The Kansas City Chiefs’ magic number — besides 15, of course — is down to one. With a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in western Pennsylvania on Christmas Day or a Buffalo Bills home loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, the Chiefs will secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC and a […]

Over the last two weeks, there have been fewer NBA games than usual, owing to the knockout stages of the Emirates NBA Cup, which concluded last Tuesday. No team has benefited more from the de-densified schedule than the Los Angeles Lakers, whose time off has allowed oft-injured co-stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis to preserve […]

As Ja Morant goes, so do the Memphis Grizzlies. In the 2022-23 season, Morant played 61 games and Memphis finished 51-31, nabbing the second seed in the Western Conference. Then, the season after, suspension and injury limited Morant to just nine games, and the Grizzlies missed the playoffs entirely. This year, Morant has played 17 […]

Of all the good teams in the Western Conference, the emphasis has rightly been on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. But last season’s conference champions, the Dallas Mavericks, have been as good as ever, winning eight of their last 10 and climbing to fourth in the standings. Monday Night Football will mark Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s second-ever game at Lambeau Field in an opposing uniform, and, while he was quiet in his first return, he’s enjoying somewhat of a career renaissance with the New Orleans Saints. The former Green Bay Packers wideout was one of Aaron Rodgers’ more reliable targets early in his career, […]

It’s hard to expect too much from a team that just lost its starting quarterback for the rest of the season. It’s even harder to have high expectations when its star running back, one of the best dual-threat players in the league, will also miss the game. That’s the situation that the New Orleans Saints […]

We’ve got a potential division decider on our hands: On Saturday afternoon — yes, you read that right — the 9-5 Baltimore Ravens will welcome the 10-4 Pittsburgh Steelers for an all-important clash. If the Steelers win, the AFC North is effectively theirs, and if the Ravens win, Pittsburgh will still be in front, but […]

After winning three straight NFC South titles and winning the Super Bowl as a wild card in 2020, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the NFL’s third-longest active playoff streak. A win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football this week would go a long way towards extending their streak to five seasons, with the […]
