DraftKings King of the End Zone Picks for Bears vs. Seahawks Monday Night Football Game

DraftKings King of the End Zone Picks for Bears vs. Seahawks Monday Night Football Game

Published:

By: Zach Thompson

Week 8 comes to a close on Monday with a great matchup that could be an NFC playoff preview between the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. To add even more excitement to the contest, DraftKings Sportsbook is ready to roll with another massive King of the End Zone promotion this Monday.

This week’s King of the End Zone promo will award another massive $2 million in bonus bets. If you opt in to the token and place a qualifying singles bet of at least $5 in the TD Scorers market, and the player selected scores the longest touchdown of the night, you win a share of the $2 million in bonus bets.

This season, DraftKings has had a King of the End Zone contest each week of the season. Here’s a rundown of the winners so far:

Who will add their name to that list this week, and how much can you win in bonus bets? Let’s run down some of the top plays for Week 8’s Monday Night Football version of DraftKings King of the End Zone.

King of the End Zone — What You Need to Know

The rules of the promotion are pretty simple. After opting in, bettors will receive a token to place on a singles bet with a $5 minimum in the “TD Scorers” market. If the player with the token scores the longest touchdown of the game, you will win a share of $2 million in bonus bets. The fewer people who have their token on that player, the larger the payout will be, so it’s important to balance out the popularity of the pick with the likelihood of it hitting. Taking a longer shot could land a massive payout, while picking a more obvious choice has a better chance of winning, even if the bonus bet payout is smaller.

Passing touchdowns are ineligible for this promotion, so if you want to pick Caleb Williams — for example — he’ll have to run it in himself for the longest score rather than pass for the touchdown. Despite not being an individual player, D/ST is eligible to become King of the End Zone if the longest touchdown comes on a defensive or special teams play.

King of the End Zone Preview & Picks | Monday, Nov. 2

Players with the shortest odds to score a TD:

  • D’Andre Swift (-115)
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba (-110)
  • Zach Charbonnet (+130)
  • Colston Loveland (+215)
  • Luther Burden III (+240)

King of the End Zone Picks for Monday, Nov. 2:

When making King of the End Zone picks, it’s important to consider players who are not only likely to score a touchdown but are also likely to score the longest touchdown of the game. Multiple touchdowns could be scored in the game, but longer touchdowns have a better chance of claiming the King of the End Zone win. It’s also important to balance the popularity of the player for the King of the End Zone tokens as well, since a user’s share of bonus bets is tied to how popular their pick was.

These three picks are my favorite balance of likelihood to score, potential to score a long touchdown, and not too much popularity.

1. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (-110 Anytime TD)

Smith-Njigba won the very first King of the End Zone contest in the season opener, and he’ll have a chance to become the first two-time King of the End Zone winner of the season. He leads all players in this matchup with eight total touchdowns on the season and is a clear focal point in the Seahawks’ offense.

JSN has the highest target share in the entire NFL, with 36.8% of the Seahawks’ targets in his seven games this season. He has averaged over 11 targets per game and has had at least eight catches in five of his seven games. Last week against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, Smith-Njigba caught this 28-yard score in the second quarter.

JSN has scored a touchdown in five of his seven games this season, and he has the second-shortest odds to score again on Monday night. His touchdowns also usually tend to be long ones, making him a very strong option for this Monday’s King of the End Zone contest. The only real argument against him is that he will likely be a popular play, minimizing the potential payout if he does claim the crown.

2. D’Andre Swift (-115 Anytime TD)

If you think the Bears can keep JSN out of the end zone or that his touchdowns will be short, Swift is a strong alternative option. With Kyle Monangai (toe/thumb) out again this week, Swift will likely carry most of the workload in the backfield for the Bears. He has scored four touchdowns in his last three games while Monangai has been sidelined.

Most of Swift’s touchdowns have been relatively short, though, all coming from within five yards except for this 28-yard run against the Panthers in Week 1.

The Seahawks have allowed six RB touchdowns in their last five games, and since he’ll be getting most of the work, Swift has a strong possibility of scoring a touchdown on Monday. The downside with using him as a pivot is that his touchdowns tend to be shorter scores, and he could be beaten by a big play from a pass-catcher.

3. A.J. Barner (+250 Anytime TD)

The Bears have allowed three tight end touchdowns in the last two games, and Barner has been in a larger role the last few weeks with Elijah Arroyo (shoulder) on IR and out for the season. Barner finished second on the team in both receptions and receiving yards last week, hauling in four catches for 42 yards.

Barner has at least three catches and at least four targets in three straight games and in four of his last five. While Barner hasn’t had a receiving touchdown yet this season, his increasing targets and favorable matchup make him a viable option to consider if you want an option aside from the two main touchdown-scorers for each team this season. He’ll likely have much fewer tokens on him, creating a bigger payout if he does end up winning King of the End Zone honors.
