Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers prediction, pick for Friday 7/24/26

A massive three-game set is on tap this weekend in Arlington. The AL West has been wide open all season, with three different squads still in the hunt for a postseason berth. Right now, it’s the Rangers (51-51) clinging to a half-game lead in first place. However, the Mariners (51-52) will be eager to re-establish their position as division favorites. Which of these two rivals will come out on top tonight?

The Rangers are favorites (-111) over the Mariners, with the over/under set at 7.5 runs. Below, I’ve laid out my preview, prediction, and best bet for Friday’s showdown between Seattle and Texas on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Mariners vs. Rangers pick, best bet today

  • Mariners ML (-108): Gore is no slouch, but there’s not much debate that Miller has been the better pitcher this season. Right now, it’s difficult to determine whether the lefty will have success or if Seattle’s mediocre offense will get going tonight. What does feel certain is that Miller can stifle these Rangers bats. That’s enough reason to side with the slight underdogs in this 50/50 matchup.

Mariners vs. Rangers prediction, preview

If nothing else, the Mariners still possess one of baseball’s best starting rotations. That includes Bryce Miller, currently in the midst of an impressive bounce back campaign. Through 63.1 innings of work (ten starts), the right-hander has notched a 2.27 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 71 strikeouts (10.1 K/9). Those numbers are backed up by stellar advanced metrics. Miller sits within the 90th percentile in xERA (2.49), xBA (.199), chase rate (36.2%), strikeout rate (29.5), walk rate (4.1%) and hard-hit rate (29.6%). Granted, taking the mound for half of his games at spacious T-Mobile Park has certainly helped. However, it’s not as if Texas’ Globe Life Field is a drastically different offensive environment. The ball park ranks as the second-most pitcher-friendly venue in baseball per Savant.

The Rangers have gained some momentum at the plate, scoring the eighth-most runs in baseball over their previous ten contests (51). After a rough start, Texas’ offense is a respectable 12th in on-base percentage (.320) and 15th in slugging percentage (.402). However, this lineup isn’t the most intimidating. That’s especially true with star shortstop Corey Seager (back) on the injured list. They’re also worse at Globe Life, averaging the league’s seventh-fewest runs per game at home (4.00). Miller has allowed two total runs over his last two meetings with the Rangers (1.64 ERA). To boot, the Rangers have posted the fourth-worst OPS at home against right-handed pitching (.674).

On the other side, it’ll be MacKenzie Gore making his 22nd start of the season. Over 110.2 innings pitched, the former Nationals ace has recorded a 4.80 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 122 strikeouts (9.9 K/9). Safe to say, it hasn’t been the most successful debut with his new club. It’s worth noting that Gore has been far more effective at home (3.44 ERA) than on the road (6.02 ERA). However, he’s still plagued by lackluster command (3.4 BB/9) and a knack for giving up extra base hits. The southpaw sits within the bottom 31st percentile in barrel rate (8.8%), hard-hit rate (44.1%) and opponent average exit velocity (89.8 MPH).

Tonight’s matchup presents a battle between a stoppable force and a movable object. As previously mentioned, Gore has been erratic at best this season. However, the Mariners aren’t lighting the world on fire offensively. They’re 29th in runs scored (415) and OPS (.687). In addition, Seattle’s .636 OPS vs. left-handed pitching ranks last in all of baseball. With that being said, the M’s have had success in this spot. When they last saw Gore on April 19th, they tallied five runs over five innings.

Best Bet: Mariners ML (-108)

When assessing two similar teams with near-even odds, I tend to back whichever side has the superior pitcher. In that regard, the advantage here clearly tilts in Seattle’s favor. Miller has been dominant in 2026, supported by outstanding peripherals. It’s a different story for Gore, who has been near-impossible to trust with any level of confidence. Keeping that in mind, the Mariners make sense this evening as underdogs.
