All 30 MLB teams are in action today across the Sunday, Father’s Day slate. Action will be taking place all afternoon and building out to the Sunday Night Baseball matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for today’s action, 6/15/25. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage set, here are my favorite picks on the MLB slate.
Brent Rooker More Than 1.5 Total Bases
The Athletics will face the Kansas City Royals today with left-hander Noah Cameron on the mound. Today will mark just his seventh career MLB start. Cameron has been fairly successful to this point, entering with a 2-2 record, a 2.17 ERA and having struck out 25 batters across his first 37.1 innings pitched.
But Brent Rooker has been great against left-handed pitching this season. Rooker is hitting .321 with a 1.070 OPS this season and also has shone up during afternoon matchups. Across day games, he is hitting .321 with a .978 OPS and has eight home runs in 27 games. On the season overall, he is slashing .274/.345/.491 with 140 total bases in his first 72 games. Rooker has tallied 14 total bases across his past four games and has tallied more than 1.5 total bases in nine of his past 17 games. Look for him to stay hot today with an inexperienced pitcher on the mound and tally more than 1.5 total bases.
Wyatt Langford More Than 0.5 Home Runs
In his second MLB season, Wyatt Langford is showing why the organization should continue to believe in his future. He is up to 13 home runs on the season and slashing .236/.318/.441, with each of these numbers growing in recent weeks after a slow start. Langford has hit two home runs across his past five games.
He has a great chance to add to this total today as the Rangers face the White Sox with Aaron Civale on the mound. Civale requested a trade from the Brewers and was shipped to Chicago a few days ago. But the production has been a concern all season for the right-hander. He has allowed 2.05 home runs per nine innings so far this season, which is the worst mark of any pitcher on the slate. Civale has produced reverse splits this season, struggling more against right-handed hitters. As he makes his first start with his new team, expect these same struggles to show face.
Langford is seeing the ball well and has tallied 13 total bases across the past five games. With a vulnerable pitching matchup and his power numbers growing, look for the Rangers’ outfielder to put another over the fence tonight.
Cal Raleigh More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
Cal Raleigh enters today tied with Aaron Judge for the most home runs in baseball, with 26 on the season. He is slashing .263/.376/.622 with .997 OPS and has tallied 54 RBIs already this season. This ranks seventh in the MLB.
The Mariners will face off with the Cleveland Guardians today with Luis Ortiz on the mound. Across his first 69.2 innings pitched, he is posting a 4.26 ERA with nine home runs allowed this season. Ortiz has especially struggled against left-handed hitters in his career, and seven of his nine home runs allowed this season have come against this side of the plate. Raleigh is a switch-hitter, but he has impressive power on either side of the plate and has tallied 18 of his 26 home runs when hitting on the left side of the plate and facing right-handed pitching. These two have faced off just three times in their careers thus far, but Raleigh has one home run against Ortiz already.
The Mariners’ star has looked nearly unstoppable this season. To be a bit safer, I am taking more than 0.5 RBIs tallied, but Raleigh could very easily put one over the fence himself to reach this total.
Luis Ortiz More Than 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed
To take it a step further, I am backing Luis Ortiz to allow more than 2.5 earned runs in today’s matchup. He has started 13 games this season and holds a 3-7 overall record. The Guardians are 5-8 when Ortiz has started this season. He last pitched on June 9 when he threw 4.2 innings against the Reds and allowed four earned runs and nine hits. Ortiz allowed more than 2.5 earned runs in six of his 13 starts while being held to 6.0 or fewer innings pitched in all but one start.
The Mariners have a respectable offense that ranks in the middle of the pack or better in just about every offensive metric. They have put 11 runs on the board across the past two games in this series. In addition, Ortiz is giving up a 5.40 ERA when pitching on the road and a 6.10 ERA in day starts this season. There have been just 17 at-bats between current members of the Mariners and Ortiz in their careers, but Seattle is slashing .353/.421/.765 with a 1.186 OPS in these matchups. Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez have each hit a home run off Ortiz despite facing him just six combined times. Expect the Mariners’ bats to come alive today, and don’t be surprised if there is an inning in which the Guardians’ starter fully unravels. One way or another, count on Ortiz allowing more than 2.5 earned runs for the seventh time this season.
Kyle Harrison More Than 4.5 Strikeouts
In the final matchup of today’s MLB slate, the Los Angeles Dodgers will host the San Francisco Giants. Kyle Harrison will get the start for the Giants today. He has pitched in just eight games so far this season, with four of them being starts. Across these opportunities, he has struck out 25 hitters in just 23.2 innings pitched. Harrison has tallied 18 strikeouts across his four starts, recording more than 4.5 strikeouts in two of these games. He is coming off a season-best six strikeouts against the Rockies in his previous start and also tallied more than 4.5 strikeouts in 14 of his 24 starts last year.
The Dodgers have an intimidating lineup and will have a much different outlook than the Rockies. But Los Angeles is averaging 8.2 strikeouts per game this season. Getting strikeouts is Harrison’s best path to outs in this matchup, so expect him to dig in looking for these results. His 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings is a career-high, and I like Harrison’s chances of sitting down five Dodgers sluggers tonight.
Shohei Ohtani More Than 0.5 Home Runs
One player Harrison should be especially careful with is Shohei Ohtani. Harrison is producing reverse splits as a left-handed pitcher and allowing a .645 slugging percentage to left-handed hitters compared to a .333 slugging percentage against right-handed batters. The Giants’ starter has given up three home runs to left-handed batters in 31 at-bats compared to just one home run in 60 at-bats to righties.
Ohtani is one of the premier hitters in baseball and snapped a career-high 10-game RBI drought yesterday. Confidence should be restored with him putting two over the fence in the Dodgers’ 11-5 victory yesterday. Ohtani leads all National League hitters with a .638 slugging percentage and 1.023 OPS. He has 25 home runs already this season, and it takes just one missed pitch for him to change the game. Look for him to add to his home run total today and put himself right back in the mix for leading all of baseball, as he sits just one below the league leaders in the home run category right now.
