Mike Evans and the San Francisco 49ers will face off with the Washington Commanders tonight to close down the Week 6 NFL slate in a Monday Night Football matchup.
San Francisco is off to an undefeated 5-0 start to the season and has looked like one of the best teams in football. Evans has proven he still has more in the tank in his first season with the new organization, and will look to build off this in the Week 6 finale tonight.
The 49ers enter as 7.5-point home favorites with -395 Moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Commanders hold +310 odds of getting the outright win, with the game total set at O/U 51.5 points.
There are plenty of ways to get involved. Check out the game preview and more on DraftKings Network. For now, here’s my top Mike Evans prop bet for Monday Night Football.
Mike Evans Best Receiving Yards Pick vs. Cowboys
Mike Evans Over 63.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
It should first be noted that Mike Evans is officially listed as questionable for tonight’s matchup. The future Hall of Famer has suited up for all five games this season, but has carried a questionable tag in nearly each matchup. Evans suffered a rib injury in Week 3 and is also battling Achilles soreness. Evans was listed as a non-participant in practice, but was spotted working out on the side. There is optimism he will be able to suit up tonight and is officially considered a game-time decision.
The nagging injuries have not slowed down Evans’ production to any extent so far this season. Through his opening five games with San Francisco, the 6-foot-5 wideout has pulled in 24 of his 24 targets for 326 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He is coming off his strongest performance of the season, pulling in seven receptions on 10 targets for 113 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks last week.
That performance came against a Seattle defense that has presented a difficult matchup for opposing passing attacks this season. Seattle currently leads the NFL with the fewest total yards allowed through the air and ranks first in net yards per pass attempt. San Francisco faces a much more favorable matchup against Washington tonight. The Commanders enter this matchup ranked dead last in points allowed, 23rd in total yards conceded, and 29th in passing yards allowed.
Christian McCaffrey has not quite performed to his sky-high standard in the early parts of the season, and the 49ers have adjusted by embracing more of a pass-first identity. Brock Purdy has answered the call, and Evans has been a major part of this effort. He leads the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards so far this season, proving to have plenty left in the tank in his age-33 campaign. Evans has also had historic success against this Commanders franchise. He has faced off with Washington five times in his career, recording 25 receptions for 547 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
The six-time Pro-Bowler has recorded over 63.5 receiving yards in back-to-back weeks, and this will be the most favorable matchup he has faced. Assuming he is able to take the field, expect Evans to be up to his usual standard of production and see plenty of involvement in the offense. He has not seen a regression in his production as these injuries have started to pop up, so expect this to continue tonight with the favorable matchup in mind.
If you are nervous about Evans’ injury status, this also could be a great chance to take advantage of DraftKings’ Early Exit protection. Check out the full details and qualifications here.
