How To Play King Of The Diamond
Make Your Picks
Bettors looking to play this new promotion will receive a token, which can only be used on a pre-game parlay.
Same Game Parlays (SGP), SGPx and parlays are the eligible bet types. Whichever parlay form a bettor chooses, that parlay must have 2-5 legs.
Eligible Markets
Player home run bets are the only options that can be featured in King of the Diamond parlays. (Examples: Aaron Judge 1+ Home Run, Shohei Ohtani 2+ home runs, etc.)
Betable Games
Any game that starts before 6 p.m. Eastern Time on the slated day will not be eligible for the King of the Diamond promotion.
(NOTE: Unlike previous versions of the promotion, the July 4 edition will include all games scheduled to play that day, regardless of start time.)
Minimum Odds
There are no minimum odds for King of the Diamond parlays.
Minimum Bet Amount
King of the Diamond bet minimum is $5 when not using a boosted token.
How A Player Is Named King of the Diamond
King of the Diamond is awarded to all MLB players who hit 1 or more home runs as part of the highest-scoring MLB team (from eligible games) of the day.
Each player featured in a bettor’s King of the Diamond parlay is an entry for the bettor into that day’s King of the Diamond $1 million prize pool.
If one of the winning MLB home-run hitters of the King of the Diamond contest is a part of the customer’s parlay on that day, they would split the prize pool with fellow winning bettors; even if the qualifying parlay does not hit in its entirety.
What If Multiple Players Are Named King of the Diamond?
When multiple players meet the winning criteria to be named King of the Diamond, all bettors who bet on at least one of the winning players will split the day’s $1 million prize pool.
If a bettor gets multiple King of the Diamond picks right, that bettor will receive the same cut of the $1 million prize pool as bettors who get one pick right on that slate. Having more than one winning MLB player in a qualifying bet does not entitle the bettor to a higher share of the $1M prize pool.
Here are some sample scenarios to help further clarify:
- Sample Scenario 1: If 20,000 bettors used their token on Aaron Judge and/or Jazz Chisholm Jr and those two players are named the Kings of the Diamond by virtue of being the only players to hit a HR for the Yankees on a day when the Yankees are the highest-scoring team in the league, bettors who picked either hitter or both hitters will each receive a $50 bonus bet the following morning.
- Sample Scenario 2: If the Dodgers are the highest-scoring team on a King of the Diamond slate their home run hitters are Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, but Betts hit two home runs and Ohtani only hit one, both will be named King of the Diamond. Bettors who picked Betts and/or Ohtani will then receive equal shares of the prize pool.
- Sample Scenario 3: Multiple teams could share the title of “highest-scoring team” for a single day. In this instance, any qualifying wager that includes a batter with a home run for any of the teams that tied for “highest-scoring” will share the jackpot prize. If the Braves and Phillies were to tie as the highest-scoring team on the slate and the only two home-run hitters were Atlanta’s Matt Olson and Philadelphia’s Bryce Harper, then bettors who featured either or both of those players in their King of the Diamond SGP/SGPx/parlay would receive an equal cut of the prize pool.
Other Scenarios To Note
- Having a batter on the highest-scoring team in your qualifying parlay is not enough to win a share of the jackpot prize. That batter must also hit a home run to win a share of the jackpot.
- In the event that the highest-scoring team on the day had zero home runs, or if the only home-run hitters from the game had zero qualifying SGP/SGPx/parlay entries associated with him, the contest will treat the second-highest-scoring team as the highest-scoring for the purposes of determining who splits the jackpot. If the second-highest-scoring-team faces the same issues as the first, then the third-highest-scoring team will be treated as the highest-scoring, and so on.
- In the event that one or more legs of a bettor’s qualifying SGP/SGPx/parlay wager are voided — due to rainouts, injury, etc. — the batters in the remaining legs would still be active within the promotion. This includes instances where the entry is effectively reduced to a single wager.
