The Anaheim Ducks visit the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night, with puck drop set for 9:00 p.m. ET at Rogers Arena. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Anaheim is a -155 favorite on the Moneyline, with the total set at O/U 6.5 goals.

Canucks vs. Ducks Betting Preview

Vancouver Canucks Outlook

Vancouver sports a poor 1-6-0 record at Rogers Arena this season, with five of those six losses coming by two goals or more. Offensively, the Canucks have scored two goals or fewer in 11 of 16 games, and their 21.5 shots per game are the fewest in the NHL. Elias Pettersson leads the team with 16 points, while Brock Boeser and Jonathan Lekkerimaki have 13 apiece and Filip Hronek has recorded 11 assists from the back end.

With Thatcher Demko (hip) possibly out until around Christmas, Kevin Lankinen is likely to get the start after Leevi Merilainen handled the past four outings for Vancouver. Lankinen hasn’t played since Oct. 22, and for good reason, as he allowed four or more goals in five of his previous six starts while going 1-7-0 overall. His -12.1 GSAx and -3.07% SV% above expected rank 74th and 73rd, respectively, among 74 goalies. If I’m being blunt, he’s probably the worst goaltender in the NHL right now.

Anaheim Ducks Outlook

Anaheim’s offense has come alive over the past week or so, totaling 17 goals across its last three outings, including a 6-3 win over Ottawa on Sunday. Leo Carlsson leads the club with 17 assists and 21 points, and the Ducks’ power play ranks second in the NHL at 34.0%. They’ve also played better on the road, posting a 4-3-0 road record compared to a 2-4-1 home record.

It has not been the same case defensively, as Anaheim has allowed 3.79 goals per game, good for the third-most in the league. To make things worse, the club remains without Troy Terry (hip), Ryan Poehling (knee) and now A.J. Greer, who was placed on injured reserve on Monday. Lukas Dostal will likely start between the pipes tonight with a 4-4-1 record, an .872 SV% and 3.56 GAA, and his +0.2 GSAx and +0.04% SV% above expected both rank 30th among 74 goalies, right around league average.

Canucks vs. Ducks Prediction and Best Bet

Vancouver did beat Anaheim 6-5 in overtime a week ago, but this is a team that rarely keeps games close at home, let alone scores more than two goals. With Lankinen back in net and the Ducks’ offense rolling lately, I’m comfortable laying the extra goal for a much better price than the -155 Moneyline.

Best Bet: Ducks Puck Line -1.5 (+154)
