Week 6 is almost over, and it ends with Monday Night Football as the Washington Commanders take on the San Francisco 49ers. Rachaad White should see his role increase tonight in the absence of the Commanders’ typical starting halfback, but what kind of night is the veteran running back in for against a tough defensive matchup?

Here are the best Rachaad White prop bets for Commanders vs. 49ers on Monday Night Football in Week 6.

Best Rachaad White prop bet for Commanders vs. 49ers

Rachaad White is no stranger to a sizable workload. The veteran was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ primary option for a couple of years during the early portions of his career, but he wasn’t particularly effective with his touches. He has a career average of 3.9 YPC and never reached 1,000 rushing yards even once, though he came close to it back in 2023 with 990 yards on the ground. He’s long-removed from that campaign, though. This year, White has appeared in four games with 118 rushing yards, good for 4.1 YPC. While that efficiency mark isn’t too shabby, he’s also low in terms of success rate (44.8%) and explosive-run rate (7.4%), so his upside as a runner has seemingly been capped.

However, what White does do well is catch the ball. He has 215 receptions across 71 career games and has never finished a season with fewer than 40 grabs. His receiving ability is exactly what we want to target tonight when it comes to his prop bets, especially in this matchup.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, White’s player prop bet lines are set at O/U 12.5 rush attempts, 45.5 rushing yards, 2.5 receptions and 14.5 receiving yards. He holds +110 odds for an anytime touchdown, third shortest of any player in this game. The Commanders are also a 7.5-point underdog on the road with the total set at 51.5 combined points.

Jacory Crosket-Merritt was ruled out for tonight’s contest earlier in the week due to injury, which has White positioned to work as the primary halfback ahead of Austin Ekeler, who’s appeared in just two games this season and is 31 years old while coming off a serious injury suffered last year. There isn’t much real competition in this backfield for touches, which should allow White to see plenty of opportunities here.

Washington may not run the ball all that much given the team’s status as a touchdown underdog in a very difficult matchup. The opposing 49ers haven’t lost a game yet and rank ninth in EPA/rush allowed while giving up just 97.6 rushing yards per game, 11th fewest in the NFL. This is a very solid defense that should be able to stifle White as a runner, especially since he’s never been a particularly effective talent in that area of the game. However, he should handily clear 2.5 receptions in this spot. The Commanders are likely to play from behind, leading to higher passing volume than usual. White excels as a receiving back and should be on the field plenty, absorbing at least a couple of checkdowns.

Some extra insurance that may make this line worth taking is that the Niners have allowed 36 receptions to halfbacks, more than any other team in the NFL. Not only have they allowed lots of receptions to backfield players, but they’ve also conceded a 24.1% target market share to running backs, which is 2.8% higher than the next-closest team. San Francisco is taking away deep passes and forcing opposing quarterbacks to throw short, which should bode nicely for White and this over.

Best Bet: Rachaad White over 2.5 receptions (+105)
