What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Week 6 was chaos. Yash won both HOH and the Power of Veto (in the OTEV competition, no less), giving him total control of the house. He nominated Haley, Angela and Dee — putting two Icons on the block for the first time this season. But Devens struck back with the Diamond Power of Veto, removing Dee and replacing her with Kamu.

Angela won the BB Blockbuster in a dramatic ball-sorting competition, taking herself off and leaving Haley and Kamu as the final nominees. Kamu was evicted 8-1, with only LaLa voting against Haley.

The vote itself wasn’t straightforward. Kamu and Yash spent the week putting a full court press on Melody and Mallory to keep Kamu and target the Icons. Drew ultimately influenced them to flip back against Kamu — but Devens threatened Drew and Barrett that they were responsible for those votes, and if things didn’t go as planned he’d blow up their games. The Mosh Pit (Dee, Devens, Angela, Barrett, Drew, Melody, Mallory) was formed as a new seven-person alliance, but it’s built on shaky ground.

Yash made critical mistakes — his “no bros on the block” philosophy limited his options, he left Haley as a nominee when he should have replaced her with Barrett or Devens — and as a result, he lost his top ally while holding all the power. What to expect on Big Brother tonight

The HOH competition

Eleven houseguests remain and the house is splitting into two clear sides — even if the players involved don’t fully realize it yet. The Mosh Pit (the Icons + Barrett, Drew, Melody, Mallory) represents the numbers, but Melody and Mallory are already questioning their loyalty to it. Yash, Taylor, LaLa represent the opposition, but they lost their strongest comp threat in Kamu. And Haley is floating somewhere in the middle up for grabs.

Who wins HOH defines whether the Icons continue their run or face their second consecutive week of danger. Yash is ineligible after holding power last week. If Taylor or LaLa wins, the Icons are back in the crosshairs. If an Icon or one of their loyal numbers (Barrett, Drew) wins, the target likely shifts to Yash or Taylor. And if Mallory or Melody wins — the two players most publicly torn between sides — the result could go either direction.

The Mosh Pit’s expiration date

The Mosh Pit is a seven-person alliance on paper: Dee, Devens, Angela, Barrett, Drew, Melody and Mallory. In practice, it’s the Crossovers absorbing two players who aren’t sure they want to be absorbed.

Mallory and Melody saw first-hand this week how the Icons operate — Devens threatened Drew and Barrett, Dee’s sloppy play almost got her sent home, and the Diamond POV reveal showed the house exactly how much hidden power the Icons have been hoarding. The power rankings suggest Mallory and Melody flipping to the Yash-Taylor-LaLa side would create an interesting 5v5 dynamic with Haley up for grabs. That’s a real alternative to remaining at the bottom of the Mosh Pit.

The Mosh Pit’s implosion could come as soon as this week. If it does, the Icons lose their numbers advantage and suddenly face a house where they’re outnumbered for the first time all season.

Yash’s rebound opportunity

Yash had a rough week by his own doing — lost his top ally, made strategic mistakes and watched Devens override his HOH with the Diamond POV. But the power rankings still moved him up to No. 3, behind only Dee and Devens. Why? Because he won both HOH and Power of Veto in the same week, establishing himself as the biggest remaining comp threat now that Kamu is gone.

Yash can’t compete for HOH this week, which puts him in a vulnerable position. But he’s also not without allies. Taylor is still connected to him. If Mallory and Melody do flip, Yash becomes the comp beast anchoring a coalition that can actually challenge the Icons. His path forward depends on whether the people around him have the conviction to act on what they’ve been saying — that the Icons need to go before it’s too late.

Drew’s no man’s land

The power rankings are blunt: Drew is a frustrating player. He sold out his For The American People alliance to the Icons multiple times this week, left a sour taste in Melody and Mallory’s mouths, and earned favor with nobody despite getting the result he wanted (Kamu gone). Yash is blaming him most for Kamu’s eviction. And Melody — his closest ally and showmance partner — is starting to distrust him.

Drew’s middle game worked when the house was big enough to hide in. With 11 people left, there’s nowhere to hide. He needs to pick a side and commit, or he’s going to find himself in a no man’s land where neither the Icons nor the opposition trust him. The power rankings also note that if he’s throwing comps, that needs to stop. At some point you need power or you need loyalty — and right now Drew has neither locked in.

The Icons’ sloppy survival

Dee and Devens are still No. 1 and No. 2 in the power rankings, but the margin for error is thinning. Devens’ Diamond POV play saved Dee and took out Kamu — a strong move on paper. But the execution this week was far from clean. Devens threatened Drew and Barrett. Dee had bad reads on who was with her. Barrett spent the week cuddling with Dee instead of playing the game. And the Icons thought they could just play the DPOV and have the house fall in line without doing the work to fully secure Melody and Mallory’s votes.

They got the result they wanted, but the process exposed them. The entire house now knows Devens had the Diamond POV hidden for weeks. That information can’t be taken back. The mystique of the Icons depended partly on the house not understanding how much power they were hoarding — that veil is gone now.

Haley’s survival streak continues

Haley has now survived being on the block twp consecutive weeks. She was LaLa’s target in Week 5, sat on the block again in Week 6, and survived both attempts to eject her out of the house. She’s ranked No. 9 in this week’s power rankings— up three spots — which is the highest she’s been since the early weeks of the season.

Haley still has enemies everywhere and no formal alliance. But her willingness to play as a free agent, her comp ability (winning the Blockbuster two weeks ago), and the fact that bigger targets keep materializing around her gives her a path she didn’t have a month ago. If the Mosh Pit implodes and the house splits 5v5, Haley becomes the swing vote everyone needs — and that’s the most power she’s had since her HOH.
