Big Brother Season 28 Predictions: Who Will Win?

The Final 3 is set, and the race for the $750,000 grand prize is officially entering the final lap. Dee’s eviction leaves Devens, Drew and Taylor standing — three players with very different paths to the end, but only one can call themselves the winner of Big Brother Season 28.

Devens enters the final stretch as the man to beat, but Drew and Taylor still have one massive move left to make: cut him before he reaches Final 2. Here’s how I rank the three remaining houseguests heading into the final episodes.

Who Will Win Big Brother Season 28?

1. Devens

Here’s the bottom line: If Devens makes it to Final 2, he is winning. It’s that simple.

Love or hate the advantages the Icons were given this season, Devens has played one of the best games in the house. He has consistently won competitions, played a decent enough social game, and seemingly has the respect of most jury members. Even more than Dee, the other houseguests have consistently seen Devens as the most dangerous player in the game and the likely winner. That’s a good sign when it comes to jury.

There is a danger in that first sentence above — it’s likely that Taylor and Drew don’t want to bring Devens with them to Final 2. Not only do both players believe they will lose to Devens, but Drew knows he needs to cut Devens to help his narrative with the jury. But, if there is a saving grace, it’s that Devens has seemingly gotten stronger at comps as the season goes along and is probably the best comp performer remaining.

I wouldn’t have a problem with any of the Final 3 winning it all, but to me Devens would feel like the most worthy winner of the season. He’s been near the top of my power rankings all season, and short of a few mistakes here and there his resume is the most impressive remaining (a Final 2 between Dee and Devens would have been very interesting). To take it one step further, I think an argument could be made that Devens is actually a better Big Brother player than he is a Survivor player. So kudos to him for entering a new game and finding a way to not only survive, but thrive.

2. Drew

After Devens, it gets a little more murky. There are pros and cons to the resumes for both Drew and Taylor, but I think based on the jury makeup, I have to give the edge to Drew.

Drew doesn’t have a bad resume — he’s got an HOH win, Veto wins for several weeks running and Blockbuster wins. Drew has been something of a cockroach in this game, surviving multiple weeks where if he didn’t comp out, he would have been gone. There is a level of begrudging respect there.

The issue will be perception. I think Drew has a number of similarities with Vince from Big Brother 27 — Drew did A LOT this season, but in doing so he burned a lot of people. Including his own closest allies. Moreover, he loses respect from some of the jury members for his devotion to the Icons. We know Yash, in particular, has been banging this drum for weeks.

That said, if it comes down to Drew vs. Taylor, I think Drew would have:

• Devens
• Dee
• Angela
• Melody

That right there is enough. And there is still a chance that Drew could unbelievably get Yash, who despite not respecting Drew’s game admitted on Thursday night he would still consider giving Drew the win. Even if LaLa is able to help Taylor pick off Angela, I think there’s also a chance Drew could get Barrett’s vote, considering how close they were for most of the season.

I think the key will be whether or not Drew gets to be the one to say he cut Devens. The stigma of Daddy Devens and baby boy Drew is real, and may only be further accentuated by Drew’s decision to cut Dee and keep Devens at Final 4. It would likely go a long way toward jury management and perception if Drew is able to go in saying he planned to cut Devens at Final 3 all along, even if personally he loves his “dad.” It may be a $750,000 move if he can make it.

3. Taylor

I said in last week’s Power Rankings that there has been more to Taylor’s resume than meets the eye. And Taylor’s run to the Final 3 has only bolstered her resume.

She was very close to LaLa and Yash, and exhibiting major influence in both their HOH reigns. She had to deal with some bad luck and some of the advantages granted to the Icons, but she survived long enough to get to Final 4 and earn a huge HOH win which allows her to say that she controlled her own destiny and brought herself to Final 3 rather than being dragged there by another player.

Once again, I think perception is Taylor’s biggest issue, and some of that is outside her control. Unfortunately for her, through both Zingbot and BB Comics, production only furthered the perception that all Taylor did is sleep in her pod. I think that’s largely unfair, but it’s something that was put in both the viewers’ and houseguests’ minds. We’ve already seen Dee and Devens discount her game on the live feeds, and even Yash seems like he could be swayed to vote against her.

In a best case scenario, I think Taylor definitely has LaLa advocating for her. Say she’s able to win HOH Part 3 and choose who goes to Final 2 with her, not only does she get credit for a comp win but she’ll also have the opportunity to take credit for cutting Devens, which could be a blow for Drew. In that scenario, perhaps she gets LaLa, Yash and Barrett, with the potential for LaLa to bring Angela along with her. Even if, based on comp performance to date, this seems like the least likely outcome, it still is possible and would lead to a very close vote against Drew.

I don’t think Taylor has the best odds to win, but it’s not out of the question that she could. And that means we should have an exciting final two episodes of a solid Season 28 of Big Brother.
