During last season’s Super Bowl run, the Seattle Seahawks stymied the offenses of the 49ers and Patriots while outscoring the Rams, 31-27. Seattle showed the ability to win in a variety of ways, but the one constant was the ability to take care of the rock, as the offense did not turn the ball over once in three games. In the Super Bowl rematch to open the season, the defense limited the Patriots offense to 10 points while the offense didn’t turn the ball over. This is a winning formula that has been consistently successful for Mike Macdonald’s group.
Suddenly, the Seahawks turned the ball over in six straight games, including multiple turnovers in half of those contests. Seattle allowed 33, 32 and 17 points en route to three losses, before restoring order with a dominant victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football a week ago.
The Seahawks rushing attack hasn’t been good this season, averaging just 3.9 yards per carry and scoring six times. Not having Kenneth Walker III seems to be an issue, but they did see success against a tough Chiefs defense a week ago. Emanuel Wilson rushed 24 times for 100 yards and a touchdown in that game, and the Seahawks acquired Quenton Nelson to beef up the interior of their offensive line.
If the rushing attack can get going, that could possibly make Jaxon Smith-Njigba even more dangerous — if that’s even possible. The Ohio State product has caught 58 of 78 targets for 867 yards, eight touchdowns, 123.9 yards per game, 43 first downs and a long of 82 yards — all of which lead the NFL.
On defense, Seattle is second in pressure rate despite blitzing at the 12th-lowest rate. The Seahawks have also racked up 17 sacks while forcing 12 turnovers to this point. Seattle is ranked second in EPA per pass on defense, while only allowing eight passing touchdowns on the year. The rush defense is also elite, with the Seahawks allowing just 3.5 yards per carry and 89.4 yards per game.
As good as the Seahawks defense has been, the Bears offense has been equally prolific. Chicago racked up 59 points and 552 total yards in the opener, before Caleb Williams suffered an injury and missed three games. Upon his return, Williams and the Chicago offense racked up 31 and 30 points respectively, resulting in two straight wins.
The Bears rushing attack has been one of the best in the sport this season. Chicago has put up1,080 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground — both good for the second-most in the NFL. Williams alone has carried the ball 24 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns while D’Andre Swift leads the team with 476 yards and seven touchdowns on 116 carries. With Kyle Monangai set to miss his fourth-straight game, Swift should dominate the snaps at the position.
With Williams back under center, tight end Colston Loveland has led the team with 19 total targets over the last two games. Wide receiver Luther Burden III is second with 12 targets, and he’s always a threat to break off an explosive play.
Defensively, Chicago is fourth in pressure rate while blitzing at the seventh-highest rate. The Bears have racked up 19 sacks and 10 turnovers forced, with both marks tied for the fourth-most across the league. The rush defense is solid, but they do struggle against the pass — which could be an issue against Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks offense.

Bears at Seahawks DraftKings Showdown Captain’s Picks
Zach Charbonnet ($10,500 CP): Charbonnet is returning from an ACL injury and will make his season debut in this one. He likely won’t get a full workload, but he’s always been an excellent option at the goal line. It helps that with the recent acquisition of guard Quenton Nelson, the offensive line is beefed up. Charbonnet likely won’t see many carries between the 20s, but a few targets could come his way in the red zone.
Best UTIL Plays for Bears at Seahawks
D’Andre Swift ($9,800): With no Monangai in the lineup, Swift garnered 86% of the snaps last week. Swift should dominate the touches in the backfield for a Chicago offense that ranks second in the NFL with 246 carries. In addition, the Seattle defense is designed to limit the big play and has allowed the third-most receptions per game to opposing running backs. On the season, Swift has received 26 targets — which he’s converted into 22 catches for 152 yards.
AJ Barner ($4,600): Last week, Barner was second on the team with five targets, one of those came in the red zone. He also rushed three times as the short-yardage, tush-push option. Barner only has one double-digit FPTS performance on the season, but he hasn’t put up a donut in any game to this point.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($12,000): Smith-Njigba leads the league in yards, touchdowns, first down, yards per game and longest reception. There’s not much else that needs to be said.
Bears at Seahawks DFS Fades
Rome Odunze ($7,600): Odunze has garnered only 38 targets to this point, recording 24 receptions for 381 yards. Seattle has one of the best pass defenses in the league and consistently neutralizes opposing wide receivers, and Odunze has put up double-digit FPTS only twice this season.
Bears at Seahawks Showdown Game Script
There are a fairly wide range of outcomes in this game, but I’m anticipating a back-and-forth affair. Both offenses should be able to move the ball, but the Seahawks defense and rushing attack should be enough to get them an important victory at home on Monday.
