AEW Dynamite returns this Wednesday, July 8, from Clearwater, Florida at The BayCare Sound. This edition of Dynamite will serve as the yearly Beach Break episode. It’s a stacked card that’s worth going out of your way to watch, with four matches already announced, including AEW World Champion MJF defending against Kenny Omega. A Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match will also take place with the winner receiving an AEW Women’s World Title shot against Thekla at AEW Redemption.

MJF (c) vs. Kenny Omega – AEW World Championship Match
Man, what a tough prediction to make here. One thing I think AEW has done a tremendous job with in 2026 is keeping us guessing. For as strong as a champion MJF is, I feel as if his title reign is constantly in peril and I’m unsure of the outcome in almost all his defenses. Take last week’s episode of Dynamite as a perfect example when he faced Mark Briscoe. Do I think Briscoe is going to head into All-In as the world champ? Absolutely not. But, did I think Briscoe could have stolen a victory and possible drop the title at AEW Redemption? 100%. And that’s what keeps me hooked.
This is another perfect example of being unsure of what will happen here. I do think Omega is due for one more title run. To make it even more interesting, Omega has vowed to never challenge for the AEW World Title again should he lose to MJF here. With this match taking place so close to AEW Redemption, I think anything is on the table. Because of the stipulation, I believe Omega is taking the title here. MJF is dealing with a (legitimate) knee injury and giving him time to heal for All In is likely the most important piece of the puzzle here. Then, we could see Omega vs. Will Ospreay at All-In or maybe even a triple-threat with MJF. Either way, I love the direction AEW is going with the World Title and this is just another chapter of that.
MJF (c) vs. Kenny Omega Prediction: Kenny Omega becomes the new AEW World Champion
Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher – AEW International Championship
This is the second PPV worthy match that we’re getting on free TV this week on Dynamite. Takeshita, who recently disbanded from The Don Callis Family, the man who attacked him at Double or Nothing after his victory against Kazuchika Okada. This will be the second time we’ve seen these two go one-on-one, as they did prior on an episode of AEW Rampage (R.I.P) back in 2023. Takeshita went over with the victory in a little over 10 minutes. But now, it’s fair to say Fletcher is a much, much different wrestler this time around.
This will be the fourth title defense for Takeshita, who has also done so in Ring of Honor. He’s defeated Daniel Garcia, Lee Johnson, and Ricochet in his prior title defenses. I don’t believe this is the end of his title reign yet. I also don’t believe this is the last we’ll see these two go at it. I imagine Takeshita will grab the victory here and Fletcher will try to get a rematch, possibly at AEW Redemption. Make sure to lock in for this match, it’s a show stealer in the making.

Chris Jericho vs. Tommaso Ciampa
The internet didn’t love how this feud got started. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’ve enjoyed it thus far. I very much liked the segment last week, which saw Jericho attack Ciampa backstage last week. They’ll finally meet in a match here on Dynamite, officially kicking off this feud.
It feels as if this run for Jericho is a nod to all his past gimmicks. Since his return, we’ve already seen “The List of Jericho” come up, we saw Ciampa revisit the meme of Jericho listing off all the holds he knows, which was a nod to the Jericho and Dean Malenko feud back in WCW. During all this, the talent that Jericho is facing is getting the upper hand in these feuds. I expect that to happen with Ciampa, which likely leads to a victory here.

Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match – Athena vs. Maya World
As these Casino Gauntlet matches run, we’ll know who the first two entrants are but don’t know the rest. Because of that, it’s extremely hard to predict who will win this match.
