Bhayshul Tuten has given fantasy football managers plenty to think about as he heads into his Week 7 bye.
The second-year RB is coming off the best fantasy game of his career, after getting immersed in Jacksonville’s dangerous passing attack and scoring two receiving touchdowns. Tuten finished with 16 touches — 12 carries and four catches — for 87 total yards from scrimmage and 24.7 fantasy points (PPR) in the Jaguars’ 34–31 loss to the Houston Texans in London.
Already an RB on the rise, how does Tuten’s Week 6 receiving breakout impact his fantasy value for the rest of the season?
Bhayshul Tuten ROS Fantasy Football Outlook after Week 6
Bhayshul Tuten entered his sophomore season with lofty expectations after Travis Etienne packed his bags for New Orleans. But after Week 6, his ceiling seems even higher than many expected.
The former Virginia Tech standout, 23, has handled 94 carries for 388 yards (4.1 YPC) and two rushing touchdowns so far this season. He’s currently the RB14 in PPR scoring with 14.7 fantasy points per game, trailing behind 49ers star Christian McCaffrey. Tuten may have been even higher on the list if not for multiple rushing touchdowns being nullified by penalties, including two in Week 4 and another in Week 6.
Still, Tuten’s fantasy stock has gone to the moon after playing a starring role in Jacksonville’s potent passing game, led by Trevor Lawrence and his tied-for-NFL-best 14 passing touchdowns. Even in a crowded pass-catching room headlined by Parker Washington, Tuten ranks fourth on the Jaguars with 13 catches and 126 receiving yards — both more than Brian Thomas Jr.
Tuten’s outlook is even brighter after Jacksonville’s Week 7 bye. According to Tankathon, the Jaguars have the NFL’s easiest remaining strength of schedule. They have multiple matchups with the Titans and the Colts, and their “toughest” remaining opponents include the Ravens, the Giants, and the Bears. Oh my.
Through six weeks, Tuten should already be viewed as a fringe RB1 in most season-long leagues. But with his emerging role in the passing game and a cakewalk of a remaining schedule, he has a clear runway to become one of the most valuable players at his position.
