky Irving is still the guy in Tampa Bay’s backfield, but the Bucs are going to find ways to get Kenny Gainwell on the field a lot. Whether it’s as a receiving back or actually lined up as a WR, I believe the veteran can push for 4-7 receptions for game, giving him immediate FLEX upside. If Irving gets hurt (which has been a problem), Gainwell would skyrocket into RB1 territory.

After picking Daniels earlier, it was a no-brainer to take a flyer on his projected WR2 in Diggs. The veteran is coming off a 1,000-yard campaign, proving he still has plenty of juice left in the tank. Diggs could provide weekly WR3/FLEX value depending on matchups and the health of Terry McLaurin.

Brooks has suffered two ACL tears in his right knee, but is seemingly finally healthy and looking dynamic as ever. If that remains the case, he has a shot to overtake Chuba Hubbard as the top RB in Carolina. We’re looking at a committee here no matter what, but Brooks will be labeled a late-round steal by many leading into Week 1.

Strange has become a regular in these mock drafts. He proved himself as a fringe fantasy starter in the 2025 season, and he should continue to carve out a sizable role and strengthen his rapport with Trevor Lawrence this year. Strange is the perfect second tight end in drafts, especially if you’re taking your projected starter after the seventh round.

Picking out of the No. 9 position made it clear that I needed to chase a QB earlier than I may have wanted to (if I miss out on Allen or Maye I typically wait until Round 8 or later), which led me to select multiple veteran, solidified contributors in the later rounds rather than chasing upside. This isn’t my favorite team, but it projects to be a strong contender with depth.
