Drew finally explained why he kept Devens: he asked both Icons if they’d throw Part 1 of the final HOH to him, and Devens was the one willing to deal.
That answer is either the smartest bargain of Drew’s season or the decision that hands Devens $750,000. Taylor has already made up her mind — she thinks Drew signed himself up for a second-place finish. Devens got emotional Sunday thinking about his family and how close he’s come on Survivor without winning, and he believes this is finally the one. Thursday’s live, 90-minute finale settles all of it: the winners of all three parts of the final HOH, the last eviction and the jury vote that decides the winner of Big Brother Season 28.
Here’s everything to know about tonight’s finale, including the air time, how to watch and what to expect as Devens, Drew and Taylor make their final push for the grand prize.
What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?
Sunday’s penultimate episode was delayed by the NFL and the VMAs, and when it finally aired at 10:15 p.m. ET, it was mostly a clip show. The only new competition footage was the start of Part 1 of the final HOH.
What was new came in the aftermath of Dee’s eviction. Drew explained that before casting his vote, he asked both Devens and Dee whether they would throw Part 1 of the final HOH to him if the opportunity presented itself. Devens was more willing to compromise, so Devens went to the Final Three.
Devens was thrilled. Taylor was not. She doesn’t see the vision, and she thinks Drew just signed himself up for second place — something she said she would never do to herself. Devens, meanwhile, got emotional about his family and his history of coming up short on Survivor. He says he truly believes this is where he takes home the grand prize and changes his family’s life.
The jury house got an update, and it was all fun and games until Melody walked through the door. Angela started trouble, and it devolved into Angela calling Melody a coaster and telling her to shut up. LaLa got in the middle of it as well, and Melody fired back that she made the Top 5 and LaLa didn’t. Once things calmed down, Yash reminded the jury that their job is to analyze everyone’s game without taking it personally.
The episode closed with the start of Part 1 of the final HOH — a log rolling competition sending the houseguests back to 1752 to help Ben Franklin discover electricity. The Final Three stand on a spinning log holding a kite spool while risking an electric jolt. Last player standing wins Part 1, and the two losers square off in Part 2.

What to expect in the Big Brother Season 28 Finale
The final HOH — and the deal behind it
Sunday showed us the start of the log roll. Thursday shows us how it ends, along with HOH Parts 2 and 3. Live Feed watchers already know the results of the first two parts, but the broadcast audience will find out on finale night.
The winner of Part 3 becomes the final Head of Household and chooses who sits next to them in the Final Two. That choice is the entire season in one decision.
Drew’s explanation adds a layer to Part 1. He kept Devens because Devens was more open to throwing Part 1 his way. Whether that happened — and whether it helped Drew — is the first thing finale night will answer. It also puts Devens in a tricky spot. Throwing Part 1 would mean going to Part 2 against Taylor, the player who just told us she’d never take a finalist she can’t beat.
Devens — one win from the favorite’s seat
Our Big Brother analyst Andy Silva’s predictions put it plainly: if Devens makes it to the Final Two, he is winning. He’s won competitions consistently, played a decent enough social game and seems to have the respect of most jury members. The other houseguests have seen him as the most dangerous player in the game for weeks.
That’s also his problem. Both Drew and Taylor believe they lose to him. Drew said it to Devens’ face last week. Taylor said Sunday that bringing Devens to the end is a second-place move. Neither one should want to sit next to him on Thursday.
His saving grace is that Devens has gotten stronger in competitions as the season has gone on, and he’s probably the best comp performer remaining. If he wins his way to the final HOH, nobody has to make the choice for him. He also has plenty to play for — Sunday’s episode showed how badly he wants to finally close the deal after falling short on Survivor.
Drew’s $750,000 move
Drew didn’t cut Devens at Final Four. He still has one more chance.
The predictions argue the key for Drew is whether he gets to be the one who says he cut Devens. The “Daddy Devens and baby boy Drew” label is real, and keeping Devens over Dee only reinforced it. If Drew wins the final HOH and sends Devens to jury, he can walk into the Final Two telling the jury he planned to make that move at Final Three all along, even if he loves his “dad” personally. That may be a $750,000 move.
Sunday’s explanation helps him, too. Drew now has a strategic reason for keeping Devens beyond loyalty — he wanted the better odds in Part 1. That’s a story a jury can respect, as long as Drew finishes it.
Drew’s resume is stronger than his reputation. He has an HOH win, veto wins for several weeks running and Blockbuster wins. He survived multiple weeks where he would have gone home if he hadn’t won. The predictions compare him to Vince from Big Brother 27: Drew did a lot this season, but he burned a lot of people doing it, including his closest allies.
Taylor’s shot
Taylor already told us how she would play Part 3. She thinks taking Devens to the end is signing up for second place, and she said she would never do that to herself. If Taylor wins the final HOH, Devens is in serious trouble.
That’s her best-case scenario. The predictions lay it out: Taylor wins Part 3, takes credit for both the comp win and cutting Devens, and faces Drew in the Final Two. She’d have LaLa advocating for her, could pick up Yash and Barrett and there is a chance for LaLa to bring Angela along, too. Based on comp performance, it’s the least likely outcome, but it would make for a very close vote.
Her biggest obstacle is perception. Zingbot and BB Comics pushed the idea that all Taylor did was sleep in her pod, and Dee and Devens have discounted her game on the live feeds. The predictions call that largely unfair. Taylor had major influence during LaLa’s and Yash’s HOH reigns, and her HOH win last Thursday let her say she brought herself to the Final Three.
The jury
LaTrice, Angela, Barrett, Yash, Melody and Dee are already waiting, and the houseguest who doesn’t make the Final Two will join them.
If it’s Drew vs. Taylor, the predictions have Drew with Devens, Dee, Angela and Melody — enough to win (assuming Angela can stomach voting the same way as Melody following their jury house blowup). There’s also a chance Drew picks up Yash, who admitted he’d still consider giving Drew the win despite not respecting his game, and Barrett, who was close to Drew for most of the season. If Devens is sitting in the Final Two, the predictions say he’s the winner no matter who is next to him.
The jury house itself hasn’t been quiet. Angela and Melody’s blowup showed there’s real friction among the jurors. Yash’s reminder to judge the games without taking it personally may matter most for Drew, the finalist who burned the most people on his way to the end.
