Big Brother Live Feed Spoilers: Thursday Recap from Season 28 Week 2

Thursday’s eviction episode settled Week 2 with Rome becoming the second evictee of the season (read my recap here), but the real game began once the live show ended.

A new Head of Household was crowned, alliances immediately began repositioning themselves and Drew may have quietly become the most influential player in the house.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 2 Results

Last Sunday’s episode began Week 2 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. The Crossovers dominated Week 1, and it looks like they’re only going to get more powerful, with yet another member of that alliance in the HOH room this week. That’s right, Rick Devens won the HOH competition, keeping the combined alliance of the Crossovers and the Red Corner — now known together as the Toolshed — firmly at the top of the game.

That was then followed up by Devens winning the Power of Veto as well. With his head spinning, Devens used the veto on Lyric and backdoored Rome, following through on the plan he’d been discussing all week. Devens said the veto choice of Lyric over Melody came down to the fact he felt he could trust Lyric more.

The move gave the alliance the matchup it wanted, but whether Rome could save himself one more time would be decided live on Thursday.

Pinning down a new HOH

After the eviction vote, the big news of the night was the Week 3 HOH competition. It was reportedly a booth competition dubbed Wrestlegasm ’85 and featured a cameo by Big Brother veteran/professional wrestler Jessie Godderz.

In the end, Kamu became the third member of the Toolshed alliance to win HOH this season, taking home the win.

Kamu immediately went to work, initially suggesting he would nominate Jason, Mallory and LaLa. However, after a discussion with Drew it looks like those plans were subject to change, which could cause an issue with Lyric, who he had literally just promised safety.

After revealing the new plan to Devens, who was on board to give Jason “the Rome treatment,” he shoots down a plan from Haley to put Taylor on the block next to her ally LaLa. He suggests to Haley that he’s OK waiting for Haley to win an HOH to do that.

Based on all evidence available, it appears like Drew is going to have outsize influence this week thanks to his working relationship with Kamu, which probably won’t sit well with Angela despite her pledged allegiance to Kamu.

Lyric singing a different tune

As noted above, Lyric and Rome’s epic, two-week love story came to an end (for now?) with the latter being evicted. Despite love bombing each other for the better part of two weeks, Lyric did not cast the lone vote to keep Rome in the house and made sure that everyone knew that fact.

On his way out of the house, Rome publicly declared his love for Lyric in front of all the houseguests. Despite the gesture, Lyric attempted to downplay their romance, saying she wasn’t ready to tell him she loved him back (even though she did multiple times) and telling Chuk that him doing that put her in a tough position.

Lyric all of a sudden spent a good portion of the night with Chuk, who she used to help sell her fake breakup with Rome, and may have actually hurt herself with Kamu, who says he would hope that if he were Rome that Lyric would at least throw him a sympathy vote. Yet, all of that doesn’t negate Lyric going through the stages of grief at Rome’s exit. Maybe these two crazy kids are destined to write the end of their love story outside of Big Brother‘s watchful eye.

Even amid her grief at Rome’s departure, Lyric is still able to play Yash into giving up whatever information he knows.

With Jason about to get “the Rome treatment,” I feel like this is gonna be a long week for the Drag Race vet even if Angela is telling him to just be happy to still be in the house.

And finally, after a week stuck in an egg costume, Angela, the Hard-Boiled Detective, is finally off the case.
