Opening odds for Jack Della Maddalena vs. Islam Makhachev at UFC 322

Thursday night, Dana White made it official that UFC Undisputed Middleweight Champion Jack Della Maddalena will defend his title against former UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 322 on November 15. This PPV will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, the challenger is a -245 favorite while the defending champion is a +200 underdog.

Della Maddalena defeated Belal Muhammad to win the 170-pound title at UFC 315 in May. Since losing his first two fights in his MMA career, Della Maddalena has won 18 straight fights and eight in the UFC. Five of his eight victories in the UFC have come via submission or knockout. Being an underdog is nothing new for Della Maddalena, as he was +160 against Muhammad in his previous contest.

Makhachev is 27-1 and has won 15 straight fights in the UFC with 10 finishes. From October 2022 to January 2025, Makhachev reigned as the UFC Lightweight Champion, totaling five title wins. Makhachev is attempting to become the 11th fighter in UFC history to win a title in two divisions.
