NFL RB Touch Projections — Week 8 MNF: Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks

In fantasy football, running back is arguably the most important position on the field. At the very least, good RBs are the hardest commodity to come by in most formats, and finding ones with any value in DFS is a chore.

With all that in mind, I’m here help.

Let’s break down some touch and target projections for each backfield in tonight’s Monday Night Football tilt between the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks.

– Proj Car / Proj Tgt — Projected rushing attempts and receiving targets. Game script adjusts the split: favored teams get up to 12% more carries, underdogs get up to 15% more targets.

– Projections — Built from blended per-game rates (20% 2025 / 80% 2026), adjusted for matchup, game spread, DK team totals, and depth chart role. Out/IR players excluded with touches redistributed. Q/D volume reductions apply Fri-Sun only (after official designations).

The Bears’ backfield split is pretty simple, which is a bit of a relief considering the mess we have to break down below.

With Kyle Monangai (toe/thumb) still nursing a litany of injuries, D’Andre Swift will once again be the featured back in Week 8’s matchup with the Seahawks. While he hasn’t been racking up the rushing yards since Monangai’s been sidelined, Swift has been a consistent fantasy performer, registering at least 17 FPTS in every game he’s played since Week 5.

Last Thursday’s tilt with the Patriots was also a bit of an eye-opening affair for Swift’s usage in a neutral script. While Roschon Johnson had been somewhat involved in lopsided results against the Packers and the Falcons, it was all Swift all the time versus New England. To wit, Swift logged a season-high 85.5% snap share and turned 26 touches in 90 scrimmage yards. That was on a short week, too. Just imagine Swift’s workload tonight, coming off 11 days of rest.

Where do we even begin?

While Emanuel Wilson is coming off his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season — a contest where he saw 24 carries and added a 15-yard reception — the context of this Seahawks’ backfield is drastically different from what it was this time last week. Both Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price are expected to return on Monday Night Football, creating an absolutely head-scratching three-headed monster at running back.

Here’s the good news. Over its past three games, Seattle is averaging 70.3 offensive plays, which is the third-highest mark in the NFL. The Seahawks have also been one of the most run-forward teams in the league since the beginning of 2025, even possessing an NFC-best 49.7% rush rate during last year’s regular season. So, if there truly is going to be three mouths to feed, at least Charbonnet, Price and Wilson are employed by a team that’s likely to have around 30 running back touches to split each week.

As for the specific projections for tonight, I’ll side with the algorithm. I’d be surprised if any one back surpassed 15 carries or flirted with 20 touches, but my lean is for Charbonnet to be the most-used option of the trio. Charbonnet was essentially in a 50/50 timeshare with Kenneth Walker III last season, which says a lot about how the Seahawks value his talent level. Also, unlike Price, Charbonnet’s practice window has been open since October 1. He’s had waaaaaaay more time to re-find his conditioning and timing.
