Week 5 gets started in primetime when the Cowboys (2-2) host the Buccaneers (0-4). It’s been a rocky start for Dallas, due in part to an inconsistent defense. Still, this offense remains capable of putting up 30 points against almost anyone. Leading the charge is CeeDee Lamb, one of the sport’s elite wide receivers. Can he deliver another impressive performance on Thursday Night Football?
The Cowboys enter Thursday’s contest as 8.5-point favorites over the Bucs. Let’s break down the best CeeDee Lamb prop bet available tonight on DraftKings Sportsbook.
CeeDee Lamb Receptions Prop Bet vs. Buccaneers
Following an injury-hampered 2025 campaign, there were plenty of questions about Lamb coming into this season. Through four games, it’s safe to say those concerns have been put to rest. The 27-year-old has recorded a league-leading 37 catches for 498 yards, re-establishing himself as Dak Prescott’s number one option. The presence of fellow Pro Bowler George Pickens seems to have only helped, forcing opposing secondaries to cover the entire field. As a unit, the Cowboys are averaging the NFL’s seventh-most passing yards per game (258.0). During his last time out, on Sunday vs. the Texans, Lamb notched a whopping 17 receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown.
What makes Lamb so special is that he’s somewhat matchup-proof. If the Cowboys are ever trailing, they’re not afraid to sling it during the second half. However, it’s almost impossible for this team to get an early lead without feeding their most dangerous weapon. Granted, there is some blowout potential in tonight’s contest. The winless Buccaneers are in a bad spot, forced to start rookie Jalon Daniels at quarterback with starter Baker Mayfield (thumb) injured. It wouldn’t be a shock if Dallas, at home, wins by double-digits on Thursday.
As an added note of caution, Tampa Bay’s secondary hasn’t been that bad. As a unit, they’re allowing a respectable 24.0 points and 204.3 passing yards per game to opponents. In addition, the team has given up the second-fewest receptions (35) and second-fewest yards (423) to opposing wide receivers. However, it’s fair to wonder if some of that is due to trailing in almost every contest. Other teams haven’t had a need to throw the ball late against the Bucs.
On a short week, you never know which way a game will turn. The Cowboys, for all their firepower, may start off a bit sluggish on offense. That could be just what Lamb needs for a monster second half. Even if the home team dominates from the jump, there should be opportunities to produce in this one. Keep in mind, Lamb has snagged 7+ catches in each of his previous three appearances. To boot, he’s reached this total in two of his three career meetings with Tampa Bay. A couple of good drives might be all Dallas’ superstar needs to come through tonight.
