Week 2 of Big Brother Season 28 began immediately after Ashley became the first houseguest evicted this summer, leaving 16 players left in the game.
The big story of Week 1 was the emergence of the Crossovers alliance — headlined by the three returning reality icons Dee, Devens and Angela — and how it seized power and for the most part looked good doing it.
Can the Crossovers keep control of the house for another week, or will someone finally take a shot at the game’s most powerful early alliance? And with tensions already rising, who will light the fuse on Week 2? Read below to find out.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 2 Results
Sunday’s episode began Week 2 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. The Crossovers dominated Week 1, and it looks like they’re only going to get more powerful, with yet another member of that alliance in the HOH room this week. That’s right, Rick Devens won the HOH competition, keeping the combined alliance of the Crossovers and the Red Corner — now known together as the Toolshed — firmly at the top of the game.

Big Brother Season 28 Episode 6 recap
Achy Breaky HOH
Sides are starting to be drawn in the house, with Melody still tripped up from Ashley naming all the houseguests who were planning to save her last week before she put her foot in her mouth and punched her ticket out the front door. Meanwhile, Angela wants to go after Rome and prevent him from gaining power. So, this HOH competition has plenty of stakes.
The houseguests are sent back to Nashville on June 30, 1992, for a country-fied HOH comp. The houseguests will pair up, with new rules in each round, in a game where they have to slide their disc on the dance floor to score points. As there is an odd number of houseguests playing, one houseguest will not get to play round 1 and it turn out that will be Devens. But it actually turns into an advantage, as he just gets to advance without playing. Notably, Rome gets eliminated early and is stuck on the sidelines.
Haley and Devens end up in the final round battling for HOH and the pair come to an agreement to allow her to take the competition. Devens wants to avoid making it clear he took a dive, however, and puts up a 35. Unfortunately for Haley, she only scores a 27 and Devens gets a title he really didn’t even want.
Go Big or Go Home
Devens admits he didn’t want the HOH crown, but now that he’ here he is here to play. However, that said, he still sees value in protecting his relationship with Rome, as he sees Rome as being HOH sooner or later. So he has a conversation with Rome to see how they can scratch each others’ backs. Initially, Rome overreaches a bit, looking to protect ALL his allies. However, when push comes to shove, he really cares most about protecting Lyric and Jason. Devens thinks he can work with this.
However, when he tells Dee this, she seems a little underwelmed by his plan to potentially nominate Melody, Mallory and LaLa. When Dee brings this back to Barrett and Angela, the BB26 veteran has other ideas. She wants to really go after ROME and thinks she can appeal to Devens’ showman nature she’s seen play out on Survivor. Sure enough, after a confab in the most secret, protected spot in the HOH room and gets him all in on the idea of blowing things up and backdooring Rome.
Before going forward, Devens brings together all the members of the Red Corner and the Crossovers, which doesn’t go unnoticed by the Rome side of the house. Rome wants to stir things up, but Lyric advises him against it. Jason is feeling a little scared seeing all those people, including the addition of Barrett, meeting in the HOH room at 4:30 in the morning. And he should, as Devens outlines his plan — he’s going to put up Lyric, Jason and Melody. And the kicker? If someone comes off, Rome goes up. The combined Red Corner and Crossovers — now known as the Toolshed — have the numbers and are ready to go to war.
Amidst the planning of the demise of the Roman empire, Rome rings the HOH doorbell… and is promptly ignored. He calls them out as the meeting adjourned and promises to bring war if the other side of the house comes after his people. Angela ominously tells him to sleep well, because a big day is coming the following day.
Not so egg-celent adventure
Angela becomes the first houseguest sent to the BB Time Capsule, which will either grant her a power if she wins or a punishment if she loses. Angela has to sit a spinning chair and press a button at the exact right moment the screen lights up on a power to win … or suffer a punishment if she chooses poorly.
Of course, she lands on a punishment and gets Hard-boiled Detective, the punishment Vince suffered through last season. Angela will have to wear this egg detective costume for seven days. Jason, for one, isn’t feeling egg-cellent, as he had hoped his Drag Race fans would turn out for him, but perhaps America doesn’t love him after all. We’ll have to wait and see.
Fall of the Roman Empire
Rome confronts Devens about being ignored the night before and wants to make sure the plan they put together previously is still in place. In that conversation, Devens takes what Rome is saying as a threat, which is not how he thinks someone should talk to the active HOH. That closes the conversation and Devens warns Rome that things are about to get a little dicey for him.
Devens is ready to use his nomination speech to send a message. He wants to kick the hornet’s nest, bringing his allies closer to him and sending Rome’s scattering. He nominates Melody, Lyric and Jason, directly targeting the people Rome wanted to keep safe the most. Devens feels those three didn’t talk strategy with him until he won HOH and reveals the names Rome wanted to protect and revealing he was OK letting Melody and LaLa hit the block.
The nominations aren’t the end of the drama, but rather just the beginning as Jason starts to try and clap back, claiming this is Angela’s HOH. She’s not having it, however, calling him a messy boy. It’s time for a house meeting because this isn’t over. Except … it is for us. The episode ends with a tease of the house ready to crack in an egg-splosive fight to come ahead of a key Power of Veto competition. Buckle up, everybody.

DEVENS won HOH on Sunday, making it two weeks in a row that a member of the Crossovers/Toolshed alliance took control of the house.
Who was nominated for eviction this week?
As head of household, Devens nominated JASON, MELODY and LYRIC for eviction this week. If any of the three win the veto competition, or another player wins and choose to use the power of veto on them, Devens will have to select another houseguest as a replacement nominee.
