Big Brother Season 28 sent Rome home last week, but the Toolshed’s biggest threat going forward might be itself. Sunday’s episode kicks off Week 3 with a new Head of Household competition, and for the first time this season, the dominant alliance enters the week with real internal fractures. Here’s everything to know about the episode, including the air time, how to watch and what to expect.

What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Rome was evicted by a vote of 12-1 after Devens’ backdoor plan played out as designed. Jason won the BB Blockbuster and took himself off the block, but it didn’t matter — the Toolshed had the numbers and their main target Rome couldn’t escape.

The more interesting story was what happened beneath the surface. Drew and Barrett both expressed frustration with their positions at the bottom of the Toolshed totem pole. Drew openly said he WANTED Rome to win the Blockbuster, WANTED Rome to win HOH next week and WANTED Rome to nuke the Toolshed — his own alliance. Barrett told Mallory he wasn’t thrilled being the last person called to the now-infamous 4:30 a.m. HOH room meeting. The two formed a Final 2 and discussed potentially targeting Kamu, Haley and Chuk down the line.

The vote itself was nearly unanimous. Even Lyric voted against her own showmance partner. Taylor was the only houseguest to vote to keep Rome.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight

A pivotal HOH competition

Devens can’t compete this week. That means two of the Toolshed’s reality icons — Dee (Week 1 HOH) and Devens (Week 2 HOH and veto winner) — are both ineligible. The alliance still has Angela, Barrett, Drew, Kamu, Haley and Chuk in the mix, but the question is whether any of those six actually want to win for the alliance’s benefit or their own.

Drew wanted Rome to blow up the Toolshed. Barrett is questioning his place in the hierarchy. If either of them wins HOH, do they play it safe for the group, or do they start making moves for themselves? Meanwhile, Angela has been dreaming of an opportunity to take out Drew. And if someone fully outside the Toolshed — Jason, Lyric, Melody, Mallory — takes power, the entire dynamic of the season could shift overnight.

The Toolshed is cracking from within

The alliance ran Weeks 1 and 2 with an iron grip. Eight members, complete control, two consecutive HOH reigns. On paper, they should be cruising into Week 3. In reality, the foundation is showing serious wear.

Angela’s paranoia about Drew has become a defining feature of the alliance’s internal dynamics. She and Dee have been openly badmouthing Drew despite the fact that he has done nothing but provide information and stay loyal to the Crossovers. Drew may finally be catching on that his loyalty is not being reciprocated, and his Final 2 with Barrett suggests he’s building an exit strategy. Barrett is also drifting — his flirtmance with Dee fizzled, he’s at the bottom of the hierarchy, and Mallory is actively pitching him to flip sides.

The Toolshed didn’t lose this week. But it might be losing the people who made it work.

Drew’s dangerous position

Drew sits at No. 1 in our power rankings for a reason — he’s been the most active, most connected player in the house through two weeks. He has alliances everywhere, brings information back reliably and built his game on being indispensable to the Crossovers.

The problem is that Angela sees his influence as a threat rather than an asset. She thinks Drew is running the house, and rather than leveraging that for her own game, she wants to cut him down. Dee has been pulled into the same paranoia. Both women want more information flowing into the alliance while simultaneously distrusting the person providing it.

Drew’s response so far has been measured — forming the Jugglers Final 2 with Barrett and talking openly about wanting the Toolshed’s power structure disrupted. If Angela wins HOH this week, Drew could be in real danger from his own alliance. If Drew wins, things could get very interesting for Angela and the icons.

Lyric without Rome

Rome’s eviction frees Lyric in ways she might not fully appreciate yet. The showmance put a target on her back — she likely wouldn’t have been on the block last week if not for her connection to Rome. Now she can move differently, play her own game and build on the momentum she created by successfully campaigning herself off the block.

Lyric proved she can play. She sold a fake breakup (even if most didn’t buy it), she pitched Devens effectively enough to get saved over Melody, and she’s already positioned herself as a potential number for the HOH. The question is whether she uses this fresh start to embed herself in the game’s power structure or drifts without the person she trusted most.

Jason’s second life

Jason escaped Week 2 by the skin of his teeth — winning the BB Blockbuster after sitting on the block as the secondary target. His reputation in the house is in tatters after Angela exposed his scheming during the nomination ceremony. The Court Jesters alliance with Drew and Melody feels compromised. Mama’s Angels lost its founder.

But Jason is still here. And in Big Brother, still being here is all that matters. He enters Week 3 with everyone knowing exactly who he is, which in a strange way could work in his favor — there are no more secrets to reveal. The question is whether anyone sees value in working with him now that his cards are on the table.

Who is in the best position heading into Week 3?

Drew remains our top-ranked player despite the internal Toolshed tension. Kamu and Lyric are the biggest risers — Kamu for his social game and influence within the alliance, Lyric for proving she can campaign and compete on her own. The most vulnerable positions belong to Chuk (floating without impact), Jason (exposed and allianceless) and potentially Drew himself if Angela’s paranoia translates into action this week.
