Today’s most-bet MLB player props

Breakdown:
Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Runs (+275): Schwarber is the most-bet player prop of the night as he goes into his early evening matchup against righty Kevin Gausman and the Blue Jays. Schwarber has 21 long balls on the season, and two of those have come in his last five games, including one on Wednesday against the Cubs. On the year, he has an impressive 57.6% hard hit rate and 15.9% barrel rate. His batting average isn’t especially exciting at just .246 for the season and .219 over his last 20 games, but for this prop, his batting average doesn’t matter–only his big flies. Schwarber is 3-for-12 in his career against Gausman, and all three of those hits have been home runs, which may be part of the reason why so many are backing him to hit another on Friday night.
Aaron Judge 1+ Home Runs (+270): Judge and the Yankees are at Fenway to take on the Red Sox this weekend. He’s in a tough matchup against Garrett Crochet on Friday, which is why his odds are a little longer than customary for Judge, who continues to mash at a prodigious pace. He is 1-for-5 with four strikeouts against Crochet in his career, but he has demolished lefties this season with a .392 batting average and .578 wOBA in the split. He was out of the lineup on Thursday night, but he homered in each of the first two games against the Royals and had seven homers in his previous 11 games. During that impressive run, he had a 53.6% hard hit rate and 32.1% barrel rate, so there are a few good reasons to back Judge even in this tough matchup against Crochet, who has allowed just eight homers in 88 innings this season.
Shohei Ohtani 1+ Home Runs (+210): Ohtani is also facing his rival’s ace, as he and the Dodgers head to San Francisco and take on Logan Webb. Webb has not given up a home run to Ohtani in their past meetings, holding him to two doubles and an overall line of 4-for-11 with four walks and three strikeouts. Ohtani is always a threat to go deep, even though he hasn’t homered in his last nine games. He has 23 home runs on the year, and 19 have come against righties like Webb. Even though he hasn’t homered since June 2, he does have a 51.9% hard hit rate and 11.1% barrel rate over that span, so he’s still hitting the ball well as he heads in Friday’s matchup.
