What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?
Ashley became the first houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house by a unanimous vote of 14-0. Yash saved himself in the BB Blockbuster competition, leaving Ashley and Taylor on the block, where Ashley’s lack of alliances and a costly mistake — telling people she had the votes and accidentally revealing potential sides in the house— turned the entire cast against her.
Before the episode ended, Julie Chen Moonves revealed a new twist: the BB Time Capsule. For the next six weeks, America will vote to secretly send one houseguest into the BB Time Capsule, where they’ll play a game with a chance to win a power or receive a punishment.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight
A wide-open HOH competition
Dee can’t compete for Head of Household this week as the outgoing HOH, which means the Crossovers lose their strongest competitor. That leaves Devens, Angela, Barrett and Drew to carry the flag for the alliance that ran Week 1. The question is whether the Rome-Jason-LaTrice contingent, or the technically-Crossover aligned but also sort of isolated Red Corner members — can step up and flip the power dynamics.
If someone outside the Crossovers wins HOH, things could get very interesting very quickly. Jason has been loud about wanting Devens out. Rome’s Mama’s Angels group has numbers growing. And Yash, fresh off the block with a grudge against Dee, is a wild card who could swing in any direction.
The Crossovers’ cracks
The Crossovers dominated Week 1. Five members, two overlapping alliances, information flowing like a river back to the core group. On paper, they’re in a dream position. In practice, there are hairline fractures forming.
Angela’s paranoia is creeping back. She’s already eyeing Drew with suspicion, and Barrett and Dee’s closeness on the live feeds is drawing attention from people both inside and outside the alliance. Drew is in roughly seven different alliances at this point — the Crossovers, the Court Jesters with Jason and Melody, the Four Seasons with Rome, Lyric and Melody, the Inbetweeners with Barrett and Melody, plus a side deal with Melody herself. That’s a LOT of plates to keep spinning for a 22-year-old first-time player. If even one of those connections compares notes with another, Drew’s entire web could unravel.
Jason’s ticking time bomb
Jason spent Week 1 loudly plotting against the reality icons, bragging about emotionally manipulating Angela and openly naming Devens as a backdoor target. The fatal flaw in this plan? He said all of it in front of Drew, who ran every word back to the Crossovers. Angela already knows. Devens already knows. And Jason has no idea.
The only thing that saved Jason in Week 1 is timing — Dee already had her nominees locked in, and he wasn’t one of them. She said it herself: he’s lucky he was safe that week, or he’d have looked good on the block. Angela is hurt and ready to use what she knows. If a Crossover member wins HOH on Sunday, Jason could very well find himself as a target. And if someone outside the Crossovers wins, he might push even harder on the anti-icon play — not knowing the icons are already two steps ahead of him.
The BB Time Capsule
America’s vote for the first BB Time Capsule recipient should land sometime before Sunday’s episode. This is the kind of twist that can completely scramble power dynamics — a new power in the wrong hands changes the entire calculus for nominations and the veto. The wild card here is that America’s choice might not align with the house’s power structure. If a fan favorite like LaTrice or a perceived underdog like Yash gets sent in, and comes out with a power, the Crossovers’ control could face its first real test.
And here’s what makes the Time Capsule particularly devious: the notification is secret, and so is the outcome. The rest of the house won’t know whether that person won a power or took a punishment. That uncertainty alone changes behavior. Houseguests will be playing around a ghost — wondering who went in, what they came out with, and whether that unknown advantage is pointed at them.
Showmance watch
Rome and Lyric’s Day 2 showmance is already the worst-kept secret in the house. The live feeds have it on display and other houseguests have been witness to what’s going on between the two. And historically, Big Brother showmances that form this early become house targets within the first few weeks. Neither Rome nor Lyric has been in serious danger yet, but a new HOH who sees them as a voting pair could change that in a hurry. And the pair has to be careful not to put the showmance ahead of the game, or they could be separated against their will sooner rather than later.
Who is in the best position heading into Week 2?
Based on DraftKings Network’s most recent power rankings, the Crossovers remain in control — Dee, Devens, Drew, Barrett and Angela occupy five of the top six spots. But Dee can’t play for HOH this week, and the alliance’s dominance has an expiration date. The longer they run things unchecked, the bigger the target becomes once someone outside the group takes power.
The most dangerous position belongs to Haley, who is not well-liked in the house and has limited options beyond the Red Corner. Jason is also in trouble he doesn’t know about yet. And Yash, while he survived the block, still needs to find a home alliance-wise or risk being an easy target.
