The Savu branch of the Helicopter alliance held strong last week, as Devin survived a blindside attempt from Alexis thanks to Ori and Jelly staying Helicopter strong. But not even the Helicopter alliance could save one of them this week, as a member of Savu was guaranteed to go home.
After another immunity challenge loss, Jelly revealed her hidden immunity idol at Tribal Council but chose not to play it. She remained loyal to Devin, and Ori was sent home instead.
Savu is down to two castaways, but help is on the way. The preview for next week’s episode reveals the merge is coming. So with that in mind, who could be in danger as everyone comes back together?
Check out who could be going home in Survivor 51 Episode 7.
Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next?
Mike — Toka
Mike is feeling on the outs and like there are arrows are pointed at him. And he’s not wrong, as there there have been open talks about targeting him, including between Brady and Carter this week.
Brady says the more he looks at Mike, the more he realizes Mike is focused only on himself and his own agenda, and that’s why he has no allies. He’s also annoyed that he’s out hunting idols, which he lies about and says he was out looking for food. Mike, for his part, knows his relationship with Brady is getting worse, not better, and that Brady is always watching him like a hawk. Both sides have had enough of the other and are ready to flip on the other. And everyone on the tribe doesn’t want Mike to get a chance to go to the Summit, with Thien An taking steps to make sure he doesn’t get to go.
Like I said two weeks ago, the problem with Mike is he’s 0 to 100 immediately, he takes big swings. He proposes a “trade” with Kristin, who he sees as key to his survival, but from his weakened position he really has nothing of value to offer her. And she knows it. She knows he’s at the bottom, and it makes her disinclined to align with him. Another swing and a miss for the Yankees exec. In the end, it feels like Mike is down 0-2 in the bottom of the ninth. He says he wants to get a chance to run wild and play his game, but from what we’ve seen I question whether he can hang in the big leagues.
Kilby — Dina
Kilby made his big move last week, choosing to stick with Lewis and force the hands of the other members of Dina, the now Savu 3. Kilby admitted that, while Eric was upset with him in the moment, he believed he could pull Eric back into his orbit. This week’s opening proved he was mistaken.
Eric came back from the previous Tribal Council saying he understood Lewis’ actions, but not Kilby’s. That distinction angered him because he thought he and Kilby were good and that the former Savu members would have protected him. Kilby tries to argue that if he voted for Lewis he would have betrayed a friend, and Kilby is loyal to his friends. Which sure you could make that argument, except you just betrayed Eric who also thought you were developing a strong friendship. He told Kilby he wanted to be not an alliance mate, but a friend. And this “disloyal move” changed how an emotional Eric saw Kilby: now he sees Kilby as the most dangerous player in the game. So that argument actually probably hurt Kilby more than it helped him, as Eric says he saw this as the biggest betrayal he’s ever felt.
And with the merge coming, Kilby is going to need all the allies he can get. We already know he is not on good terms with Devin, and Devin during his excursion a few weeks back made sure to poison the well when it came to Kilby. So, once the tribes merge next week, it would be very easy for Devin to pick up where he left off and begin building momentum to send Kilby home. Kilby’s interesting game moves have come at a cost. He chose to go to war openly with Devin and spurned the former Savu members on Dina, decisions that will keep reverberating for as long as he remains in the game.
Sharonda — Dina
I’m going to go off the board a little bit here. I was initially considering putting Jelly here, as I think it is clear to everyone that she and Devin are a pair in the game and that puts a target on the back. She proved once again this week she’s a ride-or-die with him, and Dev recognizes they are going to have to separate at some point.
But the tethered idol changes the equation, especially after Ori’s elimination. Once Kristin reached Exile Island, she learned that if both Ori and Sharonda were voted out, the idol that could initially be used only for one of them would become a full-fledged idol. For Kristin, a longtime Survivor hopeful, that creates a powerful incentive to turn on Sharonda. And Sharonda won’t even see it coming because she thinks Kristin has to use the idol on her.
The other problem for Sharonda is her tribemates aren’t buying the story she tells once she gets back from the summit. She doesn’t tell the other members of Dina that Kristin has this idol, and Kilby and Lewis are skeptical because Jeff doesn’t give a free meal. With Cristian saying earlier in the episode that he needs to stop thinking in terms of “we” and start thinking in terms of “I,” he could join Kilby and Lewis (two players he has said he is open to working with) and vote out Sharonda.
Sharonda should have Devin and Jelly in her corner, but I can see the threat level rising and it’s all because of an idol which had things played out differently at Tribal Council this week would have helped guarantee her safety.
