Is this a potential NFC Championship preview? Your milage with that statement likely depends on how you feel about the Rams, but we undoubtedly have two of the best team in the NFL squaring-off this evening in Green Bay. I guess my only complaint is that it won’t be snowing. Because nothing is better than watching a primetime game in the snow from the comfort of your warm couch. Alas.

Well, maybe one thing is better: Hitting a first touchdown scorer prop while watching a primetime game from your couch. Let’s break down the odds and a couple picks for tonight’s tilt between the Packers and the Eagles.

Eagles vs. Packers First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets

Josh Jacobs First Touchdown Scorer (+425)

The nice thing about betting the chalk in the first touchdown scorer market is that it still pays out over 4/1. I could try and make the case for a different player on the Packers’ roster, but the monopoly that Josh Jacobs enjoys in high-leverage situations is simply too good to pass on. If we classify the “goal line” as inside the opponent’s five-yard line, no one has scored more goal line touchdowns than Jacobs this season (7). It’s all about opportunity, as the 27-year-old has seen 100% of Green Bay’s rushing attempts from that area of the field. I’m not sure if Matt LaFleur has ornithophobia or not, but the man clearly hates birds, as there isn’t a single vulture on this roster. Whatever the case may be, it’s great news for Jacobs and his bettors.

Dallas Goedert First Touchdown Scorer (+1100)

While the public perception is that Jalen Hurts (+650) scores every Eagles’ touchdown on a Tush Push, that hasn’t really been the case in 2025. Hurts has actually only scored five touchdowns with his legs in Philadelphia’s first eight games, well off his 14.5 rushing touchdown pace from the past two seasons. As a whole, the Eagles are throwing the ball more often in the red zone. In 2024, only 40.9% of Philadelphia’s touchdowns were scored through the air. This season? That ratio is up to 57.7%, as Hurts has thrown for multiple touchdowns in five of his last six starts, and seven in specifically his last two contests. These trends, and the odds, have me leaning towards the Eagles’ first score being a reception on Monday Night Football. That’s where Dallas Goedert comes into the picture. Goedert has been Hurts’ favorite target in goal-to-go situations, with the TE seeing a whopping 45.5% of Philadelphia’s targets inside the opponent’s 10-yard line — the fourth-highest mark in the NFL. Unsurprisingly, that’s translated into Goedert having already set a new career-high with seven touchdowns in his seven games this season.
