Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington defeated Rene Palacios by unanimous decision (116-112, 117-111, 118-1110) to retain the WBC Featherweight title in the co-main event of Saturday’s boxing event, “The Fight” in Cleveland, Ohio. Carrington moves to 18-0, while Palacios has suffered the first loss of his professional boxing career.
This is Carrington’s first successful WBC Featherweight title defense since winning the title against Carlos Castro in January at Madison Square Garden. Before the fight, Carrington was -1400 to win the fight and +190 by decision on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Carrington finished with 151 total punches, 85 power punches and 66 jabs. The champion landed 25 more total punches, but Palacios recorded 18 more power punches.
