SF Kevin Durant, Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks, $7,500
Even at the age of 38, and with Fred VanVleet ($5,500) back in the picture, Kevin Durant is still being asked to carry a huge offensive weight for the Rockets. Through four games in 2025-26, the forward is averaging 35.3 minutes per contest and producing 23.5 points per start. Things are only going to get more demanding on Wednesday, though, as Houston has ruled out Alperen Sengun (back) due to injury. We’re dealing with small samples here, but in 2026-27, Durant has seen his usage rate climb to 31.1% with Sengun off the floor. Durant is also posting a triple-double per 100 possessions in this scenario, with averages of 33.3 points, 11.7 assists and 10.0 rebounds. In a matchup with a Bucks squad operating at the league’s second-highest pace (107.0), Durant should have no shortage of opportunity to rack up counting stats.
PG LaMelo Ball, Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Golden State Warriors, $7,700
With Anthony Edwards (knee) suddenly expected to miss two months of playing time, LaMelo Ball will be thrust into the role of No. 1 offensive option in Minnesota. It’s a situation he was often in back in Charlotte, and those occasions tended to come with a price tag that was well over $9,000. I’m sure we’ll get there eventually, but in the meantime, you have to take advantage of the savings. With Edwards off the floor so far this season, Ball’s seen his usage rate jump to a massive 34.2% and he’s averaged a robust 1.22 FPTS per minute. Also, while he’s on the heels of a terrible showing against the Cavaliers, the Warriors won’t prove to be as much of a challenge. Golden State owns the NBA’s third-worst defensive rating (121.1) and it’s surrendering the second-most FPTS per contest to opposing point guards.
PG/SG Anthony Black, Orlando Magic at Toronto Raptors, $5,900
This is a crucial season for Black, who was not signed to a rookie-scale extension by the Magic before last week’s deadline. That’s despite the fact that the former sixth-overall pick took huge strides in 2025-26, averaging a career-best 15.0 points per contest, and often filling into the starting lineup for Jalen Suggs (knee). Well guess what? Suggs is injured again. So is Paolo Banchero (ankle). That should open up a ton of usage for Franz Wagner ($8,300), Desmond Bane ($6,800) and Black, who made his season debut in Sunday’s victory over the Knicks. In only 26.0 minutes of action, Black finished with 18 points, five assists, two steals and 35.8 FPTS. Just imagine what he could do in 30-plus minutes. That’s quite the ceiling — even in a poor matchup versus a great Toronto defense.
